Center of Chain - truely Northwoods Lakefront Cabins. Located 25 ft from water edge in the center of the Three Lakes Chain on Big Stone Lake.

A two bedroom and a three bedroom cabin available. The cabins were built in the 1950s as part of the Winterburns Resort. They are cottages number 15 and 16. The cabins are in very good shape and are very clean. The availability calendar show availability of two bedroom cottage.

The cabins are situated only 25 feet from the crystal clear lake only steps away from 2 piers. The piers have rooms to dock your boat or fish as you watch the sunset. Swim raft, paddle boat, and a 14 ft fishing boat w/o motor are available. Pontoon boat rentals are located near by.

Historic Lake Cottages for Rent Located on Big Stone Lake

Nice cottages on Big Stone

My husband and I stayed here for a week in May 2011. We had a really nice time. The cottages are clean and adequate. They are quite old but that just adds to the charm. Lots of knotty pine! We stayed in the 2 bedroom which has a beautiful front porch built on and a table for sitting and gazing out at the lake. You are steps from the lake and piers. Morse has a really nice set up here, his home is set back about a block from the cottages. Their are two piers with multiple boat slots and a covered spot for a boat as well. We were able to rent a boat and fish the whole chain. We did not catch any Muskie this year but had great luck with crappies. We also caught northern and a few perch. We could boat across to Pine Isle to eat and see the Northernaire from our pier. Beautiful sunsets at night across the water. I did some shopping in town at Northland and the awesome gift shop across the street. The two cottages are close together so if you are traveling with others it's perfect. There is a nice firering with chairs. No beach but that did not bother us. We saw bear, deer, and other regulars up there. There is fabulous hiking in the Nicolet forest. All in all a great value in a great location. Thanks Morse, for taking good care of us. We will be back! Beth and George Sagris/ Kirby
