Discover the unexpected charm of staying in a lakefront log home with wonderful mountain and lake views in Grand Lake, Colorado. It sits 6.5 miles from Rocky Mountain National Park and Arapaho National Forest, on Lake Granby, and is just 100 miles from Denver. Grand Lake,Shadow Mountain Lake and Lake Granby are at your doorstep, and excursions upon or around the lakes such as fishing or hiking are right outside your front door. A wraparound porch and large lakefront windows offer excellent views of the sunset or sunrise over beautiful Lake Granby. The house was built in 2000 and is well maintained throughout the seasons.
Inside the house is as inviting as the outside. The quaint log home is a one level, 1800 square foot, non-smoking, pet-friendly home. There are three comfortable and spacious bedrooms with one king, one queen and a full size bunk bed set as well as two full bathrooms. The large living room, kitchen and dining area are open and spacious with picture windows on three sides. Some of the amenities are leather furniture, comfortable seats, TV, DVD and high speed wireless Internet as well as fully equipped kitchen and eight-seat dining room table. We have children of our own and have many kids’ games, puzzles, kid and adult books and many stocked DVD’s. Free amenities like fresh luxurious linens and towels in each bathroom are standard. Rest and relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the big city is the priority here!
Grand Lake is a charming village on the shores of Colorado's largest natural lake and the western entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, at Trail Ridge Road. With Shadow Mountain Lake & Lake Granby there are more than 150 miles of scenic shoreline to explore, boat, canoe, hike or fish. The Grand Lake area has plenty to do including: boating, sailing, fishing, hiking, golfing, hot sulfur springs, shopping, live theater or just enjoying the warm sunny days and cool evenings in the summer. In the winter you can enjoy snowmobiling, cross country & down hill skiing, hot springs, snow shoeing, sleigh rides, dog sled rides & sledding. In the fall you can appreciate smaller crowds, and the charming little shops at Grand Lake Village, take in a play at the theater, the changing colors of the aspen leaves, and great views of wildlife: elk and moose are prominent in the area, and often come right through our yard! You can also admire the elk bugling/mating season – simply a must see/hear!
