The Location: Moonlight Basin, Big Sky, Montana, USA. Moonlight Basin is a luxury ski resort located beside the Big Sky resort, one hour from Bozeman, Mt. The two resorts share Lone Peak and are connected by numerous ski runs.

Our luxuriously appointed ski-in/ski-out Moonlight home is in the Alpine Meadows area, just before the incredible Moonlight ski lodge. This nearly 2,600 ft. home has some of the best views on the mountain and all the peace and quiet you need for an incredible stay.

You have front door ski in/ ski out access to over 5,500 skiable acres at Moonlight Basin and Big Sky Resort, and all the amenities you could ask for in a luxurious top of the line ski and summer vacation home. The Alpine Meadows area only has 8 units, so it is very private, yet close to all of Moonlight's amenities. There is ample parking outside. The roads and driveway are plowed in winter, and the home entrance is shoveled after each snow.
The layout of our home is designed for maximum comfort. There are four bedrooms, each with private bath. The kitchen features professional grade stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. The floors have radiant heat, and there is an endless hot water system so everyone gets a hot shower to start and end the day.
Enjoy your own professionally-maintained 6-8 person hot tub outside just off the ski run to soothe your sore muscles. The home has fantastic views over the Big Sky Resort and Gallatin River Range. With huge windows, the home is filled with sun all day long.
The master bedroom, on the upper level, has a king bed, huge private bath with two sinks and enormous shower, and deck access. The lower level features a second master, with king bed, private bath, and direct access to the hot tub! Bedroom 3 is on the lower level with queen bed and private bath.
The fourth bedroom on the lower level has long twins and private bath. There is an additional inflatable double bed with sheets and blankets stored for additional sleeping space if required. The home has washer/ dryer, another half bath in the entry, and a drying room for ski boots and gear. There is ample dry wood provided for fires.
Big Sky and Moonlight Basin combined their ski terrain in 2006 to form the largest skiable terrain in North America with more than 5500 acres of skiing. If you have never been to Big Sky, you must try it. There is something for everyone -- incredible technical steep gullies and mountain faces for the expert, and long empty greens and blues for the beginner and intermediate skiers. Lift lines are non-existent at Moonlight, even during peak season.
The ski path from our home leads directly down to the main Moonlight’s Madison base area, home for the ski school, equipment rental, and Madison restaurant. Moonlight also features the most beautiful ski lodge in America, open to everyone, where you can relax during the day or after skiing. It’s just a quarter mile from our home. You can walk, ski, or drive there in just a minute or so.
Summer at Moonlight is just as incredible. The Moonlight Resort is full of walking and wildlife viewing opportunities. The Gallatin River, featured in the movie "A River Runs Through It", runs through Big Sky and offers some of the best blue-ribbon fishing in North America. There are numerous lakes and rivers to fish a short drive from home, and local guide services to assist you.
Other close activities include whitewater rafting on the Gallatin, guided horse riding in the mountains, and dog-sledding and snowmobiling Yellowstone Park is about an hour’s drive away. In winter, Yellowstone is a mecca for snowmobiling and wildlife viewing. In summer, it’s hiking, horse riding, thermal geyser viewing, and fishing!

We stayed at this fantastic property in February 2012 and what a great time we had!! We have spent a lot of time in Colorado and absolutely fell in love with everything about Big Sky / Moonlight Basin and this Alpine Meadows property. The experience by Kirsten and team was well thought out and executed flawlessly. What a pleasure it was to work with them. We had two small families and had plenty of room. If you have any doubts about booking this property, you can lay them to rest. You will have a great time! We are already looking at booking our trip for next year. It can't come soon enough.

We were very impressed with Kirsten, Kris and the whole property management team. We have been renting homes in the west for almost 20 years and this is the first time that we have had someone meet us at the house to make sure that everything was in order and that we new how to operate all of the appliances and, most importantly, the hot tub. The took care of everything that we asked for and provided great local recommendations. This house too was very well appointed. The furnishings were top of the line, the beds very comfortable and the kitchen stocked with all that you need to make gourmet meals. Our only complaint is that there was no convenient place to put skis and boots when coming off of the mountain.
