A wonderful rustic, yet spacious cabin in the shadow of Mount Hood, Oregon. Whiskey Creek Cabin provides ready access to many great places around Mount Hood.
The cabin was built in 1930 by the legendary Mount Hood wood craftsman and renowned cabin builder Henry Steiner. He and his son's built many of the cabins in the local area during the first half of the twentieth century. Henry's personal touches are everywhere that you look. Originally located at Whiskey Creek, along the Barlow Road, it was moved to it's present location near Brightwood, next to Hackett Creek, in the 1960's when the highway was widened. Whiskey Creek Cabin is also listed in the Oregon Historical Society. The cabin was renovated during 2007 and then we made it into a vacation rental early in 2008.
Whiskey Creek Cabin has been thoughtfully furnished and decorated for your comfort and relaxation. The kitchen is well stocked and there are plenty of extra linens and pillows. You wont find a minimal supply of mismatched towels, but you will find large, luxurious towels and a lot of them. That is just the beginning of the many small details that will make this your favorite retreat on the mountain. We did our best to add all the comforts of home and then some for both you and your canine friends.

Thanks for visiting my VRBO site, I'm Kory and I live and play in the Mt Hood area. Whiskey Creek Cabin has been alot of fun!. It's so great to see the same people are coming back! We have a small farm in the Welches area that I share with my husband, our 13 year old son, 3 horses, 2 Golden Retreivers, 1 Red Bone Coon Hound, 3 cats and most recently chickens and ducks!!. We enjoy riding our snowmobiles in the winter, our dirt bikes in the summer. My husband Gary likes to enjoy a round of golf while I hit the trail on my horse. Life is good when you get to live and play on Mt Hood!

We stayed at Whiskey Creek Cabin last May and I have been meaning to write a review. I cant say enough wonderful things about this property and this family. We needed a place to stay at the last moment and the owners were so wonderful and generous with us. My brother and a friend were climbing Mt Hood on my brothers birthday. My mom, sister and I fixed a carb packed birthday dinner and had a really lovely evening. It was a wonderful place to spend a sleepless night. Laying on the futon upstairs listening to the creek and watching the stars out the window. The cabin is cozy and very clean. Even our springer spaniel had a wonderful time. I would totally reccomend this rental. But I dont want to let the secret out, so that it is available when we want to go again. Which I hope is soon. Thank you to the family for everything.

Kory has provided an amazing Cabin to rent. It was very spacious and cozy. The kitchen was great, Dining room was large, and I loved how there were things for dogs. We brought our dog, and there was dog bowls and a dog bed. We played in the snow outside and drove up to gov. camp and went tubing. We enjoyed our weekend at the cabin, and will def. be back!

Our very large family gathered here for two nights over the Thanksgiving holiday. We had 5 adults and 7 kids (under the age of 8)! This was such a fun cabin, it really felt rustic! We also brought two huge golden retrievers with us and there was plenty of room for them. Kory had all the extras so it felt like a hotel but in our own cabin! Our first night there we turned out all the lights and had the light from the moon as we told ghost stories to the kids before bed! This was a great getaway with all the comforts of home. I highly recommend this place for a romantic getaway in the woods or for a large family gathering with lots of loud children! Either way, you can't go wrong.

We just returned from celebrating our Christmas at this beautiful cabin. My husband, our two teen girls and little Schnauzer had a wonderful time staying at this cozy place. First, we were happy that a little store was just up the street and that the area isn't too populated, it was laid back. The cabin itself is amazing, my husband fell in love with the craftsmanship and spent the first day/eve walking around w/a mini flashlight checking out the woodwork. Kory has thought of everything you could possibly need, plenty of firewood, great kitchen, and cozy all around. I cooked a full 4 course Christmas dinner, and it was perfect. Our only complaint was that we all got very sleepy all the time due to the coziness! Ha! We also played some mean Monopoly by the fire. We look forward to staying again! Thanks for being such a great hostess Kory and going out of the way to even deliver us more towels and things on Christmas day! The Compton family
