Absolutely everything we needed and many things we didn't even realize we wanted but came in handy! Bordeaux was a "break" for us on on along trip through Europe, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our only "complaint" is that the apartment was so nice and so comfortable, we had trouble leaving! Many thanks!

Our stay was great!! We had a difficult time getting to Bordeaux after a missed flight and, although late, Gerald was there to greet us and made us feel welcomed. This apartment is so organized! If you don't know how to use anything in the apartment there is a handbook with all the answers as well as some great recommendations for food (which we happily followed and were delighted)! The whole place was clean and comfortable. We loved the little touches that Gerald put into the place: water bottles & tissues on the nightstand & savory treats to sample. There's a couple of restaurants and a corner market just downstairs from the place. But the apartment is centrally located; walking distance to all of the city center. There's lots of cute plazas to explore and the architecture is beautiful. One spot for food that we HIGHLY recommend is Quartier Latin on Rue du Palais Gallien. It's street food, but they have the best falafel's I've ever had! At the end of our stay, not only did Gerald kindly help us book a taxi to the train station, but he helped us figure out the appropriate timing so that we didn't miss our train. I fell in love with Bordeaux and we can't wait to go back and stay in this wonderful apartment again!!

We are delighted to be the first Irish guests in your guestbook!Even though the weather was a little bit Irish, it was also sunny enough for me to enjoy my most favoured pastime : eating "al fresco"!I love the apartment, the sun-facing balcony,and its fabulous central location.I particularly liked all your generous and welcoming touches, the wine, the fresh flowers, the sweet treats; It was great to have all the esssentials at hand, like the olive oil and balsamic - usually our first purchases when we visit France! We packed a lot during our short break, even got a day on the city bikes which was great fun and a great way to see around. St Emilion was really worth the visit too. It is such a shame to have to leave but this is certainly not our last visit. Thank you again!

My husband & I were very, very pleased with our one-week stay in this apartment. The owner, Gerald, is a pleasure to deal with. He responds quickly to e-mails, speaks & writes excellent English, & provided a warm, personal, & informative welcome. We were tired & hungry on arrival, so we really appreciated Gerald's special treats! The apartment is clean & bright, the bed is comfortable, & there is plenty of hot water. It was great to have the dishwasher & the washing machine, and thanks to Gerald's instructions we were actually able to operate them! The apartment feels much larger than it is, with its high ceilings, tall windows, & good use of space. The kitchen has plenty of cookware & utensils so you can easily cook full meals, as we did some evenings. The apartment is well stocked with information & guidebooks, too. The location was perfect for us, in a real neighborhood with good, useful shopping, yet very close to Bordeaux's many interesting sights. We could (& did) walk everywhere, though we also bought 7-day unlimited Tickartes so we could hop on & off the tram at will. One of our favorite places was the nearby Jardin Publique, a real gem of an urban park--beautiful, well-used, & yet not overly crowded. We spent many happy hours relaxing there. The beauty, scale, & incredible architecture of Bordeaux far exceeded our expectations. (Our only caveat is the "dog doo." There is more than in Paris or New York.) If you like cheese at all, be sure to go to Jean d'Alos. There's plenty of room to browse, the service is very friendly, & the cheeses are well-labelled & perfect. We also bought an incredible, dense pain Gascon from Au Petrin Moissagais in the Chartrons. We hope to stay in Gerald's apartment again (if it's not fully booked!), & we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, well-located "home away from home" in Bordeaux.

We stayed at this apartment for 5 nights, it was a great location, could not be closer to the bus and tram! The supermarket was a few minutes up the road and many cafes and restaurants are only a few minutes away. The place was very comfortable and very well equipped. The apartment is as per the pictures. I would definately go back to this apartment and would recommend it to friends. Michael was very helpful.

Everything in the apartment was in top condition. You were so helpful getting us connected on the internet and learning how to use a European washer and dryer! Having a dishwasher made my day! We would definitely recommend this apartment and you to anyone. You even suggested a good day to visit the vineyards and the beach at Arcachon...and you were right! We spent a week in this lovely apartment in central Bordeaux . We have stayed in many apartments in Europe but rarely have we come across such a generous and thoughtful owner as Gerald . We really appreciated the personal welcome , the flowers , the bottle of excellent wine , the bottled water , the 'phone calls and the little treats . The apartment was quite small but modern , compact and very clean with everything we needed and the position was very good for sightseeing and restaurants . Thank you Gerald .

A fabulous apartment, in a fabulous area, of a fabulous city. In a nice period building, an elegant apartment with bright and fresh designer furniture, particularly well equipped (wifi, DVD, printer and printing paper, dishwasher, luxury Nespresso coffee machine, to name but a few). It's got it all, and all is of premium quality with all user manuals instructions available. The apartment is perfectly designed with a large balcony and huge ceilings, all in a symphony of whites and greys with some color touches of red. Very nice sleeping area on a low mezzanine with again high ceiling. Owner is charming, enthusiastic, gave us plenty of good and valuable advice, available at all times… but never intrusive. The location is perfect, in the heart of the "chic" part of the city-center, walking distance to the river, the park, everything. You don't need a car, but if you have one, it's easy to park at the parking lot close by, they have reduced 7-day rates available. Neighbors in the building are all very nice and discreet, privacy is perfect. PS : The apartment even has a great security lock… but don't leave the keys inside when you go out as the door will lock automatically and you would have to call the owner for assistance !.

The apartment is perfect! The bed was comfy, the nespresso was good, and the french doors to the balcony were beautiful! My wife and I spent a lot of time sitting on the balcony, enjoying a beverage and people watching. The apartment is in a perfect location. Walking distance to everything: shopping, dining, site seeing, you name it and it's close by. We recommend Cafe Bellini for drinks and great small plate food. (Try the Gran Marnier sour!) The owner Gerald was very nice as well. He greeted us when we arrived before leaving us to our vacation. He was very helpful and thoughtful. He emailed us to see if we needed anything. I would reccomend this apartment to anyone. We'll be staying here when we come back!

What a wonderful apartment! This was a perfect base to explore the beautiful city of Bordeaux. Thank you so much. This apartment was a treat to stay in. Perfectly situated in the city and with personalized amenities to make the stay truly comfortable and inviting. The kitchen area is small, but sufficiently equipped, so we were able to eat meals in, as well as sample great restaurants all within a short walk. Worth noting is the much appreciated Nespresso machine for perfect coffee everyday. Our host was as equally hospitable and accommodating. It has given us much to write home about! We look forward to perhaps returning here one day and enthusiastically recommending this apartment to all our friends!

Thanks for such a welcome - and such a welcoming place to stay! A real "home from home", and the perfect base to explore Bordeaux and discover its many attractions on foot. Definitely recommend the train to St Emilion (get around these drinking-driving issues!) and afternoon tea at the Relais Chateaux there is a must. The "initiation course" at the Bordeaux WIne School (2 minutes walk from the apartment) is also definitely worth doing. Thank you for the great apartment, will definitely send you all our friends who wish to experience the best of Bordeaux!

We just returned from spending 10 days in this Bordeaux apartment and I can confirm that everything is exactly as described on this page. The experience however is ever nicer than can be captured in such a profile. The apartment was clean, well-designed and contains a range of little things that make the holiday experience ever nicer: numerous kitchen utensils, a good selection of films and music for quiet evenings, fast internet access, maps and information on Bordeaux and the region, an electric fan, table and chairs for the balcony etc. In addition, Gerald was always fast to reply and very accommodating in the process of booking and upon arrival. Bordeaux is also a wonderful place with plenty of old architecture, great restaurants, museums, shops, and neighbourhoods to explore. We also recommend a trip to Dune du Pilat - the largest sand dune in Europe. It's easily accessed by train to Archacon and then bus or bicycles (5-10 km) south along the coast. Of course, the is also the wine, the fruit, the cheeses, the french dessserts, the mussles and fries, the seafood platters ... well, you get the picture :)

Gerald, Cindy, Pat and I have had a grand experience in Bordeaux and in your apartment fit our needs for rest, relaxation, dining etc. We particularly enjoyed the ability to call the US toll free (note from owner : landlines only). Having been gone almost a month from the US, it was reasuring that we could easily speak with our family and friends. Hopefully someday we can return to Bordeaux and once again call 15 Rue Huguerie our French home.

We had a terrifc time in this very beautiful city. The location of Gerald's apartment is excellent and we found the apartment extremely comfortable and well equipped. However all we used was the wine glasses! We came to France to eat, and we did just that! There are so many wonderful restaurants! Bordeaux is fabulous for walking, around every corner there is a square or a beautiful building, a fountain, or something fascinating. We had great weather - only one rainy day and that was in Arcachon.Gerald, "merci" for everything. We've left this small "cadeau" for you… and also some cards from our favorite restaurants. Someday we hope to come back. You are so lucky to be French. Love from Marcia and Dave.

Un séjour inoubliable que nous venons de passer à Bordeaux, une ville à l'architecture magnifique, la restauration y est excellente, les gens courtois et sympathiques, la température idéale : 12 jours de soleil et de ciel bleu en Octobre! Superbe visite à Saint Emilion, Biarritz et Saint Jean de Luz.L'appartement de Gérald est génial, on s'y sent chez nous. Merci Gérald pour votre accueil si chaleureux et vos bons conseils.Ce n'est qu'un au-revoir, car nous reviendrons, c'est certain. Mille mercis encore !PS : Bordeaux était l'endroit idéal pour notre 30ème anniversaire de mariage et le foie gras aux fruits du Noailles était sublime!

We were delighted to stay in this conveniently located studio apartment, and really appreciated the friendly and personal welcome from our host. This studio is well located, within very easy walking distance of the centre of the old city and all the city facilities. It has a great choice of bistro, cafés, restaurants and food shops all close by. The apartment was beautifully presented and very comfortably furnished, and the fittings were all contemporary, working and functional. Our host went out of his way to facilitate the rental arrangement, and made himself available at our request during our stay. We have no hesitation in recommending this as a clean, convenient, comfortable and charming apartment in the magnificent city of Bordeaux, and would ourselves make use of it again in the future.Derek and Tony, Sydney, Australia.
