Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2009
We are a family of 4 with 2 grown children who are avid skiers and hikers. We have live in North Carolina but visit the Idaho house whenever we can. We purchased a small cabin on our 5 acres of valley floor land 16 years ago and have just built this great 1800 sq. ft. house. We love to travel and work in international professions. We invite renters who will care for our new home as we do.
Why the Owner Chose Victor
We built this house last year after owning a cabin on the 5 acre property. We LOVE this area - it is the real west yet close to Jackson with fine restaurants and amenities. The area boosts the beautiful Teton mountains and some of the best skiing in the US. We have a private spot that borders National Forest with cross country and backcountry skiing right outside our door. Victor, the town 5 minutes away now has a gourmet grocery, great restaurants and some of the nicest people on the planet! We have done rock climbing on the Grand Teton and other mountains, fishing, backpacking hiking, canoeing, running rapids on the famous Snake River and, of course, a lot of skiing. We have also spent many leisurely days on our terrace reading and enjoying the fine summer weather or by a fire in the winter.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We are very close to great fishing areas and the Snake river for rafting. Yellowstone Park is 40 minutes away. There are plenty of lakes for swimming. It is very central to any outdoor activity you can imagine except ocean surfing!

My wife and I stayed at this chalet for our honeymoon. We were looking for a place that was quiet, secluded, affordable and comfortable. This property met all of those requirements and exceeded our expectations. We felt at home right away. When we arrived there was a beautiful bouquet of flowers on the kitchen table from the owner. The owner was a pleasure to do business with. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor fire pit. We also did lots of cooking and the kitchen is top notch and has everything you will need. Victor and Driggs are very close by and offer everything you need on a daily basis. Driggs has a very nice grocery store and some options for eating out. We ate at the Thai restaurant in town and found it to have great service and food. There is also a drive-in movie theatre (The Spud) on the south side of Driggs. There is plenty to do on the Idaho side of the Tetons: Grand Targhee Ski Area, Upper and Lower Mesa Falls, Hiking, Mt. Biking, and Cycling. There is a Ranger Station in Driggs and they will give you plenty of options for outdoor activities. I highly recommend this property if you are going to be traveling to the Jackson/Wydaho area. You will not be disappointed! We are already talking about spending a long weekend here on a couples get-away. With 4 bedrooms and three bathrooms, there is plenty of room for 4 couples.

This is a lovely spacious house - eight people can stay easily without treading on each others' toes - very private, comfortable, well-maintained and well fitted out. There's a stream by the side of the house, and deer wander through the garden. Jackson is half an hour's drive away - but Victor, two miles away, and Driggs, ten miles, will have everything you need. You will definitely need a 4*4 for the driveway in winter. This valley is a great place to stay, if you want to relax - easy access to the Tetons, but much quieter than the other side of the pass.

Our family went in mid-June and it was a wonderful time to see wildlife. We saw more wildlife than we saw in Alaska! Our family consisted of six adults and there was plenty of room. Beautiful house with all you could need and great location as it was close to everything but far enough away to be peaceful and serene. We loved the long bycycle path through Victor and the town was quaint and friendly. We also went kayaking in Yellowstone one day and it was breath taking. We did horse back riding as well and the views were fabulous. We were not disappointed at all!! If you want to do any grilling be sure to request grill ahead of time!

Amazing spot. The pictures don't do it justice!! Beautifully appointed home with all amenities you could want for a chill time with adults and kids. We had a blast - snowed the whole time. easy to get to Jackson or GT or ski the pass. (A bit hard to find in the dark so plan to get there during the day - otherwise have faith in the directions and you'll figure it out.)

We stayed at the house for a week and had a great time. There is a plenty of space in and around the house. Many great options to just relax after a day of skiing or any other activities. The house is right next to a creek. We found it extremely soothing to simply rest soaking in a hot tub and listen to the water running down in the creek, while looking at the stars in the sky above you. The house has a great kitchen with many cooking accessories handy for a nice home made meal and a family get-together. The location is perfect. You have to climb up the hill using a traverse-style driveway (make sure you have an appropriate vehicle in winter), which comes down to a gate. Driving past the gate will get you to a privately located meadow. The location certainly gave us the feeling of being up in the sticks, which we liked. Best, Sergei & Natalia
