Oh man was this condo beautiful small and quaint just like an hotel room just minus the expensive charges, actually Marriott was next door and we used the hotel to book our tours, to eat breakfast, and relax around their pool and party in their lobby club, many couples actually we believe we we're staying at the Marriott, every night we slept with the windows open to the sound of the waves crashing against beach, i swear we slept better there than in our own beds( must be the fresh air). As for the building, lock tighter than Fort Knox but easily accessible. The pics are true but doesn't do the view and vantage points justice, real down to earth neighbors. Also one tip dont bring to much Debora and her husband truly have provided everything you need minus your clothes. Whenever my wife and I visit Puerto Rico again this is the only place we're staying, Thanks Debora for such a stylish and accessible placeRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This apartment on the beach was fantastic! Everything we needed, including a great location, Condado, with shopping, great restaurants and miles of walkable, swimable beach. This was our first visit to PR and although it was short (only 4 days), we were definitely in the perfect location to explore San Juan. We didn't have a car and walked one day to old San Juan (5 miles) to explore. We also walked to nearby neighborhoods and experienced the great food that PR has to offer. The view from the apartment cannot be beat. We kept the wall of windows open and enjoyed the ocean breezes and people watching on the beach. The apartment was well stocked with a kitchen where we made breakfasts and the closet that had beach chairs and a perfect shade umbrella. We would take these to the beach everyday and enjoy the ocean. I cannot say enough about this great apartment and dealing with the owner, Debora was a pleasure. She was responsive and followed through and followed up with everything she said she would do, which I appreciated. We LOVED it! We are actually trying to plan a family vacation here and are looking in to booking additional apartments in the same building! Debora was great to work with. She trusted us, and we totally trusted her! The maintenance man, George, and the cleaning lady, Marian (sp?) were wonderful. We also met a few of the permanent residents, and they were helpful and kind as well. The view from the apartment was spectacular! The apartment itself was modern and clean, well-equipped, bug-free. My boyfriend and I spend a very good time during the Thanksgiving long weekend. The weather wasn't the most cooperative because it was raining most of the time but we love P.R. especially Condado. The condo is very clean with a wonderful ocean view. Yes, it is true what one the reviews said about the facade of the building; it is in very bad shape but who cares the apartment is great. Waking around even late at night is very secure because they have a lot of security plus the beach is awesome. To eat I recommended you the sushi place right at the corner or if you wanna go fancy, try Picayo it is very expensive but very high-end cuisine. I'll stay there again..Owner response: Thank you for the wonderful review. It was our pleasure to accommodate your stay. I just wanted to inform future guests that construction to re-face the building is underway. The salt air is hard on things but the good news is, the building is getting a face-lift.

While we had a good stay overall, there are some things I have mixed feelings about. I do want to point out that Debora is an absolute pleasure to interact with. She's very personable and very interested in providing you with a great stay. No beating the location - it really is close to everything, starbucks, Marriott, shops/restaurants, 24-hr Walgreens, car rental, 20 min SJU airport (cab ride $15-20 depending on how much luggage you're carrying), beach front & the view is really spectacular. I was sold on that alone. The apt has all you'll need & more. It is well equipped, the beach chairs, beach towels & little cooler is a nice detail. BUT the furniture is not as pristine as the pictures show, there is wear and tear. The building where the apartment is in it's in bad shape. It's a small building with about 3-4 apts on each floor, the facade is deteriorating, it really could use an upgrade or at least good maintenance. I should also point out this is a motel style property - the apt units are not in a closed walled building, they are in the open. One of the adjacent buildings appears abandoned. In the apt there are TWO (??) AC units, one facing the beach and one above the entrance door and BOTH ARE VERY LOUD! That was very annoying. We only kept one of the ac units on but the temperature control was impossible on both -- too too cold or not cold enough. Firguring it out how to operate it is another story. This really should be fixed and a sheet on how to operate it provided. This can be problematic if you're staying more than 3 days. We dealt with it. Another thing is having to have a set of 6 bulky keys mailed prior to your stay, who wants to carry all those keys (forbid you lose them) - gate key to enter property, building door key to enter building, elevator key and three apt keys. One thing to be cautious of, the neighbor to the right of the apt is a permanent resident and does not appear well of mind. Having said that, you will feel very safe here. Immediately when you exit the property there are police officers patroling the beach entrance. The condado area has gotten more security because of recent crime issues, so that's a very good thing. There is a book with maps and menus from various restaurants but those need to be updated, some of the menus are of restaurants that no longer exsist and the maps go back to 2008. We had a fantastic time while in Condado and the biggest contributing factor was the condo! Located right on the beach! We opened the curtains in the morning to see the most beautiful ocean scene. The condo was quiet, nicely decorated, and well maintained. It is a half block off the main boulevard where we had access to everything we could possibly need. Nice beach with nice friendly people. Night life right there in walking distance. Condo is very clean and homey with TV , DVD and Wi Fi . Walgreen's one block away with a Red Box so if you like to chill in the room with a frozen pizza and snuggle up with a love with a movie all is good. Restaurants ane as well in walking distance, all kinds of food to choose from. I would most definitely stay here again , that is if they would have me. When we arrived the first thing that we noticed was the view. It is breath taking! We had first initially made a reservation for the middle of 2011 and we were unable to make it. Debora worked with me to find a week that worked for us and for her. She was fantastic, it is owners like her that give homeaway.com a good name! There is no parking other than street parking but we park right at the Marriott which is right across the street and is a fast and easy walk. We pay $18 for the whole day and we can come and go as many times as we want. The location of this condo is perfect! There are a lot of shops and restaurants all over and not to mention the beach which you are literally step from. I highly suggest Bun, which is a burger joint across from the Marriott. It is a 4 minute walk if that. And there bun sauce has a spanish flare to it which makes it even better. Even though you could easily get around by taxi or bus and not spend money on a rental I highly recommend getting a rental. San Juan and Old San Juan are short drives and must sees. It is nice to have a car to drive around to visit the forts, El Yunque, and the Bio Bay. Senor Frog's in San Juan is a blast! Ok back to the rental! First the security is great, there are several keys to get in and we felt very safe and were never worried about our belonging when we left. We would open the windows and leave the solid door open and have a fantastic cross breeze! It has beach chairs, beach towel, a bogey board, and the floaty noodles! The fridge, stove, oven, coffee maker, and microwave all work great and you have all the utensils that you need. We went and got groceries so that we could make breakfast to save money and the view in the morning is fantastic. The shower is the perfect size and the bed is heaven! I was worried that the bed wouldn't be comfy because I have a bad back but this bed is so nice and the couch is comfy as well. The internet is fast and the tv is great with good cable....although you could easily watch the ocean for hours instead. The local are nice and if you dont know spanish you will not have a problem, also if you need any information or help booking tours you can go to the Marriott and use their concierge service and they will help you. Everything about this place is perfect and when we come back we will for sure be staying here again! I highly recommend this place for your stay. We live in the boonies, so staying in the city, with people all around and good restaurants within walking distance, was a great plus. Seeing the beach from the window was great. The beach itself is in a spot with lots of waves at all times,so swimming, as opposed to just splashing in the waves, looked challenging. But the best thing was a trip to a waterfall, with rapelling and three ziplines. It is against the rules to post any proper names etc,, this one starts with an r and ends with an a. What a lovely, comfortable home-away-from-home condo, directly on the beach in the Condado area! This property was adorable, and met all of my needs last week while in San Juan, as it was neat and clean, and I felt like I had lived there right along with the friendly neighbors that I met during my visit. Debora, the owner, was kind enough to allow me early entry to the condo, since my flight arrived in San Juan in the wee hours of the morning, which I very much appreciated. It was fun live as a local, to walk around the area for groceries, to attend church, and to shop. I took public transportation for sightseeing purposes. The beach was so beautiful, both day and night, and, on the last morning of my visit, a full rainbow crossed half of the San Juan sky...so breathtaking! I would return there in a minute, and appreciated the contacts that I had with Debora, the owner, who took very good care that my visit was satisfactory; it was more than that, it was relaxing and restful; I was reminded of a simpler time. If you are looking to take a break, a time out, but still want the option of the activities that San Juan offers, this would be the place for you, as you can have it all at this lovely condo.Did you find this review helpful?
