From the moment we walked in, the fun began. The house is beautiful, as well as comfortable. Such great access to the beach, walking, sandcastles, and people watching. We had everything in the kitchen we needed for the bday dinner. The January weather was amazing, 70 degrees. (take that summer). AND if it had rained we would have had a house full of games, movies, and plenty of space for snuggling. The portico was perfect for sunsets, and my morning coffee. Thank you. Patte

This house was MORE than we could have hoped for. The first 4 days we never left the house because we were having such an amazing time on the beach and relaxing. The house has everything. Great beddings...super cozy. Everything you could ask for in the kitchen...and we cooked almost every meal while there. The viewing deck on the sand is the perfect spot for nightly sunsets. I am already planning my return!

Property met our expectations and the description on the website. Owners went out of their way to make our stay over the Thanksgiving holiday go smoothly, including installing a new range after existing oven failed. Location on the beach was ideal, with deck overlooking the sea a perfect setting for viewing the setting sun. Our family gathering couldn't have been better in this warm and well equipped home with plenty of space for privacy as well as for group togetherness. Thank you for sharing your corner of paradise!

My family of 7 adults and 1 toddler (and 1 pet dog) loved our stay at this magnificent beach home. The home is exactly as described -- clean, well-kept, roomy, fully stocked kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, beautiful decks and gardens, easy access to beach, and a 2nd floor view of a constant ocean. Everyone loved the great room and the way it promotes family intimacy with decks and kitchen flowing off a central core. Also, every appliance in the house works. This is an ideal vacation destination for a large family. I've rented vacation homes in Stinson Beach over the last 15 years, and this is my favorite. I would certainly recommend this, and I plan to return next year.

The listing of the description and amenities was spot on. The owner was tremendous in all of our exchanges. This is a splendid location and residence for young(5) and old. Continuous magnificent views and designer ambience greets you. The kitchen was delightful for our family to have our extended family from England and Princeton for a casual dinner and an evening by the fire pit. One has easy accessibility to the beach and a grand area to sit to watch the kids playing or a quite time viewing the sea lions or dolphins. Overall you were so grateful for these owners insights on what makes a beach home work! The easy access into the master bedroom was of great assistance for those weary of the circular stairway to and from the deck. We continually monitored a busy little one and utilized a chair to prevent access to this stairway with our 18 month old. A gate would have been great on the upper deck. This is a super residence in a relatively private location with lots of space and an easy flow for those who needed to rest and the active ones. The kitchen was well appointed and with easy beach cooking needs well supplied. The bedrooms were great and due to our active walkers, avid bike persons, running, and nature lovers we did not use the media room for that purpose, but it was a great place for quite for the little one in her pack and play. It was nice to know if we had unsuitable weather we had an entertainment area. By all means enjoy any lovely meal at the Pelican Inn, as we enjoyed it and as well as for the perfect location for our England family lawn wedding. Scrumptious entrees and a lovely Inn ! We highly recommend this lovely residence to anyone with a higher level of expectations that enjoys tremendous views that allows you to always be one with the ocean attributes.

Our stay at this Stinson property was wonderful! The descriptions given are very thorough and accurate. We had 7 adults on our family vacation and there was PLENTY of space. Having two king beds for the two couples on the trip was a treat. The sliding doors that open onto the deck was an amazing surprise- truly indoor/outdoor living at your fingertips! The private beach entrance was enjoyed everyday with an outdoor shower to access before re-entering the house. I would recommend this to anyone! Be sure to take the time to enjoy Stinson and some of the great eats :)

Celebrating our 50th Anniversary with our family and two grand-dogs was everything we'd hoped it would be and much, much more! Everything was as promised and even better--all the rooms are beautifully appointed; the kitchen appliances are state of the art; the washer and dryer are handy; the beds are extremely comfortable; there are more than enough comforters, blankets, pillows, bath towels, beach towels, etc. The house is a real "home" with a wonderful personality all its own; the House Deck was lovely with more comfortable seating and dining areas; the Dune Deck was delightful with room for everyone to watch the lovely waves, the wind surfers, the frolicking dogs and/or magnificent sunsets; and the Fire Pit cozy. We were a group of seven; and we always felt we had plenty of space to sit and chat or go off on our own for a bit of quiet if needed. The dining area was more than ample with room to spare for our group; and the living room was a splendid size with a lovely chaise lounge tucked into one windowed corner; two good-sized, curl-up-and read, easy chairs with an ottoman in another corner; and four other comfy chairs, a great coffee table, and a couch in front of the fireplace--all made the more pleasant with delightful, decorative pillows. The beach is splendid, pristine, and beautiful; and our grand-dogs and all the other dogs on the beach helped to add a wonderful, friendly, family feeling. The Stinson Beach Market had everything our vegans needed as well as "regular" food for the rest of us! The Sand Dollar restaurant in town is not to be missed either--the food and service were great! Also enjoyed were delightful day trips to San Francisco, Bolinas, and Pt. Reyes with a stop at Pt. Reyes Station House Cafe for a delicious lunch. We were prepared for foggy, misty-moisty mornings/days, but "our" week was sunny and warm and perfect--except for a few brief, foggy hours one morning to remind us what NorCal is all about! All in all, our week's stay went by way too quickly; and we were very sorry to have to leave.

We LOVED our stay in this home; it was a perfect fit for our extended family. We particularly enjoyed the combination of the older charm of the living areas and the very modern kitchen and bathrooms, and the big sliding doors that could be opened on nicer days! We're all cooks so the kitchen was our favorite room in the house. It's a large, sunny room with lots of counter space, plenty of modern appliances, a huge fridge, gas stove, good knives and extra refrigerator drawers. My husband and I stayed in the only bedroom upstairs and put the family with little ones and the single daughter downstairs with the other bedrooms and media room. The rooms are spread out enough downstairs that they all felt private enough as well. It was so nice to not have to deal with the TV and stereo in the main living areas (though there are music options upstairs). The little ones could watch movies and play games during down times or bad weather without interfering in the social life upstairs. The house was perfectly situated to spread out or come together as we chose. The main living area is on the second floor with stunning views of the ocean and in a matter of seconds we could be through the beautiful garden and onto the Dune Deck (or Sun Deck as we called it), right on the beach. What a pleasure to have immediate and private beach access! There is both a foot washing station and an outdoor shower to reduce the chance of piling up sand in the house. We used these religiously and put beach towels at the entrances to dry feet (there are plenty of beach towels available; no need to bring your own). The elegant tree in the backyard cannot be comprehended until you see it in "person"; it's magnificent and was a source of awe. We had one minor issue with the house, which was taken care of immediately by the handyman on call. Great response! We felt lucky to be there during the off season. Since we're from an area where space is valued and plentiful, it was bizarre to see how this beach community has crammed the homes in so tightly. Because fewer of those homes were occupied while we were there this was not a big problem, but there was new construction going on which prevented daytime napping; the worst should be over by summer. Be aware of the very curvy roads; makes going places challenging and lengthier than you'd think. However, we preferred to stay at the house and beach! We highly recommend this vacation rental - If we return to Stinson Beach, we will stay here!

We came last year for Dad's birthday-but this year we came for all of us! Loved the new firepit, sitting outside, listening to the sound of the waves under the stars-just so memorable. Sheila (our Golden Lab) was blissful-and the whole family relaxes and has so much fun. The owners were both professional and friendly, so easy to deal with! The house has every comfort I can imagine. Is there anything better than falling asleep to the sound of the waves?

This house is extremely comfortable, extremely well equipped, and has a perfect location. My husband and I stayed for a week with friends and family joining us at different times. We loved the dune deck at sunset. The entertainment room was appreciated by football fans. The kitchen and the outdoor grill made cooking a pleasure. We boogie boarded and played in the surf right outside the back door. The indoor and deck dining tables were great. My dog was in dog heaven with a fully fenced yard and the beach just beyond. Thank you!

This home is just lovely! The owners have thoughtfully provided all the niceties you might find in your real home-down pillows, comfortable beds, lots of hot water(!) and a kitchen where you can really cook-including cookbooks. As a family we have traveled all over the world, Stinson Beach is a magical place and this is the ideal location. The kids could walk into town for a softie cone while we enjoyed a glass of wine on the dune deck. You can bet we'll be back-wish we were coming back tomorrow!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this artsy fun & funky home. The home was in a great location within walking distance to town for ice cream and dinners "downtown." The home boasts one of the few actual backyards in Stinson, firepit and comfortable chairs made for a terrific place for us to lounge, along with completely enclosed area for the pooch. Gourmet kitchen with monster stove and generous dining table were more than adequate for our large group. As first time renters we weren't disappointed - the photos online accurately depict the property. We found everything shiny and clean, really enjoyed dinner at the Sand Dollar down the street. Point Reyes Station is only about twenty minutes up scenic Highway One, definitely worth the trip for lunch, hiking and a pit stop at the Bovine Bakery. Also nearby Bolinas has its own counter culture charm. I would certainly recommend the place for large families or a group of adult couples - comfortable beds and multiple baths plus being dog friendly - without smelling like a dog friendly house.

Yes folks, I did say fantabulous! It is my 8 year old daughter's favorite word....but it really does describe what a great home this is and the memorable family vacation we spent here. If you don't know Stinson Beach well, you might not realize that this is absolutely the best location. You are close enough for the kids to walk down the beach to get an ice cream but far enough away from the Public Beach to avoid the crowds. We spent our evenings sitting on the dune deck with a glass of wine, keeping an eye on our kids playing on the beach and watching the sky change colors as the sun went down. Great house, clean, comfortable and amenities that are several steps above the other houses we have rented in Stinson. This does not have the sterile feel of a 'rental', it feels like a home. Skim boarding, boogie boarding(don't forget the wetsuits), looking for starfish at low tide in Bolinas, collecting sand dollars, building huge sandcastles, throwing the ball for our dog, roasting marshmallows around the fire pit and just walking along the miles of pristine beach-it was a vacation we will all remember and one we fully intend to repeat this Summer!

It was a perfect way to celebrate my 60th week. I had groups of friends come stay for a day or two and then the next group would arrive. Plenty of room for all of us. And I particularly like that there are several different sitting areas, so we could be together or gather in smaller groups or alone. Everybody loved the house and the grounds, and, of course, Stinson Beach is an all time favorite. The book store in town is a treasure, as well. We ate in the whole week this time and the kitchen isfully stocked of any equipment you might want, but, have loved The Sand Dollar in the past. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home with us.

Coming back home to Marin from beautiful but damp and cold Scotland was made all the better by having this magnificent house by the beach to share with all the family. The 4 rooms were adequate to house all the various visiting family members and we still had room to hang out together and apart all around the house, from the TV den to watch bad movies and the Copa Del Oro final between USA and Mexico, to the large living room where we had our daily 'pre-bath' dance parties to Britney and Katy Perry, to the outdoor deck for as many barbecued meals as we could eat with its views of the sea and the crow's nest on the dunes for our nightly sundowner of California Chardonnay shared with the visiting seals who came to say hello every evening and the firepit for our late night reminiscences mostly now obscured by the gentle fog of a good single malt. 3 generations were able to enjoy the most out of this fabulous looking house set just back from the dunes with great views and a bit of privacy but also a warm sense of community on the private close we shared with all the neighbors over 4th of July weekend. A bit difficult to sort out the garbage situation with all of the various feasts we cooked, could of used another trash can, but we may have over-produced, besides that everything went swimmingly. The outdoor shower was a pleasure (and warm!) coming in from the beach every evening and helped keep the sand out of the house. The large tables were great for family meals both indoors and out and all of the various seating areas allowed the family to be together but also allowed for little enclaves of privacy as needed. The facilities were top notch, especially the kitchen and barbeque, and being right on the beach but behind the dune walk gave us easy access with the kids and all their stuff and frequent returns but relative safety from the open ocean as well. The distance from Stinson Town is perfect too, as it allowed us to walk easily along the beach to go to the shops but was far enough away from the maddening crowd. What more is there to say, we hope to come back soon, you will too!

Owner response: Happy to hear you enjoyed your vacation! Thanks for the feedback on the garbage cans, we now have a 64 gallon can-twice as large. Cheers!

Our family had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. To begin, the views are stunning-- the vista from the upstairs is breathtaking. The beach is easily accessible and daily walks were a joy. The home is well equipped and had everything we needed for cooking (beautiful dishes and beachy accessories). Upstairs living room is homey and very comfortable -- very pleasing to the eye-- art, colors, furniture. All of the bedrooms were charmily decorated and very comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and the sound of waves rolling in. The weather during our stay ranged from sunny, to cloudy, to rainy-- each weather pattern brought its own delights. The home is an easy walk to town and restaurants; the little store was handy. So, would I go back? Absolutely!

I am a bit delayed in writing reviews for the properties! This home has a wonderful living area and kitchen, huge and sunny with views of the ocean and huge sliding doors that open up onto the deck - very unique. Our stay was wonderful overall, but our arrival, which we had confirmed would be 2pm, was not. After an 8 hour drive to get there, the house had not been cleaned. It was not in the condition I usually leave a property, somewhat gross to walk in on that. We waited almost two hours while the housekeepers came, not very happy since we were quite tired. However we noticed almost immediately that there were spiderwebs with bugs in them in many corners and wondered how the housekeepers didn't see those - again perhaps we are a bit cleaner than most folks. The coffee maker did not work (not a crisis), and the dvd/tv did not work despite 45 minutes attempting to get it to play. Disappointed 5 year olds are not fun to deal with.... But it is a wonderful property, with some nice upgrades in certain parts of the house. Beware those with disabilities, it has lots of stairs, including steep ones into the front door. One upside is that the master has a direct door to the outside - very nice for someone who has a dog. I find it odd, however, that when we directed our comments regarding the tv, coffee maker etc...which if I had a rental property, I would surely want to know about, the owner was not very interested in our comments and in fact made a snide remark when we went to rebook. Disappointed and surprised by the response, we decided we would rather not deal with someone like that. We booked elsewhere this year.

Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Owner response: Unfortunately the guests arrived before 12:00 not 2:00. The cleaners weren't done with the house since check-in wasn't for two more hours. The guests were given a gift certificate for a lovely nearby restaurant so they could have lunch while the cleaning was completed. I am sorry they didn't call our local manager about the other issues. Our manager is available 24/7 to take care of any problems our guests might encounter.

I am very familiar with Stinson Beach and West Marin as I live just 20 minutes away. I rented this house for a week with some out-of-town friends to celebrate my 50th birthday. We were all endlessly impressed with everything about this house and the property. I am an innkeeper and can be very picky about cleanliness and comfort. This place is A+. The location is perfect, the best part of Stinson Beach. Its away enough from the dense clusters of houses, restaurants and public park to the south but still fun and easy to walk down there and check it all out. Every house we walked past, whether north or south, we always remarked that ours was the best! We loved the dune deck and the outside shower (although the inside showers are awesome as well!) We cooked up a storm. The kitchen was great and so were all the many places to sit around and eat, inside and outside. Many wonderful spots for viewing the sunset. The house is decorated in such a fun style! Lots of great art on every wall. You might not think that is very important in a vacation rental but being surrounded by lovely things is very relaxing. Everyone remarked that their bed was very comfortable. Great bedding and plenty of towels too. I could go on and on. Pack your iPod and go! I can't imagine anyone not loving this house!

Words can't describe how beautiful your Stinson retreat is. The decor was GORGEOUS, beds were super cozy, the living room was perfect for conversation-and of course the view was unbeatable. Our favorite spot in the evening was the fire pit, listening to the waves crashing in the background. We felt so lucky...really.

Everyone raved about your decorating and there was not a single thing we needed that the house did not come equipped with. The photos of this home do not do it justice! It is absolutely beautiful inside and out. I loved the decor. Very eclectic with a french country influence. Each and every room is very thought out. The home is very spacious so we all had a quiet place to read or to have some time alone. The view was amazing but our favorite part was the private entrance to the beach and the dune deck. The private entrance made it so easy to go to and from the house and beach. We also did some star gazing from the dune deck on an extremely clear night. I almost forgot to mention s'mores by the fire pit in the garden! As far as our vacation, we had a wonderful birthday celebration for my dad who turned 70 and I know it was one of his most memorable b-days. We also had a great time surfing, boogie boarding and just relaxing. I hope to visit this home again! Thanks for a great vacation!

What a great time we all had. We want to do it again. The house was terrific, and in great condition. We wanted to let you know how comfortable your home is. We all really enjoyed ourselves, and do want to return next year. Thank you again for a great time!

Great location, lovely comfortable home, high-end amenities-and a totally awesome dune deck! One day was too windy on the beach so it was great to be able to hang out in the garden-no wind at all. Stinson is heaven for dogs and people too. The master suite was divine and we loved the glass block shower. Kids loved the outdoor shower and easy beach access. We will be back next summer and the summer after that as well!!!

The house was just wonderful and we just had a wonderful time. My husband, who thinks he a comparable chef to Julia Childs or any of the Food Network chefs just loved the kitchen-especially the professional range. Every room was comfortable and interesting with a wonderful sense of style and quality. We enjoyed the media room and my husband especially enjoyed the large TV in the master bedroom and of course the master bath shower. Our dog, Cooper, was really mellow until he got on top of the dunes and saw what was on the other side. He just wanted to play all day and say hi to all the other dogs & people. What a wonderful Mother's Day weekend!!!

We LOVED your house! We are 8 friends who enjoyed long walks on the beach, good food and wine, the sound of crashing waves and sharing the weekend together in a really cool house. Thank you!

We had a GREAT week here celebrating Christmas. The house is perfect. Beach access is perfect. And, even better, we loved that we could bring our dog.

Loved the house and the time we spent there! It was perfect for our family. Watching the sunset over the Pacific from the front deck with a glass of wine was especially relaxing. After an active day on the beach, it was lovely to come inside to a warm wood burning fireplace for the evening. House is right on the beach, recently remodeled and delightfully decorated. Had a great T.V. entertainment room downstairs for the kids while the grown-ups enjoyed a more quiet evening upstairs. We can't wait to go back.

We had a fabulous time in this amazing beach house - Everything you could want, a view of the breakers, a romantic dune deck, lots of room and every amenity you could wish for, from gourmet kitchen tools to an extravagant master shower.Rooms of every color make it festive and fun! It is perfectly positioned on the beach, walking distance to downtown but far away enough from the tourist crowds. An ideal spot for a family reunion too.

I can't think of anything that would have made the house more perfect for us. My dog, Lucie, had the time of her life. We had such a good time-this place is really special. The whole family is asking for a return next year!

If there was an option to give this place more than five stars we would do it in a heartbeat. We stayed here in the beginning of April and now it's almost June and we still can't get this place out of our minds. Imagine facing the most beautiful beach from the interior of a warm and beautifully decorated living area and you can see why we've nicknamed this place nirvana. P.S. The master bedroom is to die for.
