Enjoy views of the beautiful, rocky Maine coast and islands from a private deck overlooking the open ocean and from nearly every room in the cottage. Only a short walk to Newagen Town Landing with stunning views of Cuckolds Lighthouse, islands surrounding the harbor and a classic old New England inn.
Also walking distance is the the charming old Southport Memorial Library which is well stocked with books and videos/DVDs. Kayak rentals are available nearby and for a fee you can enjoy the tennis courts, pool and hot tub at Newagen Inn, a short walk away.
Enjoy The Breakers, our 1920' s shingled cottage, located on a quiet peaceful lane at the very end of Southport Island. Take in the sights and sounds of the ocean, beginning with spectacular sunrises and ending with brilliant sunsets; watching lobster boats haul in their daily catch, having lunch and cocktails on the deck while windjammers and yachts pass by.
See more stars at night than you ever imagined existed. Stroll the rocky shoreline in front of the cottage and search for sea glass and driftwood.
On the first floor is a large dining room (table seats 10), fully equipped kitchen, large living room facing the ocean, sun room with plenty of ocean view seating, a full bath(tub/shower), a den with queen sofa bed and closet, office with table for games and puzzles, washer and dryer and large sitting porches with ocean views.
Upstairs you will find three bedrooms (one queen bed, 2 with 2 singles), one full bath(shower) and one half bath.
Only 5 minutes away is the island's general store which offers great pizza, pastries, wines, and most of your other staples, a small sandy beach which is great for kids of all ages and the Southport museum. Southport offers both casual and fine dining with fresh lobster always available.
Boothbay Harbor is a 15 minute ride with plenty for all to do including great restaurants, shopping, art galleries, candlepin bowling, boat rides and more.
