We stayed at Schneider's Camp Flambeau with our sons and their Families From July 6th to the 12th this year, and had a wonderful time! The location on the river is very peaceful, and the interior of the cottage is beautiful. Paul and Troy Lizette were wonderful hosts. We would highly recommend staying there. My husband and our 5 yo Spinger Spaniel stayed at the cabin Aug 1 - 5, 2011. We met Paul and got settled right in Monday afternoon. The rain had started so that first night we listened to the Brewer game on the screen porch. We really appreciated the papers on the kitchen table suggesting places in the area to visit and shops to visit seeing the rain stuck around on Tuesday. Finally Wednesday was PERFECT. Again we went to those papers and decided to go to one of the suggested lakes in the area for a day of canoeing and swimming. Thursday we drove up river and canoed back to the cabin then biked back up to the truck. Then had to much fun doing that that we did the river again on the kayak. One night we walked over to the neighbors and they couldn't say enough wonderful things about Paul and Troy. Thank you for such a great week. Our dog loved swimming in the river too. Having a place to go with our springer was very important to us and we will certainly be back!

The home was beautiful, inside and out. Great for families, young couples, older couples, everyone. Great for kayaking, hanging out, caught tons of fish, played ladders, games, went biking, and relaxed. Pictures shown on the website do not do the place justice. The inside is beautifully decorated. Everything you could want in the kitchen, washer, dryer, flat screen tv. We are coming back next year !!!

I recently stayed at this cottage and if you are looking for peace and quiet with beautiful scenery I would recommend this place. I am a divorced mother of three teenagers and just wanted to spend some quality time away from hectic electronic bustle of today's world. Cottage is immaculate and comfortable, prospering relaxation at its best. Campfires at night, fishing, and kayaking at hand. My favorite part was watching my children take time out and to just read and relax. Owners Troy and Paul were honest and accurate with tips about nearby activities and emails regarding rental. This is your place if you can appreciate very well maintained and a peacefully secluded retreat with any activities if you choose.

Camp Flambeau was the perfect long getaway for the family. Our 12-year old floated down the river and enjoyed trying the kayak out for early morning reflection time by herself in the mornings. My 9 year old enjoyed fishing for bass, and much to Dad's dismay, ended up catching the most fish and the largest bass by far. We could not have had a better time....No one wanted to leave this pristine spot right on the river. The home allowed separate space for everyone, and parents were able to recharge their batteries as well. The attention to detail, left many options, from activities and games to marshmallow sticks for the fire. We viewed so many deer with small fawn and nesting birds..but the highlight was the bald eagle who flew down the river several times a day to fish.

We stayed here over the 4th of July Holiday and were very impressed. The site is a beautiful location on a river. It's located close (upstream) to Lake Holcomb, which is also a great lake. It's a dammed flowage so there appears to be less of an issue with algae as other lakes may have. Oh, and the rental comes with the use of 2 canoes which is great on the river. We'd definitely come back, and we've recomended to others. Only downside would be that some of the rooms are a little small, so, just plan according to the number of guests staying (there are couches and futon that can be used if needed). The house as a whole is phenominal, in great shape, and has a nice firepit, and swing on the river! Highly recomended!!! Oh and the owners were very pleasant as well!

Our Guest wrote this in our cottage Journal. Thoughts on our 1st visit to Camp Flambeau...... From the 1st time we saw the Flambeau River flowing through the yard , in our hearts we knew we made a great decision. Awaking each morning to the sun reflecting off the river , all the beautiful trees , the songs of the various birds , and being mesmerized by the rivers current flowing by-paralled by a river of green grass, makes you want to spend every summer morning here. Reading a good book , sipping coffee , listening for the next breach of that huge fish who lives out in the middle of the Flambeau. I know that my mind will be returning to this cottage often. And the cottage itself- BROVO!! You have created a little paradise. Thank You for sharing it with us! Dan @ Wendy COL.
