Welcome to our luxurious vacation home, The Villa Makoshi – Penthouse. Our 1350 Sq. Ft. Caribbean Style Villa was built in 2009. We feature a Caribbean décor with vaulted ceilings, 2 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, 2 open air decks, wireless internet, washing machine, fully equipped kitchen, outside gear rinse station with shower, gear drying rods and a propane gas barbeque. For your added comfort, we offer air-conditioning throughout the entire villa; the living room, kitchen and bedrooms; something not all villas can offer. For security, we offer bedroom wall safes, 2 secured decks, window and door security bars. A serene atmosphere for hanging out and enjoying the peace and quiet of your private second floor balcony with outdoor ceilings fans to keep the mosquito's away. Watch all the activity from above and admire a bird’s eye view of Kralendijk, the open country side and the hills of Bonaire. Good chance you’ll even spot a donkey or two. Your Caribbean dream awaits you!

- Cooking Utensils Provided : Everything is provided to compliment the chef of the household - pots and pans, frying pans, slow cooker, bowels, corning ware, etc.

- Microwave : A microwave for all your quick cooking techniques or heating up some left overs for a quick snack.
- Catering Available : Daily prepared meals can be provided.
- Outdoor Features
- Gas/Electric BBQ Grill : Propane gas barbeque on the south balcony. We always have an extra propane tank.
- Deck/Patio : Stone covered patio surrounding the pool in the center of the villas complete with lounge chairs.
- Lanai (2) : There is a large gated balcony facing the west (ocean side) and a smaller balcony facing south. Both are covered and secure.

Why the Owner Chose Hato
Our villa is towards the north end of Kralendijk, called Hato. The ocean is just across the street and we are close enough to walk or bike downtown or you can find dive shops, restaurants and retail stores just minutes away as well. A brand new spa and gym is right next door. The airport is south of us about 10 minutes by car.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa
Our resort is a gated community, bordered by a cactus fence around the complex. Our deck overlooks the pool and lush garden area that is encompassed by stone. Nestled in amongst the pool, you will find a quiet, serene opportunity to enjoy your holiday on the island. We face ocean side (west), so depending upon the wind blowing a few palm trees, the ocean is sometimes visible; as well as a bird's eye view of Kralendijk and the beautiful back country is always there.
When we arrived on Bonaire for the first time, there was something about the island that attracts you. It’s the peaceful laid back life style without the hustle and bustle of commercialized vacation

A common theme of owners is that we all fell in love with the island, the life style and culture. Our community of villas was dedicated to Caribbean culture, so before the ground work had even started; we spoke for the Villa Makoshi Penthouse. Since that day we continue to meet and maintain new friends from places abroad. Upon leaving Bonaire, we now say we have left home and arrived back in Canada. Both Dianne and I hope you enjoy your stay in our home in Bonaire.

My buddy & I spent a week at the Makoshi over Labor Day and had a great time. The villa is clean, modern and very comfortable. Service is terrific—if you have an issue; it’s taken care of quickly. Cooking is easy and we prepared several dinners as well as all breakfasts/lunches. It’s very quiet and peaceful and the pool is a great place to spend time (when you’re not in the ocean). I’ll definitely stay at Villa Makoshi the next time I visit Bonaire.

We stayed at Upper Makoshi for seven nights. It had enough space for 5 adults to move about freely. The 2 1/2 baths made getting out the door and back again a breeze. The air conditioning units and fans did the trick whenever we needed to employ them. The proximity to town is perfect. There are two small markets very close by with all we needed. The 20% discount through Dive Friends served us well. The villa is situated in a nicely arranged setting with a pool and well-placed palm trees. A great place to stay!

The upper villa did not feel like a rental villa, but it felt like home. It was very open but had a home atmosphere. There was a balcony to dry dive gear wear no one could access it, other then from the inside the home. The bedrooms are very big with lots and lots of closet space and a safe in each room. Each bedroom has is own large private bathroom. All the cooking supplies were there and even a slow cooker which was the best, because we loaded up the slow cooker and left for the day to come home to supper already done. They even had a cot, washing machine and portable hanging clothes drier that could be set outside to hang wet towels and bathing suits. The big flat screen TV/DVD combo was already wired so you could plug in your camera or computer review pictures or use the Wi-Fi to email friends and family.. Not only was there A/C in the bedrooms but also in the main room, so each room could be kept at a separate temp. I also like the fact that the villa is gated with a fence around it which made it feel really safe and secure. Everything from groceries to scuba supplies (tanks and gear) and diving was close by.

We had a wonderful week staying at Villa Makoshi. The location is very convenient to everything and the villa is very well appointed. My son and I enjoyed swimming in the pool daily, which brings me to my one suggestion of furnishing beach towels for use at the pool. The shore diving was fantastic, as always. I would not hesitate to stay at Villa Makoshi again in the future.

We had a wonderful week staying at Villa Makoshi. Conviently located near to town. Central between the north & south dive sites, made it super easy to pop back for surface intervals /lunches on the covered patio. The villa is comfortably appointed with everything you would need. WiFi ,Grill, secure outside patio for gear drying, rinse tanks! The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms modern & big. The local contact there to meet us at the airport & was readily available throughout our stay. You would not be disappointed with Villa Makoshi as your home base for Bonaire's fanstastic shore diving!

I had the pleasure of staying at the Villa Makoshi this past April 2010. I had such a fabulous holiday. The Villa Makoshi is truly the perfect home away from home. It was very clean and comfortable with all the amenities you need. It was so nice to have a kitchen, bar-b-que, washing machine, and a rinse station for your gear. The bedrooms are huge and comfortable with air conditioning and plenty of storage space plus each room has it's own huge bathroom. I really liked staying on the upper level. It seemed a little more private and secure. The pool is really nice and a great place to hang out and relax when you are not diving. Villa Makoshi is also in the perfect location - close to dive sites, banking, grocery shopping, and downtown. I am hoping to make Bonaire an annual holiday, and I would love to stay at the Villa Makoshi again.

Great spot. I would stay there again in second. Close to the bank and the dive shop. Accomadations were spotlessly clean, full rinse stations for gear. Terrific hosts. Some of the best diving I have ever done.
