Paris Arrondissement 6 apartment description
This exquisite gem is located on Rue des Grands Augustins, one block away from the river in beautiful Saint Germain.
It is kitty corner from the luxury Relais Christine hotel as well as being steps away from the restaurant of three star Michelin chef Jacques Cagna. Known for its numerous cafes and stylish shops, this area is always buzzing with vitality.
The apartment is on the first floor (one flight of stairs up from the ground floor) of an 18th century building. With windows that look over the interior cobblestone courtyard, the apartment is calm and quiet.
Fully restored and decorated with impeccable taste, the property is extremely well laid out. With about 400 square feet of space, one bedroom, and a convertible sofa in the living room, it can accommodate up to 4 guests.
Living Room and Dining Room:
Upon entering the apartment, there is a large space with tall windows which incorporates the living room, dining area and open kitchen. Wall to wall restored oak floors along with a gorgeous period marble fireplace give a sense of history.
Professionally decorated in light neutral tones, the apartment is a study in understated elegance. There is a comfortable couch (that converts into a sofa bed), a wooden coffee table, a leather ottoman, and a round dining table with matching upholstered chairs.
There is a flat screen cable television that receives international channels such as BBC World and CNN International.
The antique patina dining table overlooks the courtyard and can seat up to four people.
The bedroom features a tall Queen size bed dressed in quality linens with a beige toile de jouy bed skirt, down pillows and a duvet. There is one large window, with drapes, that overlooks the interior courtyard of the building. The bedroom has tall hanging closets as well as wall sconces for reading in bed. The bedroom decoration is finished with a kartell design chair and a convenient desk for working.
The brand new open kitchen with custom cabinetry is fully equipped. The kitchen is outfitted with sink, dishwasher, washer / dryer, refrigerator, freezer, electric vitro-ceramic stove, electric oven, hood fan and microwave.
There is one new beige marble shower room in the apartment that adjoins the bedroom. The bathroom has beautiful chrome fixtures including a rain shower head.
The separate powder room is accessible from the living room making it ideal for entertaining. It has a toilet and a washbasin.
This charming St Germain apartment has undergone a full renovation to enhance its historic beauty while integrating modern comforts. The apartment has beautiful original hardwood floors and large windows in every room.
Architectural features include an original fireplace and crown moldings.

Pleasant stay in Paris
Pleasant stay in Paris
We enjoyed a pleasant 5 days in St Germain, the apartment was clean, stylish with bed and linen 1st class.Located in a quiet street with an easy walk up 1 foor. Occasional general noise from apartment above, but not too distracting. Would recommend to friends wanting central location in St Germain with no vehicle. Good restaurant at "Chez Fernand Christine" on Rue Christine ,2 mins walk

An Ideal Location
An Ideal Location
This apartment is perfectly suited for a couple. It is indeed very compact but cleverly designed to make the most of the available space. The photos accurately show the apartment though it was slightly smaller than we had expected - as are almost all of the hotel rooms in Paris. However, we found it to be well equipped and obviously the problems the previous reviewer experienced have been attended to. The bed was very comfortable and we found the height of the bed allowed suitcases to be stored underneath, which we rolled out to access clothing that was not hanging or on the shelf above. There was plenty of hot water in the bathroom and a proper shower screen. The toilet is separate. When we compare the cost and size of a hotel room to the amenities of this apartment, the apartment wins hands down. The location could not be improved. This is one of the most centrally located areas for walking, the metro and RER, and for shopping, with rue de Buci and rue de Seine a highlight. Cafes and restaurants literally surround you. Highly recommend Cafe Conti for morning coffee. We have previously stayed in another apartment in this area and found noise at night to be a problem. Because this apartment is at the back of a small courtyard and not overlooking a street, we slept soundly and undisturbed. It was a very quiet haven to return to each day. If you're looking for a quiet and comfortable place to stay and don't mind a compact space, with amenities to self-cater or a location to enjoy all that is wonderful about Paris (street-life and good food) then this apartment is ideal.

Good news is apartment is as pictured and described: great location, attractive and newer decor, high end appointments in kitchen and bath. Apartment is quiet and very clean. Apartment is very small. Storage for hanging clothes was fine but no drawers for folded clothes, spent entire week stepping over suitcases because they had to serve as drawer space. Property focuses on design which is very good but some important basics were totally unacceptable. For example, there were 5 bath towels for our use, all grey, dingy and thin and to make things worse three of them had rips/tears of 6 inches or more (I have the photos for the incredulous readers but owner/manegement company has not asked to see them!) The hand towel in the toilet room was from Novotel hotel chain. We wanted kitchen capability of apartment vs hotel, to enjoy some of the beautiful foods we always see on nearby Rue de Buci.. Could not get oven to work, only got a message on digital screen, something about "securitee" and there was no owners manual. Cooktop also wouldn't work at first but found owners manual and figured out that there was a childproof lock on it (totally unnecessary to deploy because the cooktop requires a lot of pressure to activate anything and I cannot imagine the apartment accomodating any more than one adult couple). The kitchen basics were unacceptable, the worst appointed kitchen we have seen. For example, one thin bladed dull knife for cutting, good thing husband had a pocketknife/corkscrew in his luggage. We have owned rental property in Kiawah SC, like Paris, a high priced real estate and rental market, and the appontments in this apartment would not be acceptable in Kiawah, why should they be in Paris? Ironically, husband and I were really looking forward to this apartment, it was a milestone birthday celebration, and it turned out to be one of the biggest (and certainly most expensive) mistakes in 25 years of travel, at least 4 weeks of travel a year. I do a lot of research on places to stay and can only think of two real disappointments other than this in all that time. Even worse, the rental company asked for my review, which I gave them a week ago, and they have neither posted the review nor contacted me about this issues I raised. Issue is not with apartment per se but price paid was for top quality experience and this place fell way short. And lack of interest by property company just adds to disappointment.

Manager response: I was very disappointed to receive this review and did not receive any comments from this client previous to this review. Had we known, we would have reacted immediately. We have taken the comments seriously and have bought new towels and have re-equipped the kitchen. There are some shelves in a cupboard for storing folded clothes The cooktop comes with the security button as standard. I did respond immediately when I was contacted by email when the client had difficulty using the washing machine during her stay but that was the only communication from the client. The apartment is in an exclusive part of St Germain and the price is commensurate with this area of Paris.
A little gem of an apartment in St. Germain
A little gem of an apartment in St. Germain
A little gem of an apartment…just steps away from gourmet restaurants, boulangeries…and a short walk to the River Seine, Louvre, Notre Dame. Truly an ideal location for a stay in Paris. The apartment is a brilliant use of space, containing all needed amenities. We especially liked the Nespresso maker! The contact people were very helpful with any questions & recommendations.

My husband and I stayed in the apt for one week and were more than happy with our choice. The aprt is well located, quiet, spotless, warm and cosy and was a joy to come home to in the evenings. There is secuirty coded access which was important to us. The bed is comfy, shower pressure is good and the facilitles are modern and convenient. Metro is just minutes walk away as is all the cafes/restaurants etc. The company is professional and courteous, respond rapidly to any enquires and I defintely recommend the apt and company who made our stay a pleasure. Thanks so much and very happy we had such a wonderful experience.
