Lake Limerick can be reached using 1-5, then Highway 16 across the Narrows Bridge to Purdy, WA. Then Highway 302 and Highway 3 to Shelton or 1-5 to Olympia, WA and then 101 N to Shelton - approx. 10 miles further via Olympia but a toss up time wise from Seattle/Tacoma area.
The deck pretty much encircles the house. It's a great place as you can walk to the tennis court-right next door, golf- the 1st tee is right across the street, park next door with swings and the country club.
Renters can use the country club with prior approval. The food is wonderful and very reasonable. This is a casual country club. It is open Wednesday thru Sunday. The fee is $35.and is subject to approval by the country club.
Also the pro shop at the course has a restaurant. The golf course is open to the public and does have rental clubs, beautiful course with tough greens. Within 15 miles of the lake there are several casinos, many golf courses and other beautiful lakes and resorts on Hoods Canal. Approx.20 miles from Shelton is the southeast corner of Olympic National Park and the Wonder Mountain Wilderness area. Or you can drive to the north side of the park by going to Port Angeles, WA, where just a few miles away is Hurricane Ridge and many other beautiful spots. Also at Port Angeles you can take a wonderful ferry ride to Victoria British Columbia which is on Vancouver Island. A very scenic place for sure. From there you can ketch a ferry over to Vancouver B.C. another world class city. Or your home away from home will also be your gateway to the Washington coast at beautiful Ocean Shores,WA. which is less than 75 miles away and of course you can take in all the beautiful surroundings.
If you were to bring your boat to the lake there some restrictions. Maximum length is 19ft. and can only be used for fishing. No water skiing as it is for home owners only as there are many rules. At the right front of the country club is a small island which is accessible by a foot bridge. There is a designated swimming area here which is surrounded by buoys which keeps the swimmers safe from the boat traffic. Many summer weddings on this island.
There are balcony's off of all three bedrooms and the master bedroom is super. This home has many windows and particularly in the master bedroom which has the early morning sun coming in. We furnish eye shades if you wish to use them. Master bed is king other two beds are queen size.
Also this home has an outside shower with hot water. We also furnish 4 tennis rackets and a few balls for your use.

The Unique Benefits at this House
Its so peaceful and quiet. You can enjoy a wonderful walk thru the golf course, maybe see some deer, and all the gorgeous homes and their owners unique paths to the golf course trails which allows them to walk or ride their golf carts to the club house. Or you can watch the water skiers or sailboats go by from the lawn in front which is in the shade by mid afternoon.

We are five business women who needed a retreat location and we were extremely pleased with our choice at this Limerick Lake waterfront house. The owner was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. The interior was clean and well furnished in 1980's style. The kitchen had the best selection of dishes and cooking pans/utensils/ etc. that we've come across out of 8 houses we've rented. We underestimated how much enjoyment the lake would add to our overall experience. It was lively on the weekend with various boats, canoes, kayaks, swimmers, and fishermen going by. We could stand on our dock and watch the fish swim by below us. We all sat on the dock with favorite beverages in hand while dangling our legs in the water. Above flew geese, ducks, kingfishers, and a bald eagle who favored a nearby fir tree. Good weather led to numerous campfires dotting the lake's edge after dark, giving it a fun "camping out" atmosphere while having the luxury of a tidy home with plenty of bathrooms. We followed the example and used the fire pit for campfires two nights, complete with toasted marshmallows, while spotting numerous satellites and shooting stars crossing overhead. Early mornings were surreal, silent except for the occasional call of waterfowl, with mist rising from the glassy lake surface. We spent so much time in the backyard, both day and night, that we never used the living room even once. I did see a number of children's games available in the living room and the lake is very shallow near the shore so good for children as long as they can swim or are well chaperoned. This is a great place to select as a destination. A very good value for the price. It's a bit of a long drive to other attractions, and we were disappointed to find only one restaurant open in Shelton on Sunday when we drove in for a bite to eat. Poor planning on our part. The grounds were very well kept up, something that is often lacking in vacation rentals. We would come here again. It was very hard to leave.

Returned to this beautiful home exactly a year later and enjoyed everything all over again. This time I brought my 10 month old daughter and she enjoyed crawling around the backyard and playing in the water. I will definitely be returning.

My wife and I needed a place to spend a weekend so we could invite my family up for a gathering before I left for Iraq. The house was amazing and it would be difficult to find a nicer place and an equally hospitable host. The water was excellent for trout fishing from the bank and the BBQ pit in the back yard was excellent for grilling, smores, and just hanging out. The only neighbor was nice and welcoming and the area itself was an excellent place to relax. If the house is still available I plan on visiting again upon my return. I
