We loved this place. Great view onto the beach from a nice, large balcony. Right smack on a beautiful beach (we watched tons of dolphins go by one day). The place was impeccably clean and contained everything you could possibly need in the kitchen (even a spice rack). The owner was great - nice and very accessible. We mainly golfed, so we didn't see a lot of the available attractions, but we were close to everything. Definitely go to Murrell's Inlet for all the restaurants on the boardwalk. Lots of outdoor dining there. Brookgreen Gardens is FABULOUS. You pay $24 for a week pass, so you can come and go whenever you want. Check out all the local restaurants and pubs for quiz nights. There's one every night and location changes each night. Also, dine at Charleston Cafe, which is locally owned, for a great meal. Go to Dagwoods for casual, sports watching dining (huge sandwiches). Both of these restaurants are within 5 minutes of the condo. We would recommend this condo to anyone - families, couples, seniors (it has one of the few elevators among the condos in this area . We estimated we gained at least five hours extra free time by not having to drag luggage and groceries up and down stairs!). We loved it and it was a great bargain!

Excellent area. Wonderful views. Comfortable and homey. Perfect for families, getaways and just plain relaxing. The balcony is great for ocean watching. Walk to several nice restaurants. We felt very safe in the building. Like not Having to carry a key. The only thing I would change is if They let me bring my tiny dog :) Thanks Staugaard family for a wonderful vacation

Andy, Thanks for opening up your condo for rental. We had a great time & enjoyed the area. As you know, this is the first time we've stayed in Surfside for vacation & we loved the peace & quiet. After last year's stay in Myrtle Beach during Labor Day week, we pretty much decided we are done with hotels. It's too crowded, aggravating & defeats the whole purpose of having a relaxing vacation! This experience was far better & felt like an actual vacation as opposed to a "visit". We forgot to leave a note in the guest book but I will leave some feedback on our visit on the vrbo page listing. Thanks again & take care.

This was the first time I had ever rented a place thru VRBO, how lucky we were to find you and your beautiful condo! Despite the not so great weather (tropical storm) we have enjoyed our stay. Had a wonderful week. The location was perfect. Parking was easy. Surfside Beach is a great area if you want a laid back week. Having a grandson with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, staying at a unit on the beach was a plus. He could come over and use the pool. We would carry him over the walkway to the beach which wasn't a problem. The biggest problem for those of us from MD is the trip around the DC/Northern VA area. If you get past there by 6AM, the rest of the drive is good. I would recommend the unit as a nice place to stay.

Thanks so much for the use of your unit in Surfside Beach. It worked out perfectly for our family, especially for our 6 year old grandson who has muscular dystrophy. He could come to our place, use the pool and it was easy for us to carry him to the beach. The rest of my family stayed at my daughter-in-law's parents' house in Glenmere of Rt 544. It was nice for them to be able to come to the beach without having to worry about where to park, where to take the children if they were hungry or needed the use of a bathroom. The weather was nice, only rained 2 days. Surfside is a very laid back area compared to Myrtle Beach which gave my wife and me a nice week to relax. Thanks again.

Three ladies from Columbia/Lexington, South Carolina. We had a wonderful and relaxing week at the beach. When is the last time you stayed at a condo that had a FULLY equipped kitchen? This one is! We brought in seafood several times and prepare our own. Also, when is the last time you stayed at a property with COMFORTABLE furniture. This one has a recliner....I claimed this as mine for the week. The mattresses were comfortable as well. I would recommend this rental.

Loved staying at your condo. The kitchen was ‘well stocked’. I am accustomed to staying at my timeshare places and they have the conventional 8 plates, 8 forks, ….and 2 pots and a frying pan. Yours had plenty to work with.

This was our second year to rent this condo. We have told many of our family and friends that if they want a great vacation this is the place to go. The beach access is great and the pool if we wanted it. It is a very clean condo and has cable and internet access. We hope to come back next year. Thanks for a great place to stay.

The Sea Shadow condo was perfect. My daughter, sister , best friend and I spent our spring break here in April 2010. The location, cleanliness , access to the beach and great restaurants were everything we were looking for. At night the place was well lit and easy to find as we returned from eating the best crab legs ever from "crabby mikes" just a few blocks away.The listing description was accurate and I would recommend this place to others. Will definitely return..........WV Mountaineers!!

Our two-week stay at Sea Shadows was very enjoyable in this comfortable, nicely furnished, and well equipped condo, and the Staugaards were very accomodating owners. Sea Shadows complex is very nice, clean and well maintained; sports a nice pool large eough for swimming laps, and has a newly installed elevator - a blessing for we seniors.

We enjoyed our stay at your nicely furnished and well equipped condo, nice pool, weather was great, and we believe we left everything in good order. We enjoyed the Inlet Crab House (homey with good food); we had been to The Gulfstream last year - good for a special night out. Thanks for the recommendations. Don't get me wrong it was nice to be on the ocean front, the size was fine. It was the bed and pillows that were purchased some time in the 70's that kinda bothered me, no lie i measured my pillow it was 1.5 inches thick and the bed would make the loudest noise when you would move the slightest little bit. Also the owners might want to think about getting a new cleaning service or at least do a total clean maybe at lease once or twice a year considering we left the place cleaner then we found it. To call it a home away from home that it is not and to demand such a high price and not make an effort to do some minor upgrades is in my opion just cheap. So i wish people would be more critical on these things it really would have been helpfull to us. PS. If you stay at a place and you don't really think its worth the money look around a little if you at least like the area so you don't get stuck paying for something you don't really want that is what i did, and by the way Surfside and Garden City two great beaches and towns.

Owner response:Thank you for your critique of our condo; however, I feel compelled to respond. First, the master bed was replaced new this year and the mattress was replaced one year ago. There are several pillows to chose from in the bedroom closets and I am sorry that you picked at flat one. Second, we have one of the best cleaning services in the area, one that is provided by our rental company and was chosen by us because of their excellent cleaning record. We also do a thorough detailed cleaning ourselves twice a year. This is our home away from home and we put several thousands of dollars yearly into upgrades. I suggest that you do look around and see what you get for a comparable price and I think that you will find we have a quality unit at a very competitive price. We have not had any major complaints about our unit after 10 years of renting. All other reviews have been very positive.
