While away the Summer evenings on the screened porch, lounge on the deck amid Spring and Fall breezes or plan a Winter getaway in "Four Seasons" - a comfortable cottage tucked into a secluded lot on beautiful Cape Fear Trail.
This home is pet-friendly and your well-behaved four-legged friend is welcome to share your vacation with you. No smoking is allowed.
All of the living quarters in this spacious home are on the same level. The living room and dining area are in the center of this open floor plan - opening into a large kitchen on one side and a separate family room adjoining the built-in wet bar on the other.
Just outside the sliding glass doors are a generous-sized screened porch and a raised deck which houses the large gas grill.
The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for your party of eight. The home even has a second refrigerator to hold your Thanksgiving turkey.
The four light, airy bedrooms each have their own adjoining bathroom. The master bedroom contains a queen bed and its own television set. Two other bedrooms have queen beds and the fourth is equipped with two twins. You'll find plenty of room to store all of your belongings.
Four Seasons is equipped with three televisions, a DVD, Internet service throughout the house, and all the extra touches that make it a true home away from home. It also has a pack-and-play and a high chair for your little one.
No cars are allowed on Bald Head Island for private use. Visitors and residents move about the Island by bicycle or golf cart. Four Seasons is equipped with two golf carts: one a six-seater and the other a two-seater. Bicycles are available for rent on the Island.
If you wish, you may add a temporary membership in the Bald Head Island Club - the Island's premier sports facility. The Club is home to a George Cobb designed 18-hole golf course (greens fees are not included), four brand-new tennis courts, an Olympic size swimming pool and a state-of-the art fitness center.
The Club also offers summer camps, golf and tennis clinics and special holiday activities for children and teens. The fee for the temporary membership is $150 per family.
As a temporary member, you can enjoy an elegant dinner in the Club's dining room or a casual lunch at the Peli Perch next to the swimming pool.
Bald Head Island is rich in history. Old Baldy is the oldest lighthouse in North Carolina and is open to the public. Pirates once sought refuge on the Island and it housed a Civil War Fort. The Old Baldy Foundation offers historic tours and operates a museum next to the lighthouse.
The Island's natural beauty is unsurpassed. It has a large maritime forest, 14 miles of beach, and a beautiful inland creek and marsh. It is a flyway for migrating birds and a nesting ground for loggerhead turtles. Evening turtle walks during nesting and hatching season are available through the Bald Head Island Conservancy.
Bald Head Island is accessible only by passenger ferry or your own private boat. On June 2, Bald Head Island Limited opened a new ferry terminal located at the Deep Point Marina, adjacent to the Fort Fisher/Southport ferry dock.
