Our home has been designed as a escape from the rest of the world. A place where we could enjoy a lifestyle similar to that of a private resort in Mexico. My wife and I wanted a place where when we were able take a reprieve from our daily lives where we would feel as though we were off on a special vacation. The main house is reminiscent of a warm and comfortable hacienda. It is surrounded on two sides by a veranda where you can escape the sun or watch the sun set on the Pacific Ocean.
The property is isolated from the street by a six foot wall that affords us privacy and a sense of intimacy. There is a large kitchen/family room area with a fireplace and large screen TV and DirectTV in addition to all the other electronics. Because our lifestyle is oriented to the outdoors, there is a very large patio area complete with our very own Cantina/Restaurant. La Cantina de los Pescadores y Amigos (The Cantina of the Fishermen and friends), is a complete mini bar and restaurant. There is a sit down bar with a commercial stainless steel back bar, sit down dining for eight, BBQ, micro-wave, complete kitchen with dishes, silverware, and serving pieces, a dishwasher and two refrigerators. The Cantina complex also contains a Jacuzzi, gym, bathroom with a shower and an upper deck "crows nest" for viewing exceptional sunsets or enjoying brunch.
All of this is a 5 minute walk from the beach, the Cedros Design District, numerous restaurants and shopping. Also, within a mile, you have the Del Mar racetrack and live thoroughbred racing during the summer and Off Track wagering year round. Should you decide to go to downtown San Diego or Disneyland, the train station is a very short walk.
