About the owner: Pete, Jack and I love all that our country house has to offer - great hikes, fresh air, seasonal changes, and lots of great culture in nearby Woodstock and the surrounding area. Pete's an artist and Marietta's a writer and we find endless inspiration just outside the door. Some of our favorite moments have been taking the short hike around our property, kicking around streams, climbing the rock quarry, sitting in the moss forest, collecting nature's treasures.
Why the Owner Chose Woodstock: We were NYC people looking to move to the country and saw our Woodstock house as the ideal happy medium -- gorgeous setting, charming house with architectural history (Peter has a passion for old buildings), nearby culture and like-minded people, and only 2.5 hours from NYC. We're continually moved by the seasonal moments.
The Unique Benefits at this House: Quiet, serenity of nature with little else disturbing us. The sheer beauty of the surrounding pine forest with its grandeur and nuance. The proximity of world-class art, music, and dining just minutes to Woodstock, Saugerties, and Rhinebeck. The opportunity to entertain our friends and family in a beautiful, welcoming place. We always have a great time!
