Great place and location. Place was spotless when we arrived. Canoes and kayaks are a big plus. Good fishing that week. Several big bass and some medium walleyes and northerns. Easy to take a short trip in evening to cabin or down to flaters. Excellent week.

What a place!
What a place!
If you are looking for a place in this area...LOOK NO FURTHER! Every review is so true to the heart. I would repeat what every review has to say. The comforts of home are beyond. It was so fun to cook at the kitchen island, with everyone talking and waiting for bacon, eggs and pancakes! My guests that were scheduled to leave on Monday all called into work and took another day...no one wanted to leave. When they did, I so enjoyed a good book in the comfort of this home. It was wonderful. I kayaked the river 6 times with guests and tubed once. That was not even enough, it is so beautiful. I caught two 17 inch small mouth bass and some smaller bass, what an experience. If this rating had a 1 to 10...it would easily get a 10!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Paul's vacation home on the Flambeau River. The home was very clean, spacious, modern, and overall, easy to live in. Early mornings and evenings were spent on the screened in porch watching nature--humingbirds flying, egrets fishing, and eagles soaring. The kitchen was fully equipped for meals, and the living space functional with cozy furniture, wide-screened TV's, and plenty of DVDs and games for the family. The beds were comfortable and provided a restful sleep. The home has central air for total comfort. Days were spent casting fishing lines into the river and reeling in small mouth trophy-sized bass, only to release to the waters. Canoes and kyaks are available as well as lifejackets for safety. The northwoods is rugged, scenic, and quiet. This property is ideal for getting away from the craziness of our hurried lives. Boogies, Flaters, Big Swedes, and Ted's establishments serve food for a night away from the kitchen. The area also has two golf courses. Be sure to call before playing a game, to be sure league is not at play. Beaches are nearby for soaking in the water. Also nearby in Chippawa Falls is the famous Leinenkugel brewery for touring, sampling, and shopping. If you desire a slower pace of life, the tranquility of nature, and activities associated with it, this is the place for YOU.

We spent a week at the house (my husband, 4 year old, border collie and my parents) and we had an amazing time. It was SO relaxing. The house is quiet, extremely comfortable and very well equipped. I don't rememeber the last time all of us were so relaxed, including the 4 year old. Sitting watching the water, reading a book on the screened porch, fishing for small mouth right from the property, kayaking the river, seeing eagles, deer and bear, taking a day trip into Chippewa Falls... I can't wait to go back.

Owner response: Wonderful people!! Thank You ! Paul and Troy Lizette
We had a great weekend at the cabin. The view is wonderful, lots of local places to hike, kayak, etc. The only thing I would share is that the cabin is quite close to a semi-busy highway so don't plan to have your dog off leash or little kids running too much. Traffic and ATVs going by is a bit noisy. The back side (near the river) is great-- the dog loved swimming and we sat in the swing a lot. Really appreciated the kayak and canoe and all the other "included" things. You don't often find that! The cabin itself is really nice, a lot of care taken-- great furniture and decor. And it was extremely clean!!

Owner response: The cottage is on a "COUNTY HWY" in a very rural area and has no more traffic than any other road in the area (only locals) Dogs should always be leashed especially if they have a tendency to run and are not aquainted with the area.
An Excellent Time!

Our week on the Flambeau River
Our week on the Flambeau River
My husband and our 5 yo Spinger Spaniel stayed at the cabin Aug 1 - 5, 2011. We met Paul and got settled right in Monday afternoon. The rain had started so that first night we listened to the Brewer game on the screen porch. We really appreciated the papers on the kitchen table suggesting places in the area to visit and shops to visit seeing the rain stuck around on Tuesday. Finally Wednesday was PERFECT. Again we went to those papers and decided to go to one of the suggested lakes in the area for a day of canoeing and swimming. Thursday we drove up river and canoed back to the cabin then biked back up to the truck. Then had to much fun doing that that we did the river again on the kayak. One night we walked over to the neighbors and they couldn't say enough wonderful things about Paul and Troy. Thank you for such a great week. Our dog loved swimming in the river too. Having a place to go with our springer was very important to us and we will certainly be back!

Magical Home - Outstanding
Magical Home - Outstanding
The home was beautiful, inside and out. Great for families, young couples, older couples, everyone. Great for kayaking, hanging out, caught tons of fish, played ladders, games, went biking, and relaxed. Pictures shown on the website do not do the place justice. The inside is beautifully decorated. Everything you could want in the kitchen, washer, dryer, flat screen tv. We are coming back next year !!!

Paradise on Flambeau
Paradise on Flambeau
I recently stayed at this cottage and if you are looking for peace and quiet with beautiful scenery I would recommend this place. I am a divorced mother of three teenagers and just wanted to spend some quality time away from hectic electronic bustle of today's world. Cottage is immaculate and comfortable, prospering relaxation at its best. Campfires at night, fishing, and kayaking at hand. My favorite part was watching my children take time out and to just read and relax. Owners Troy and Paul were honest and accurate with tips about nearby activities and emails regarding rental. This is your place if you can appreciate very well maintained and a peacefully secluded retreat with any activities if you choose.
