China Lake is 7 miles long! It is a favorite destination of bass fishermen. An unique Maine cottage with log siding, your vacation home sits on 2 private wooded acres, designed so that 2 families could happily vacation together. It has a great room with an impressive stone fireplace, a bar, and generous sofa and chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped and the adjoining dining area looks out at the lake and the sunset. The enclosed porch with its comforts looks out on two islands and an easy-to-access dock where children could happily spend an afternoon swimming or fishing. Exploring by canoe or renting a boat at the head of the lake, going antiquing, or to the coast for lobsters, or the mountains for hiking or rafting are easy special day trips. Even on a rainy day in front of the grand fireplace, puzzles, crafts, and a good book are memories I hold dear from my own childhood. I do not play golf, but the Natanis golf course in Vassalboro is only a few miles away and has world class quality and design.

May-June 23 - $ 1000/week
June 23-Sept 15 - $1300/week or $4500 for 4 weeks, $3500 for 3 weeks
Sep 15-Oct - $ 1000/week
There is a non-refundable deposit of $400 due upon reservation.
Remaining balance plus a $400 security deposit (refundable) is due
two weeks prior to beginning of rental period.
There is a $120 cleaning fee and 7.5% Maine Lodging tax added to every rental
Check in is on Sat at 4 PM/ check out is on Sat at 10:30 AM.

Why the Owner Chose China
I have summered on China Lake my whole life, happily playing by the lake with my cousins. Thirty years ago I moved here to raise my family in a beautiful rural community that actually offers every possible opportunity. In an hour we can go skiing, or mountain climbing, or white water rafting, to the coast to antique, climb on rocks and have lobster, or to town for movies or to Fort Western and the Maine State Museum in Augusta. I bought the Cottage because it is one of the loveliest properties on the Lake and there are not many available anymore. I have enjoyed timeshares in many places during the winter months and it pleases me to think about sharing this with others.

Great place to stay for large families

We just returned from a weeks stay at this property. The cottage is very comfortable and has plenty of room. There were 4 adults and 4 teenagers and 2 dogs and we never felt crowded. The back screened in porch is a wonderful place for early in the morning or later in the evening to play games and relax. The TV does not work at all - only to watch your DVDs which we had to attach from our portable car DVD player. Also, the kitchen is not stocked very well......we had to buy a lobster pot and 8 additional forks. It could certainly use a more dishes and cooking pots etc. The lake is beautiful and my youngest daugher caught at least 20 fish. The location is great....truly an hour or less to the coast and 2 hrs. from Acadia National Park. Overall for the price this is a great home to rent and the owner was great to work with.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We have just came back from this property.The layout was very nice there were no pictures of bedrooms though.Room 1 one king and 2 twin Roon 2 set of bunks Room 3 2 twins The loft has 1 standerd 2 twins.all bedrooms are very nice and clean.Kitchen needs large pans to cook lobsters ect.Bathrooms are ok thay are clean.Plenty of room in living room.There is a T.V. there but you can not get any chanels so bring dvd and hook up to pay we did and it worked out good.Beautiful fireplace.Water nice need water shoes.Fishing good. Great Place
