We loved our week at Fjellheim. Jan and Carolyn were amazing hosts, offering their wonderful hospitality without being intrusive. They have taken great care in decorating Fjellheim - it's one of the cleanest places we've ever visited and every detail is well thought out. We spent many hours simply enjoying the views of the mountains Fjellheim offers. The mountains were fantastic. If you are looking for a place to relax, this is it. The deck is a wonderful place to sit and read. If we could give Jan and Carolyn more than five stars for Fjellheim we would! We could have not asked for a more amazing vacation and look forward to more visits to RMNP. Thank you Jan and Carolyn!

This home was simply a wonderful vacation home for our family. Plenty of room, very clean, and nicely decorated, we felt right at home. Add to that our gracious hosts, who provided a few initial groceries as well as a welcome tour of the home, proximity to great restaurants and shopping in Estes Park, and all that Rocky Mountain National Park has to offer and it doesn't get much better. Oh, and did I mention the views...wow! Cool nights on the deck listening to the elk bugle and coyotes howl and watching the clear skies for falling stars topped it off. We'll definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

First class house and host

This house is a perfect place to base a vacation to Estes Park/RMNP. From start to finish, Jan and Carolyn were terrific hosts. From the information they sent us before arrival to the welcome basket we found upon arrival, they were simply awesome. Knowing that they were less than a mile away in case we needed anything during the week was a great piece of mind...even if we didn't need to take advantage of that. The house is quite, clean, very well appointed and conveniently located to town and the park. The best view of the continental divide is right outside the back decks. If you're looking for a home base for an Estes Park vacation, this is it!

We've been renting vacation homes on a weekly basis in different locales for close to 20 years. Our Fjellheim experience was one of the best. From evaluating the property to contract to check in to check out, Jan and Carolyn were excellent to work with in all phases and went above and beyond in many instances (from sending Estes Park and RMNP tourist info upon rental contract signing, to providing a list of home contents two weeks from check in that surprised us by including many never before provided provisions by rental homes to waiting up late for us to safely escort us to the mountain top driveway that we would have never found without their help to a very nice welcome gift). The house is in a perfect location for a Rocky Mt. National Park vacation - located 5 minutes from the park entrance and 8 minutes or so from Estes Park. Fantastic 3 level home with a relaxing deck on each level. Furnished perfectly. Clean. Great views of the surrounding mountains. I really can't think of anything about our vacation rental home experience that could have been improved upon. Plus, the park is fabulous. A great (cool) summer get away if you live in a hazy, hot and humid part of the country.

Fantastic Mountain Paradise You'll Never Forget

Our family of four, including two older teen age boys, loved this house and our Estes Park/RMNP vacation. The only reason this review is less than five stars is because a couple of items (refrigerator and DVD player) weren't working when we got there. However, the owners were extremely responsive and did everything they could to fix the issues as soon and as well as they could. Neither issue presented more than minor interruptions to our vacation. The house had plenty of room for us, was well stocked for our arrival and full of charm and warmth. The views are outstanding and always changing. The house is located very near the Estes Park entrance to RMNP and just off one of the more scenic roads in the area, very near downtown EP. The owners went out of their way to send lots of helpful information about the area by mail before we arrived, answered all of our questions, and provided a personal escort and tour when we got there. They were always immediately responsive by email and phone; the business aspects of the rental were easy and flawless. If you're looking for a great vacation home near one of the best national parks in the U.S., we highly recommend this property! We would consider renting/staying here again without any reservations. Thank you for such a wonderful time!

Fjellheim = Heaven

We initially chose this house for it's location and accommodations, but were even more impressed with the hosts! Jan and Carolyn went above and beyond what we expected and the same professionalism, attention to detail and genuine friendliness they showed us was reflected in the property they allowed us to share for the week. Breathtaking views from every level, plenty of room, every convenience of home, and all within a few minutes of great shopping, eating and activities. We will be back!

The views from all floors of this wonderfully equipped and modern home are breathtaking! We were so encouraged in our beings by our stay in this extra clean, beautifully furnished and restful place. We would recommend this property to anyone who desired a spacious, happy feeling place to rest their world -weary bones!! Estes Park is filled with great places eat and the Rocky Mountain National Park is just around the bend. We love it and will be back.

Mountain Paradise

Absolutely fabulous! If you aren't looking for a rustic experience in Colorado, then this is the place to stay. Every comfort of home is here, and then some. The property is extremely clean and well-maintained. The views from the decks (and master bedroom) are stunning. The kitchen has everything you need (included milk, eggs, and bread provided upon arrival). I just can't say enough about what a great time we had. There are plenty of restaurants nearby (Smokin' Dave's BBQ was some of the best BBQ I've ever had! Get the Pitmaster sandwich.) Plus the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance is just down the road. I would recommend staying at Fjellheim to anyone in a heartbeat.

Simply Amazing

My family was completely blown away by the hospitality of Jan and Carolyn and the fine amenities of their home. This home has once in a lifetime views that made it hard to ever leave, which was not helped at all by the wonderfully updated amenities and comfort of all aspects of the home. Jan and Carolyn are incredibly responsive to any needs or wants, and the cleanliness and details of the home are fabulous. We will cherish our time at Fjellheim so much and would look forward to a stay soon in the future!

Spectacular View and Home

Our first experience where the view and home exceeded the listing description and our expectations. We could not get enough of sitting on the decks and enjoying the spectacular view. The home is clean, well appointed and modern. We were very close to the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park and the town of Estes Park with fun shopping and good restaurants. The owners are great to work with and we hope to return. We highly recommend the home.
