We stayed in this lovely cabin the last week of 2012. It was perfect for our family with 3 kids - 7, 5, 2. The ample outside space allowed the kids to practice their soccer skills every day. The kitchen was well-stocked and the heater worked very well. We loved the breakfast table with the great view of Cathedral Rock. We saw a rather large coyote on our drive back to the cabin one evening. The owner Marcia recommended the Heartline Cafe where we had a delicious four course Christmas dinner. On the last day it snowed and was absolutely gorgeous. Nice selection of reading material and games. Sedona is a lovely town and a great base for exploring the area. We did several nearby hikes and went to the mining town of Jerome for a day. We also visited Walnut Canyon, Tuzigoot and Montezuma castle national monuments all of which have ancient Indian dwellings. The older kids were proud of the Junior Ranger park badges they earned. We never turned on the TV or used the iPad the whole week! We stayed in a few hotels following our stay in Sedona and we really missed the extra space and privacy the cabin provided.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This cabin is a little gem! We found it to be a perfect hideaway for our last few days in Sedona. Very comfy and restful. As everyone has said, there's an awesome view of Cathedral Rock from the oversized window in the front room, and very quick access to the creek. Some more things we appreciated: the owner's notes and suggestions about the area, the great washer + dryer (nice to be able to wash our hiking clothes and have fresh clean laundry for the road trip home), the dog-friendly policy and doggie dishes left for our little pup, and my favorite: the VERY dark skies at night here! Unbeatable stargazing! We also appreciated the owner's quick, helpful and friendly responses to our questions, and her going the extra mile to accommodate our last second extension request. You can tell that she really cherishes this place and wants all of her guests to have the best possible experience while they're here.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

My husband and I spent two quiet, peaceful weeks in Sedona and found this cabin to be a great home base. It was out of the hustle and bustle of Sedona itself, while being only minutes from anything and everything. The cabin is in a quiet neighborhood near Crescent Moon Ranch and has an incredible view of Cathedral Rock out the front window. We found ourselves looking forward to that view first thing in the morning--with our morning coffee. And the coyote ambling through the yard enhanced the view even more. The cabin was clean, well stocked and comfortable. And what a bonus to have a Red Rock Pass to get into all of the National Forest hiking areas, as hiking was our primary activity while there. Marcia, the owner, was very helpful with all of our questions and provided us with suggestions for hiking and other things. All in all we had a great time and would recommend this place to anyone that wants a quiet experience out of the mainstream of tourists in Sedona.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

Our stay in Sedona was wonderfully enhanced by the warmth and serenity of our charming Oak Creek cabin ~ recalling a simpler, less 'touristy' time in Sedona, with access to one of the most enchanting areas in the Verde Valley....hiking the trails in and around the Cathedral Rock area. A travel adventure with 2 friends was made thoroughly enjoyable-- with plenty of space to share, all the thoughtful conveniences of home, trails at our doorstep, passes to hiking adventures and easy access to Sedona and Cottonwood. The cabin serves as a cozy retreat and a wonderful home base for experiencing the wonders of the 'Land of Ah's'. Truly a treasure - highly recommended!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband, Ray, my dog, Jackson, and I spent an absolutely wonderful week at the cabin hiking, painting, resting and enjoying lovely dinners on the porch with an incredible view. We felt like we were in heaven. It was quiet, fresh, comfortable, safe, and just spectacular. Marcia was so helpful when I e-mailed her with questions. We will definitely recommend it to friends and come again. Thank you for sharing your special cabin.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I felt at home as soon as we pulled in the drive. The cabin was inviting and contained everything we could ask and then some. There were more than enough linens and kitchen supplies. And the "then some" included satellite TV, free phone privileges (within the USA) and a Red Rock Pass. The TV was appreciated so we could watch the news, the phone so we could contact our loved ones (our cell phone reception was terrible, even with Verizon) and the Red Rock Pass so we could visit all the wonderful parks and trails in the area, e.g. Crescent Moon Ranch and Bell Rock Pathway. We slept in the master bedroom and were very comfortable. The cabin was nice and warm even when we set the thermostat to 60 degrees or lower, especially if you kept the ceiling fan on. We only lit a fire the one night we had dinner in the cabin, but it was awesome. We moved the wicker loveseat over near the fireplace and sat watching the flames. Very cozy. Our time in Sedona went by so quickly and we think part of it was because we had such a nice place to stay in! We would recommend this place to people who like quiet surroundings, away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy areas along routes 89A and 179. The cabin is also great for those who like adventure and nature. We saw so much wild life just while walking around the area: a herd of javelinas, a coyote, a covey of partridges, hawks, and also small birds living in the juniper trees. The walk to Crescent Moon Ranch is a must-do. You could see tracks of all kinds of animals in the loose clay along the wash that runs roughly parallel to Chavez Ranch Road. And except for having to cross Chavez Ranch Road towards the very end, you are surrounded by greenery the whole way. Let's not forget the view of Cathedral Rock from the living room window! We couldn't get over how neat that was! Sunset is the ideal time to view Cathedral Rock from the cabin, but it is great to see it throughout the day - the view keeps changing. A typical day for us would start off with breakfast in the cabin, going for a hike, then back to the cabin for lunch, and then we'd go for another hike. The drive along Upper Red Rock Loop down to the cabin is amazing by itself, but knowing the comfort that awaits you at the end of that road, is the greatest reward. We would most definitely stay here again! Thank you, Marcia and Ken, for providing us with this excellent alternative to a hotel room.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family (two adults and kids 6 and 10) had a wonderful time in this cabin. The kids particularly liked playing in the loft. I particularly like that there weren't many knick knacks around that could get broken, though it did not seem sparsely decorated. It was perfect in that regard. It was clean and comfortable, had an amazing view, peace and quiet, and had all the amenities we needed. It was a convenient location to scenic hiking but was not far at all from stores and restaurants. Marcia, the owner, provided excellent customer service. I'd definitely recommend it to friends as it worked so well for us and was affordable.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is a wonderful cabin to stay in. Very comfortable with all the amenities and a beautiful view from the picture window of Cathedral Rock. It's a great place for a couple and your dogs! If the stream is dry, be sure and walk to the left of the cabin for a mile or so - fantastic scenery. We will return some day.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband is a pastor and we were on Sabbatical. We were looking for an affordable place to stay while we visited Arizona. This cabin was the perfect choice! It is a fully equipped home in a wonderful setting. There are many places to hike within walking and driving distance. Even though there are homes in the same area we never heard the neighbors. It was a very peaceful week in a beautiful place! The owner, Marcia, was a pleasure to rent from. If we ever get another opportunity to go to the area, we definitely will stay here!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, sightseeing.

My dogs and I spent a very enjoyable two weeks here. The view out the picture window was heaven and I never was tired of looking at it. The cabin itself was small but very adequate for a single adult accompanied by two large dogs but would be cramped for 6 adults, however, a family with children would find it very comfortable. Hiking trails are very close and the scenery is to die for. We walked to Crescent Moon Ranch several times while we were there and the dogs enjoyed swims in Oak Creek. My only complaint was that the internet connection stopped working after only two days but a vacation is really about getting away from all that anyway. A washer and dryer on the premise were definately a plus and the property was clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend this rental property.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We list the cabin as sleeping six, but do not rent it as such unless it is a family with children. I am heartened that when internet is not available, we can take our focus to the natural environment, which is exactly why we maintained this cabin as a cabin retreat! (And there are instructions in the drawer below the router about who to call with internet problems if one needs that).

My family and I spent 8 delightful days at the cottage at the end of May. Everyone loved it. It is great for kids and pets. It is a cosy and comfortable place. The view is fantastic. The dining room faces Cathedral Rock. It is a quiet area minutes away from Red Rock State park. A wonderful place to rent in Sedona. We are planning on renting there again in the near future. The area has so much to offer, 8 days were not enough. Marcia, the owner, is a very nice lady to speak to and she was very helpful. A delightful experience!
