Year Purchased: 2002
I am a retired professor, and my wife a physician, currently working in the North East. We have 2 adult children who live away, and Bingo, our 3-yr old mixed-breed (Norwich Terrier and Corgi)live with us. We used to vacation in Daytona Beach often when we did not have Bingo. Bingo's extreme dislike of car travel has caused us to cut down on our Daytona trips. Hence, our decision to rent the property.
Why the Owner Chose Mediterranean
Over the last 20 years or so, my wife and I traveled all across Florida coastlines to find an ideal retirement home for us -- a beach home where summers are moderate, winters comfortable and neighbors friendly, and in walking distance to a hospital and nice restaurants. We found that in the Mediterranean on Daytona Beach. We enjoy sunrises over the ocean under us, and sunsets over the Intracoastal Waterway to the east from our 12th floor Condo. The luxurious interior is the extra touch that made the sale for us. Now, only if both of us could retire!
