The studio is situated in a great location. Close walk to 3 different metro stations and lots of amenities close by. The apartment was clean, well maintained, and with all advertised features available. Definitely enough space for the two of us. The manager, Dominique, has been very helpful before and during our stay. She helped me booked my New Year's Eve dinner and all the arrangements for me beforehand. Always prompt with communication whenever I had a question for her. Would definitely stay here again myself and recommend it to future travellers.
Owner response:I am glad you enjoyed your stay and that the bookings and arrangements I made attributed to it. But it is now my turn to thank you because you made me discover a restaurant that I did not know yet and which I could recommend now to our tenants ! It would be nice if you could come over again in the future and maybe that time I could finally find a place at Frenchie’s for you ! Merci et à bientôt, Dominique

This studio was quite to our liking. It offered everything necessary and public transport was a 5 minute walk away. Really friendly lady (Dominique) and trustworthy overall. I'd return to this address if I went to Paris again soon.
Owner response:Hello Lisette, thank you for this review and I am glad you enjoyed your stay. It would be a pleasure to welcome you again. Best wishes, Dominique Hallo Lisette, Dank je voor deze aardige reactie en je bent van harte welkom als je weer eens een reisje naar Parijs plant. Hartelijke groet, Dominique

Staying at this Rue Chapon Studio apartment made our visit to Paris absolutely perfect! The unit was well maintained, very spacious, conveniently located to all the tourist attractions & we felt perfectly safe, especially being 2 females there alone! We loved the free phone calls to the US, as well as free internet service! The landlord was very friendly and helpful, as well! The building itself was very quiet- no noisy neighbors! There is a Social spot across the street & we could hear the patrons having a good time, but it ended at a decent hour each night, so didn't bother us at all! One hint I would give to future renters is the know that the apartment is VERY close to the Metro station! We walked right past it & didn't realize it, so don't get lost!
Owner response:Bonjour Tamara ! Your review is as enthusiastic and generous as the two young women I had the pleasure to welcome. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and that you felt at ease in Paris and in the studio. It would be great to have you back with us if you would plan another stay here. All the best, Dominique

Stayed here with some girlfriends on holiday. Great place to stay, had everything we needed. Suitcase up the stairs was a little tricky but worth it. So close to everything, metro, galleries and food. Liked it so much a friend is staying there next year when she goes.
Owner response:Hi Francesca, Thank you for this review and I am glad you enjoyed your stay in Paris and in the studio in spite of the stairs ! But as mentionned in our listing it is a 17th century bulding and although the studio is completely renovated, it is not possible putting an elevator. There are lots of buildings in Paris with even 6 or 7 floors without an elevator. Anyway you said it was worth it and thank you for recommanding it to your friend. I hope she will like it as much as you did. Off course it would also be nice to welcome you again. All the best, Dominique

We really liked this apartment and agree with all the positive things said by everyone else. Photos shown are 4 angles of one large room, but it is plenty spacious. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchenette very nice and usable. The property was clean. It is right above a street (but not too busy of a street) , so we slept with the windows closed (despite it being summer) so that it was quieter. I do also feel like I need to caution future renters that we had things stolen from the apartment while we were gone (optics and money). There was no forced entry, so it either was someone with a key (I was sure I had locked it) or someone watching the apt very closely so that they knew when we had not locked the deadbolt (again, something we always thought we did), and they could force the latch open (you need a key to open the latch normally too, it is not a regular door nob like we have in the states). Had it not been for one item taken, we would not even have known until too late... or maybe not at all since everything was mostly put back the way it had been. The apt is on the third floor, in a stairway with only 8 apts, and an outside door that has a code on it. So it seemed safe... not someplace that people are continually walking by, not an easy place for a crime of opportunity. So, kinda suspicious. Dominique was very helpful very concerned and went to the police with me. She also mentioned that this was the first robbery reported since they had changed the locks! I hate to write something bad about such a nice place, but I feel like other people should be aware.
Owner response:Dear Sue, thank you for the compliments about our studio, but I would like to reply to what you mentioned about the safety. First off all we always insist that the tenants never leave the studio without closing the door with a double safety tour. You know that I am really sorry about the things stolen and I did my best so that the police could investigate about what and how it happened. They even sent an expert to take photos, fingerprints and have a look at the lock. You were not present but I was and the expert confirmed me that it is impossible to come into the studio when the door is locked with a double tour. Her formal conclusion was that the door had NOT been closed with a double tour. As you told me you thought having closed it but that you were not sure, the conclusion of the expert was very embarrassing for me and I absolutely did not wanted to accuse you not having closed the door properly, with all the consequences. However I informed you later that this was the reason why our assurance could not compensate you. Once again I am really sorry for this incident. After what happened we decided to change the lock for the highest safety lock which exists and I want to take advantage in this reply to assure future tenants about its safety.

This studio was a great find! My wife and I had a lovely stay there. The location is hard to beat, located close to three subway lines, and walking distance to a few of the big tourist attractions. The studio itself is roomy, homely, and clean. It offers a good sized queen bed, a sofa and coffee table. The place is pretty well lit. Dominique, the manager, was very helpful, friendly, and trusting. My wife and I couldn't have found a better place for our short stay in Paris. We would definitely consider staying here again in the future if we are in Paris. V.V.
Owner response:It is nice to hear that you both enjoyed your stay in Paris and that you liked the studio. I would like to add that it was nice meeting you and that you were exemplary tenants ! So it would be a pleasure to welcome you again. Best wishes, Dominique

My daughter and I stayed here for a few days in May and thoroughly enjoyed it. While it is a studio, there is plenty of room for two or more people. The location was wonderful. It was close to many restaurants and bakeries and wasn't far from the Pompidou. It was also conveniently located close to a subway stop. The best thing about it was Dominique, our hostess. She was incredibly helpful. Due to flight delays, we arrived much later than expected but she was very accommodating. She was delightful to deal with. We would stay here again.
Owner response:Thank you for your compact and developing review. It was a real pleasure to meet you and having you here in our studio. I can understand that a trip to Europe is not something to do frequently, but if you would plan another stay in Paris the door of the studio will be wild open for you ! All the best for you and you daughter, Dominique

With the warm and friendly reception from Dominique and finding a clean apartment waiting for me, I was off to an excellent start. The standards bar was set high last year when I stayed at another excellent apartment in the Marais, so I was pleasantly surprised with the comfortable bed, adequately equipped kitchenette and good ,location with nearby supermarket, laundries etc. Access to WiFi was great....the TV failed on me after a few days but my poor French precluded me from missing French TV. I would have liked a wash machine in the apartment...and the bathroom needs freshening up. The 4 flights of stairs are a challenge with a suitcase so not suitable for people who struggle with stairs. However, all in all it was an excellent base for my stay in Paris...made pleasant by the friendliness on email and at reception/departure. Thank you!
Owner response:Thank you for your review, it comforts us hearing that tenants enjoyed their stay and I am glad to hear you did ! But reviews also are helping us to improve things so thank you for your remarks. You are right about the bathroom and it will be completely freshened up in July. We could not block any dates before between the reservations. Unfortunately the studio is too small to add a washing machine, but as you mentioned there is a laundry just around the corner. The stairs are sure changing from a sky building, but they belong to most of the typical old Parisian buildings in this area. Thank you again André, it was a pleasure meeting you and it would be nice to welcome you again. Best wishes, Dominique

My husband and I were in Paris for our honeymoon last April and were lucky enough to stay at this wonderful studio. The place was very cute, peaceful and clean and it had absolutely everything we needed. The location cannot be beat. The neighborhood is filled with little supermarkets, shops, cafes and restaurants (make sure you get a delicious almond and chocolate croissant at the boulangerie just around the corner!!!). But the best thing is that it is close to everything! In a few minutes, you will reach Notre Dame and be able to walk by the Seine River while you enjoy beautiful Paris! I cannot praise enough our charming host Dominique. She was always available and absolutely wonderful. What more can you ask for? We definitely recommend staying here and we really hope to repeat our great experience very soon!
Owner response:Dear Pilar and Max, thank you for this enthusiastic review. I am glad that your stay in Paris (among the other destinations) made your honeymoon a success. Meeting you two was a real pleasure and I wish you a lot of happiness in your marriage. I hope you do not miss too much your ‘croissants’, but sending them to Puerto Rico would not be a good idea! So it would be nice to welcome you again in a near future. Best wishes for both of you, Dominique

This cozy apartment, in a (mostly) quiet neighborhood of the 3rd Arrondissment was exactly what we expected, and to us, that rates four stars! (Owners: I am that TOUGH grader you hated in school. RARELY 5's!). Dominique, our rental agent, truly went out of her way to make our stay wonderful, relaxed and restful. She replaced Laura about a week before our arrival, and was a wonderful replacement. She met us at the apartment at noon and got us set up. There was a bit of maintenance underway, which she coordinated around our schedule (and was completely willing to accommodate US vs. her schedule!). The apartment itself is small. As usual, the photos serve to make it appear larger, but hey, it’s marketing! We assumed smaller than it looked and: Expectation Met! The room itself is fine for three people (you could fit four, if two were small children sharing the convertible bed). The kitchen was well set up and all the amenities we needed were there (paper towels, detergent, sponge, etc). The beds were quite comfortable, and the hardwood floors were very clean…enough to feel comfortable in bare feet! And after walking all day in Paris (and navigating the three flights of stairs up to this 3rd story walkup), bare feet were NICE! Best surprise: Free telephone calls to the US, even to cell phones! And free to landlines in Europe, perfect for confirming future hotels, etc. Biggest downside: Shower. It’s not just that it’s tiny, nor that it still leaks. (We sent a picture to the agent, who confirms that it’s something they are going to address soon). The biggest issue is that the water controls are at waist height, and it is VERY easy to accidentally swing the temperature control arm from one side to the other, and get frozen or scalded…ouch! But with some extra care, you’ll survive it! In fairness, this is kind of a normal arrangement in Europe, but in this TINY shower, it’s a bigger problem. The only other thing that was a bit negative was the noise from the small café across the street on Saturday night…until almost 4 AM! Perhaps it was a street party, but clearly there was some substance-fueled exuberance….managed to sleep through most of it, and it really was only one night of our four night stay. Other than that, we found this apartment ideal for our family of three. The neighborhood was safe, with lots of fantastic eateries (try Au Bascou!) ATM’s, grocery, laundry and Metro/RER. Thank you again, Dominique...YOU ROCK!
Owner response:Bonjour Grant ! Thank you for your detailed review which is reflecting the nice person I had the pleasure to welcome in the studio. About the Saturday night party, this is happening once in a while and not only in Paris. Fortunately the studio is not located above a bar or nightclub, because then you would not have slept at all ! In spite of this small occasional event I am really glad you enjoyed your stay. Merci Grant and all the best, also for your family, Dominique

I stayed in this apartment during March Break 2011. I had a really great time! The apartment is quaint, and yet it had more than enough room for me! :) And Dominique...the manager...WOW! Honestly, she made the stay! When the airline lost my bag, she stepped up and volunteered to be a go-between for me and the airline. She also checked in with me daily to make sure I was doing okay, because she knew I was travelling alone. The location of the studio is GREAT! It's near everything! I walked all over...but if I needed it there were 3 good metro stops within walking distance. I never had a problem with noise in the area, and I was there for almost a week. The bed was extremely comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped. I had everything I needed. The only negatives I would say are: the stairs..be careful climbing them..they were tough! They are built at a weird angle. The kitchen; there was a really big screw loose in the floor that I kept stepping on! :( But Dominique was going to fix that the next day. The biggest negative: The shower. It is super small! But that is not uncommon in a small apartment..but the temperature knobs were right at waist level, so I kept scalding myself. It also leaked a little, but Dominique said they were coming in to fix that the next week. Overall I would definitely recommend a stay in this apartment, especially since Dominique is so awesome! She ROCKS! :)
Owner response:Bonjour Nicole ! Thank you for this honest and clear review and for your compliments towards me. But for me it was only natural and evident. You were our guest (and a real nice one !) and our purpose is that the tenants feel at home and to make so that their stay is a pleasure. Concerning the stairs you have to know that it is a building from the 17th century ! Unfortunately we can not enlarge the shower in the studio, but everything will be done to make it more functional. Anyway, I am really glad you enjoyed your stay and it will be a pleasure to welcome you again. Best wishes, Dominique

Great little bachelor apartment in Paris. Fantastic, happening neighbourhood and location. In the centre of Paris, with all the basics you need to cook....supermarkets and bakeries near bye to enjoy living like a local for a few days. Only pitfall: shower stall moves easily and can leak water.

What a terrific time for ten days in late Sept. and early Oct. The studio was great and everything that we needed and expected. Nicely furnished and well maintained and clean. The wi-fi was perfect for checking details and directions as well as sending fotos to the kids (who had to WORK). And the location was the best for getting around: out in the morning, back for lunch and a nap, and then back out for the late afternoon and evening. All metro, trains, and walking. Not a single cab or shuttle. We will definitely do it again when my bank account recovers or we win the Lotto! Thanks Ivan and Laura... it was da best!

My husband and I stayed in this apartment June 29 - July 5, 2009. First off the hosts were very helpful and easy to correspond with when making our arrangements to rent the apartment. Laura met us at the apartment and was able to provide us with great information about the neighborhood. Laura, the Italian restaurant you suggested we go to was in fact fabulous! The apartment itself is absolutely perfect. It's fairly big when comparing to a hotel room. Keep in mind that everything in Paris tends to be small, so although the washroom in the apartment is small...it is adequate. The place was very clean and comfortable with everything you need (stove, mictrowave, dishes, extra linens, etc.) The location is great too, within a few minutes to the Metro and right by Centre Pompidou. Laura and Ivan, thank you so much! We will definately recommend that our friends contact you if they plan to visit Paris.

This is a great apartment. It is within walking distance to Notre Dame and many other museums. There are two french bakeries within 1 block, so you can get fresh bagettes or croisants and eat in the Ikea furnished kitchen before heading out. Laura was refreshingly friendly, she makes me want to visit Argentia, her home country. Mark
