The Carriage House is located in downtown Telluride, just one block from the courthouse at the center of town.
Our 1,200+ sq. ft. gem was completely renovated in 2002 with a special decorator's touch. Ideally, the home is set up for comfortable and luxurious living for a couple.
Originally, this was built as the caretaker's home for the historic Johnstone Inn, a bed and breakfast that was built by Maria Johnstone in 1897. The Johnstone Inn is now a private residence, where the owners of the two homes reside.
Views from the front deck include Ballard and Colorado Avenue to the east and a partial view of the ski area to the west. The master bedroom has a partial view of Ballard; the second bedroom has a full view of Ajax and Ingram Falls at the east end of Telluride's box canyon.
Located just off main street and three blocks from the gondola, ours is a true home away from home in a perfect location for downtown living. No need for a car, as every shop and restaurant is within walking distance.
If you're headed to Mountain Village, simply walk three blocks to the gondola which provides free transportation into the Mountain Village core. The Galloping Goose bus provides free transportation all around town, departing every 15 minutes from the courthouse (one block away.)
Numerous hiking and biking trails are 3 - 5 blocks from your door. The ski hill is three blocks away. Telluride has an amazing array of fabulous restaurants, all within a six-block stroll - the perfect distance for walking off a delicious dinner!
