This guest house is truly your 'home away from home' and is centrally located to all Northern California has to offer. It is three miles from Downtown Los Gatos and resides on a five-acre property in a lovely country setting. After a full day of touring you can come back to lounge by the pool, have a swim, take a spa or just relax.

Los Gatos is a town in Northern California nestled in the foothills west of San Jose and has a wonderful downtown area with many restaurants and shops. The town prides itself on retaining its 'early California' feel with many of its original Craftsman and Victorian-style homes. There are many walking, hiking, and biking trails right at your doorstep as well as in and around town.

The guest house is 5 years old and was built and designed with every comfort in mind. There is a full kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher. The dining table seats four and up to eight people when expanded. There is a television with DirecTV, DVD Player, VCR along with a Stereo with CD player. It is 650 square feet that 'live big' with 17 foot high ceilings. It has beautiful hardwood floors throughout and lots of glass to take in the beautiful California Oaks on the property... We've had some guest say with the shades up they feel like they are in a big tree house!

The guest house is a freestanding unit that sits over the garage & is connected to the ownerGÇÖs main house by a breezeway, The property itself is 5 wooded acres with a barn & corral, The guest house is 'California Lodge' style & is comfortably furnished, very 'Pottery Barn, ' All bed linens and towels are provided, Pool towels are also available on request, A starter supply of coffee, tea, milk & sugar are provided & there is a filtered water & ice dispenser on the refrigerator, The Guest house has a Full Kitchen with Dining adjacent to Living Area, First Bedroom with Queen bed, Second Bedroom with 2 twins & Full Bath with shower, Front door of guest house leads to a private deck with outdoor table & chairs that overlook the pool, There is also a Hotspring Spa! There is a Thermador Grill on the pool deck for afternoon/evening barbecuing, Will provide additional pictures of guest house & property upon request.

With this central location you are 3 miles to San Jose, 25 miles to Santa Cruz, 70 miles to Monterey & Carmel as well as just 55 miles to San Francisco, The local area has much to offer, Villa Montalvo in Monte Sereno & The Mountain Winery in Saratoga has its concert series which run spring through fall, There are many local area wineries which are open for tours & tasting such as David Bruce, Cinnabar, Kathryn Kennedy & Testarossa to name a few, Our local redwoods are just over the hill at Big Basin State Park as well as the ocean, beach & Beach Boardwalk in Santa Cruz, Located just 15 miles from San Jose International & 43 miles from San Francisco International.

  • My family and I had a great 10 day stay at the MacBeth guesthouse. The property is beautiful situated in the in the hills behind Los Gatos. The guest house comes with all the comforts of a small home, and appears very new and clean. The MacBeth's were friendly and also respected our privacy. A perfect place to stay when visiting the Bay Area. Thanks again!

  • Our stay here was perfect. It was so much better than any hotel. We all loved the pool and our son still talks about the trampoline and "Cody's house"(Cody is one of the dogs our son, who is 3, loved to throw the ball for). We had a hard time coming home after our stay here.

  • My wife and I stayed a week in the guesthouse in March. The guesthouse exceeded our expectations. It was spotless and very well equipped. The location can't be beat - very close to San Jose, but in the country. We didn't have time to take advantage of all the facilities and the hosts were more than willing to take care of any problems. Highly recommended.

  • I recently stayed at the MacBeth guesthouse for a week( Feb 15-22, 2008). It is as nice or nicer than the pictures on the VRBO website! The dogs are very friendly and the hot tub was great after my 80 mile bicycle rides! It is also convenient to the airport and downtown Los Gatos. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay that wants something larger and nicer than a hotel room.

  • Linda and I spent a week in October 2007 while visiting our son who lives in Los Gatos. We enjoyed the accommodations very much. Kim and family were very gracious and afforded us all of the privacy we desired. The guesthouse was clean, well appointed and well maintained. We would definitely consider staying again.

  • Our family (2 adults, 2 children) spent 5 weeks in the guest house last summer (late June and July) and had a wonderful time. The house is a perfect setup to feel at home - fully functional kitchen, clean and comfortable bathroom and bedrooms. The use of the outdoor grill, outdoor pool and hot tub was a wonderful addition. The location is great (quiet!), and a short drive into downtown Los Gatos and all that it has to offer. The Macbeth's were great hosts. We'd most definitely stay again.

  • My friends and I stayed here when we came out to see Crowded House at the Mountain Winery in August 2007. Usually places I've booked on the internet are a bit less than advertised, but the guest house exceeded my expectations 2-fold. (Or even 3-fold!) The location is perfect, and the house itself is extremely charming and very comfortable. It was nice having the dogs around, since I was missing my own pup back home. I enjoyed an evening of sitting in the fabulous hot tub and playing a game of fetch with one of the terriers. I would really recommend this place to anyone who is looking for lodging in this area. And you can't beat the price, I think they are under-charging. Thanks, Kim, for a great stay.
