Tola house description
Enjoy a spectacular vacation at Rancho Santana, the premier development on the Pacific Coast of beautiful Nicaragua. My house (Casita) is a beautifully maintained 2-bedroom bungalow just 2 minutes walk from the Rancho Santana Clubhouse and the Pacific Ocean. This is my second home and I spend 2 to 3 months a year here myself escaping from the Canadian weather, looking after my Casita and caring for the tropical plants I've planted around it.
When you stay at my Casita you'll enjoy wireless internet access and satellite TV -- so you can feel as connected as you wish to be with home or work.
I'm not a surfer, but any surfer worth her or his salt knows that this is one of the greatest surfing areas in the world. Just Google "Nicaragua + Surf + Tola" and you'll zone in on Rancho Santana and the surrounding beaches of Tola. My Casita is ideal for 3 or 4 surfers to share and enjoy a reasonably-priced holiday right by some of the greatest beaches in the Americas.
Cook for yourselves in the Casita or enjoy your meals at the Rancho Santana Club House Restaurant and Bar. Most of all, relax knowing you have the choice! The Casita has a full-size fridge/freezer and fully-equipped kitchen -- so you can either shop in the supermarkets and bring supplies for your stay with you, or you can buy them locally at Rancho Santana or the nearby villages. The best of both worlds...

We stayed at Howy's Casita for the last 3 nights of our Nicaraguan vacation. It was beautiful. The service and amenities at the Ranch are second to none. The Casita is well maintained, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We checked out all 5 beaches when we were there and they we all superb, especially Playa Duna, which is a bit of a hike but well worth it! Plus we had the beach completely to ourselves all day. It has a sand dune as tall as a building there. One of the neatest beaches I've ever seen for sure. The restaurant at the place was also amazing. Great food and very friendly staff. I believe they serve mostly organic food right from the big garden at the ranch. I could write a lot more, but I'll just conclude by saying this is definitely a place we will go back and see! Also, Howy was a pleasure to deal with. The PayPal transaction went smoothly and he was always checking his email and answering questions leading up to our trip in a timely fashion. Great experience!

Owner response: Cory: Thank you very much for your helpful comments. You were a pleasure to deal with too! Your note about email responses is especially useful since I can't easily show "availability" of the casita here (because the casita's managed for me by others and I always have to check with them first). So I encourage anyone to contact me by email and I'll normally get back within a few hours. Thanks again Cory! Start planning your next trip. :^)

Wonderful Vacation Spot
We had an wonderful time in Nicaragua at this Casita. It is very spacious for two and has plenty of room. It is very clean and comfortable and has everything you would need. It is surrounded by lush plants and trees and far enough away from the other Casitas to give you room and privacy, yet just a short walk to the clubhouse and pool area, the store, and most of all, the beach. The people at Rancho are very nice and the food at the clubhouse is really delicious. We also cooked alot in the Casita using the pre-stocked grocery service. On those hot days the air conditioners in the bedrooms feel great and get nice and cool. We would definitely go back.

Howy's casita is beautiful, very comfortable and perfectly located. The access to the bar, restaurant, swimming pool and beaches is effortless. The back up power supply will keep the ceiling fans turning, the beer cold and the lights on during the occasional power outages. We had a great time as usual at Rancho Santana and I'll certainly be staying at Howy's casita the next time I go back to the ranch.

Owner response: Nathan: Thanks for your kind comments. I particularly liked your "Recommended for..." list. The *only* category of people you've not included seems to be old codgers like me! And they of course would also love it there. :^) I'd be delighted to have you stay in my casita again. Best regards, Howy
We have stayed at Howie's casita several times. We have enjoyed all of them. Howie has spent lots of money and time to make his casita very enjoyable and comfortable. Keith and Barb Sabey.

About the owner: I live in Toronto, Canada. I'm a professional engineer by training and a philanthropist by nature, and I've spent many years in almost every country of Latin America. Speaking Spanish has helped me tremendously in managing and maintaining my Casita in Nicaragua. I love the country and feel very comfortable enjoying the friendship and hospitality of the people who live close by and who work at Rancho Santana.
