If you enjoy nature and want to experience the uniqueness of life on the bayou, this is the perfect vacation home. This rustic home is nestled amongst cypress trees and is reminiscent of the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, complete with a rainwater-fed pond underneath the deck that adjoins the two separate wings of the lower level. It is located on seven acres with natural foliage with a wooden pathway to the dock that is on Bayou Liberty. The front of the cedar home is covered in vines and faces the pool, the back of the home faces the bayou. Lake Pontchartrain is a short boat ride away where speckled trout is the desired catch of the day. Bring your boat and use the boat house with a hoist, or use the flat boat to troll down the canal which leads to the bayou.
The house has an additional rental unit on the upper floor. It has one bedroom, one bath, living and dining room with a complete kitchen. There is a deck which overlooks the marsh and bayou. It is an additional $100.00 per night when renting the lower floor. It's the perfect place for a family gathering with the feeing of two separate homes.
The main wing on the lower level has a large living room with the bayou view and a porch for sitting outside and enjoying the view. The complete kitchen faces the slate colored, saltwater pool. There is one bedroom in this wing with a queen-sized posturepedic bed and a large handicap accessible bathroom.
The other wing is attached by a walkway which has the pond underneath. There is a Corinthian wind chime and the sound of the fountains in the pond and the wind chime are exceptionally nice features. This wing has two bedrooms and another bath. The main bedroom has a queen-sized posturepedic bed and the smaller bedroom has a double bed.
The home is close enough to visit New Orleans or just stay at home and enjoy the serenity of the bayou and pool.
