I have always wanted to stay in the 4X4 area and finally got the chance this year. We found "Beach Bums" after a lengthy search and are so happy we did. The home is beautiful and very comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed and is stocked with good quality cookware. Not the dollar store stuff we are so used to seeing in rentals. There is plenty of deck space for lounging and the entertainment centers in the living room and rec. room are top notch. There are also two ice makers, so filling the coolers is never a problem. Carlos and Laura seem to have thought of everything you will need to feed and entertain a large family or group of friends. Do not let the fact the home is not "beach front" discourage you. The beach is a very short drive (or walk) away. You will be able to load up everything you need for a full day of fun without worry. You can still hear the waves at night on the deck. Along with thousands of frogs and birds. The sound that pleased me most was that of the whip-poor-wills and another species of night hawk I am not familiar with. It reminded me of nights spent with my Great-Grandfather. The home, uncrowded beach, wild horses, dolphins, pelicans, other wildlife, and the fun of driving in the sand made our stay very special. I will return next year. Sooner if possible! If you are looking for a relaxing, uncomplimented vacation, you will not be disappointed with this home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

About the owner: My name is Carlos and I am pictured here with my wife Laura Gavidia. We are from Northern Virginia. We have two children, a 10 year old boy and an 8 year old girl. We love to travel and OBX was one our favorite places to visit, particularly the Four Wheel Drive area. Since we loved the seclusion of the 4 x 4 beach and our children insisted on returning so often we knew it was time to look for property and start to build our dream vacation home. We are so happy with our beach house. Laura is an Interior Designer by profession and made this a home more then a rental. As you will see in the photos, there are endless upgrades - nothing was left for chance!
Why the Owner Chose Swan Beach:
Our kids love to run on the beach and this is the perfect spot! There can be a football field between us and the next beach bum! The beaches are wide and long and the wild horses add such at charm to the beautiful seclusion of this paradise!
