Elk Crossing is a historic vacation home that has been beautifully restored. The cabin was built in 1930 on 1.5 acres in the historic Ferguson ranch area. Elk Crossing contains all of the best of the “old” with original logs for the cabin walls, 16 foot open log ceilings in the living area, hardwood floors with a beautiful wood burning moss rock fireplace; to the best of the “new” with granite counter tops, hickory cabinets and floor in the kitchen, Colorado native stone in the shower, jetted claw foot tub in the master bedroom, wireless internet, satellite TV and local phone.
The property is also frequented by white tailed deer, mule deer, elk, and hummingbirds. Many of the large ponderosa pines on the property are at least a hundred years old or more.
This is a smoke-free, pet-free home and is perfect for family get-togethers where there's enough room to spread out to be together playing games, cooking, watching movies or enjoying the hot tub.
The master bedroom contains a king bed, the two extra bedrooms contain queen beds and the sofa in the living room contains a pull out queen bed. All linens are provided including extra towels for the hot tub and blankets and throws for the cooler months of the year.
The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for meal preparation including a gas stove, electric oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, coffee maker, pots and pans, dishes, glassware, cooking utensils, silverware and linens. The dining table seats 6-8 people comfortably.
Relax on the deck or hot tub and enjoy the mountain views of Long's Peak, Mt Meeker, and Twin Sisters with aspen trees enclosing the deck. You can also barbeque using the gas grill, and enjoy the cedar swing or play shuffleboard.
The entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is just 5 minutes away, with many trails to hike, abundant trout fishing, and snowshoe and backcountry skiing in the winter time. The Eldora downhill ski area is also a short 40 minute drive away.
Fantastic white water rafting in Poudre Canyon is 30 minutes away. Downtown Estes Park is 5 minutes away with many unique stores for shopping and great dining opportunities. Elk Fest is a wonderful annual opportunity in the fall to attend in Estes Park along with the turning of the aspens and the fabulous color that fall brings.
We provide a collection of DVD's, games, and books for your additional entertainment, including information concerning local events and menus for restaurants. We also have extras to make your vacation comfortable and safe-- first aid kit, flash light, and fire extinguisher.
