Our home was built in 1975. We have 2 terraces to take advantage of prevailing soft breezes. Our pool has a solar heater and spectacular views. We are on a 60 acre parcel with 8 other homes. We are at the top of the hill on an excellent private road.
The feeling of privacy and tranquility is delightful. Indoors and outdoors this is a special spot. Outside the plantings are captivating Inside is like living outside. The living room kitchen is large and open. Bedrooms feature 2 king (1 Tempurpedic) and 2 twin. The walls of the house are large glass sliding doors making every wall a view. We are restaurant people and have one of the better kitchens available.

Year Purchased: 1998
Honor and Rick. We are transplanted Mainers. We sold our restaurant of 22 years and moved to the vacation home of Honor's parents- Touchstone Vieques. We have loved this property since completion in 1978. It is a joy and a privilege to be here.
Why the Owner Chose Pilon
Vieques is a different Caribbean island. It has less rain and humidity than Puerto Rico, making the climate as perfect as I can imagine. The beaches are magnificent. There is enough of civilization to stimulate and tranquility is minutes away.
The Unique Benefits of this House
There are wonderful gardens -30 years of dedication. There are Bronze sculptures by Edith Huffard. Nature has left giant boulders everywhere, One is large enough to have chairs a superior view of the sunset. Life at the top of this hill is extremely private and very comfortable

We stayed at Touchstone for a week in January 2011. We have been going to Vieques for 10 years and this was our first year at Touchstone. Three couples stayed very comfortably perched on top of the hill with a breath taking view of the island and ocean. It was like staying in a tree house with floor to ceiling windows, gorgeous landscaping, refreshing pool, great kitchen, lots of privacy and amazing sunrise and sunset views. Rick and Honor have impeccable taste from the sculptures to the hand made pottery in the kitchen to the art work to the way they have made the home feel very much like you are living outdoors. We can not wait to return again and again.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
