We are a family of four (20 and 17 year old children) and we were thrilled with this apartment! It was the perfect location - just a short walk to the Piazza Santa Maria, the heart of the Trastevere area. We ate in this area several nights because of the fabulous restaurants and cute shops. You can also walk 2-3 blocks to catch the tram or bus. (We were surprised at how close everything is...Rome is a very walkable city. We had an enjoyable walk along the Tiber to the Vatican on Christmas morning. Short tram or bus trips can quickly take you to your destination.) The apartment was quite spacious and nice to come home to after a full day of walking. There was a nice wardrobe in each room to hang clothes and plenty of drawer space. The shower was nice and we enjoyed being able to wash clothes. We dried our clothes on a huge rack that we left outside the front door and had no problems. We were here over Christmas and had read that everything would be closed, so we bought groceries and made dinner in the well-equipped kitchen. It was fun to do this, but if you don't like to cook, we actually saw many restaurants open on Christmas. It was great to have internet access as well. Angela and Elisa could not have been nicer! They were very accommodating and greeted us with a bottle of wine. On the last day, Elisa even called a taxi service for us to make sure one was waiting for us the next morning at 5 a.m. They are a very sweet family who truly want you to enjoy your Roman experience. We were very sad to leave and when we return to Rome, we will definitely try to stay at this charming apartment again. Thank you again, Angela and Elisa!
Owner response:Thank you very much for your beautiful review. We hope to see you again in Rome next year. Happy New Year. Angela and Elisa

Casaglorioso was the absloutely splendid apartment in a charming neighborhood conveniently located to all the tresures that Trastevere has to offer! The immaculate apartment is delightfully furnished with all the amenities including lovely art posters a visitor needs to feel at home in a foreign city. The charming owners Elisa and Angela were very helpful with local information and graciously gifted us with a bottle of excellent wine upon our arrival. A land line telephone with the numbers of local taxi service posted was an added benefit. We would welcome the opportunity to stay here again and have recommended it to many friends and relatives~GRAZIE ELISA E ANGELA~
Owner response:Cara Barbara, grazie for the beautiful review. We hope to you soon again in Rome. Saluti e Buon Anno. Angela and Elisa

the house lies on a perfect spot in the town, not more than 5 minutes walk from restaurants, market, bus and tramlines. The living, compared with the bedrooms, was small, but a full furnished kitchen and all other things that y ou need were present, so overall perfect. A friendly welcome , with extra service without request, were heartwarming, so we recommend this adress to anyone whom is visiting Rome

This is a wonderful apartment in a great area of Rome. It is within walking distance of most attractions and easily accessible to public transit. The apartment is very clean and well kept, and the owners very attentive to their guests needs. Definitely would stay here again when going to Rome!

The apartment is quite nice with good air conditioning units in the bedrooms, well stocked with kitchen tools, dishes and pots. The apartment's TV is a nice flat panel but almost everything is dubbed into Italian -- one night we found a recent movie in English as a pleasant surprise. Transportation is very convenient -- There is a tobacco store one block from the apartment that sells the tram/bus tickets at the corner of Viale Glorioso and Via Dandolo. We often used the Number 8 Tram two blocks down from the apartment at Glorioso and Viale Trastevere to get to the Largo di Torre Argentina bus mini-hub on the Rome side of the river. From there you could pick up a bus to just about anywhere in old Rome (there is a bus map as well as several Rome guides available in the apartment). Alternatively, there is the 75 bus from Via Dandolo that can take you back and forth to Termini Metro/Train/Bus mega-station or the 3 bus on Viale Trastevere that can take you to the Pyramide or Circo Massimo Metro stations. Taxis can be easily called from Angela's phone in the apartment. We generally had no problems explaining to the dispatcher that we wanted them to pick us up at Viale Glorioso vicino a Scala (near the big stairs at the end of Viale Glorioso). They start the meter when they receive the dispatch so it'll be above the normal 2.80 euro minimum fare when you get in. However, picking up a taxi at a taxi stand (Colisseo, Vatican Museum, Termini) can be an issue as taxi drivers at each of these sites tried to propose fixed fare amounts to take us back to the apartment that were well above what the meter would have charged. We opted either to choose another taxi who would use the meter or to just grab a bus when it happened twice in a row at Termini. There are many restaurants nearby, including one on Piazza Cosimato that served their version of American Breakfast with eggs, bacon and pancakes or waffles. In addition to the great pizzeria-style restaurants, we also enjoyed the nearby Korean, Chinese, and Kebab. There are two smaller grocery stores on what we liked to call Big Christmas street just off the P. Cosimato (Via Natale del Grande) as well as a very large supermarket *underneath* the Oviesse store on Viale Trastevere. If you're picking up a larger amount of groceries, we found it convenient to shop at the Largo di Torre Argentina Despar supermarket, then pick up a taxi home from the adjacent Taxi Stand.

Our stay at the flat was very comfortable even with 5 adults (2 of them being my elderly parents). Angela was extremely helpful and accommodating from the time I first contacted her all the way through our stay. We will definitely be staying at Angela's flat the next time we return to Rome. Thank you Angela for all of your help! We highly recommend your flat to anyone and everyone that wishes to visit Rome!

Casa Glorioso is indeed Glorioso. We stayed at this wonderful place during our first ever trip to Rome. Angela and her daughter were simply amazing hosts. The apartment is in a very quiet area of Trastevere. It is very close to transportation and many of the sights in Rome. The photos do not do justice to the apartment, it is much bigger than it appears. It is a very short walk to one of the local open air markets and is located close to several wonderful restaurants. One day we hope to return to Rome and when we do we will definately stay at Casa Glorioso again.
Owner response:Thank you very much for your beautiful review. I hope you'll come back soon to my property. Best regards. Angela

The Casa Glorioso was indeed glorioso. We loved the location. The apartment itself was larger than the photos depicted and had all the amenities necessary for a wonderful vacation in Rome. The owners, Angela, Massimo and their daughter were more than accomodating with advice about transportation, restaurants etc. The apartment is a short walk to transporation for all over Rome. Our home away from home was a pleasure to return to after a long day sightseeing. Beautiful Trastavere was right at our door. There were many wonderful restaurants a short walk from our apartment. It was a pleasure to have a washing machine. The hair dryer was strong and we had the pleasure of having an Italian coffee maker and an american coffee maker. The heat in the apartment was wonderful on those very damp days of winter. Our friends who visited couldn't believe the spaciousness of the bedrooms. We highly recommend Casa Glorioso after spending 10 weeks in fabulous Trastevere. We would be happy to return to Rome and enjoy Casa Glorioso in the future.

My family (we parents and two young kids) stayed for a month in Casa Glorioso from mid-December 2010 to mid-January 2011, visiting from Canada. Angela and Elissa were fantastic hosts, welcoming us with a bottle of wine and providing us with a good orientation to the apartment when we arrived. The apartment suited our needs well. It was clean, we were able to get laundry done no problem, and the kitchen was well-equipped enough for us to manage all meals, including Christmas dinner. The bedrooms were comfortable and the living/dining room area were adequate. Wireless internet worked well. We were pleased with the location of the apartment, and Trastevere became our favorite neighborhood in Rome. We enjoyed the bars (cafes) and restaurants in the area, and the apartment is close to three supermarkets, decent bakeries, a good fresh pasta shop, and a daily open-air market in nearby Piazza San Cosimato. The #8 tram into the area with all the tourist sites is close by, but we often preferred to walk the distance (about 15 minutes). The Coliseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Vatican, etc. are all within walking distance, even for our 11 and 8-year-old kids, yet you get to escape the main tourist crowds when you head back home to Trastevere. We recommend Casa Glorioso. Tim, Lizz, Holly & Tom - Canada.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in October and found it to be a perfect base for our time in Rome. The apartment was clean and well-equipped and the owner was very helpful in showing us allt he apartment's features. She was also kind enough to arrange for a taxi for us when we left for the train station. And the complimentary bottle of wine was such a nice touch.

We had a warm welcome. Apartment is big enough for 5-6 people. Good location, close to bus stops (but far from subway - but isn't really necessary in Rome). A lot of nice restaurants and bars around. Close enogh for a taxi trip from Mont Testatio area. Everything went well.

My wife and I stayed at Casa Glorioso for a week in late Sept.-early Oct. The apartment is spacious, clean and well-maintained. The location is ideal, just a short walk to the center of the Trastevere neighborhood yet away from the tourists and noise. Public transportation is close by also. Daughter Elisa was informative and well-organized and even left us a bottle of good wine. We would definitely stay there again.

This apartment was our home for the six weeks starting September 4th 2011 & proved the perfect location for walkling tours of the whole area. The detailed description on the VRBO site is totally accurate. Our hostess Elisa & her mother Angela were most helpful & have provided an ample supply of current tourist information including the local bus & train services, a study of which is worthwhile. We, my wife & I, aged, 69 & 77 respectively, found the cobbled streets of Rome surprisingly comfortable to walk upon & walk we did, for miles, sometimes as a result of "taking that nice little alleyway" then becoming lost. For the energetic climb the stairway adjacent to the apartment & find your way to the Vatican via the Gianicola hill the views are lovely .

We stayed at this property last summer (sorry it took me so long to write my review!) It was a great location! Close to the tram, easy to reach all the bus lines. Would recommend this to anyone. It was really handy to have a washing machine. Not big enough for a large family, but for 5 girls we did just fine!

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Glorioso. The location was very good for our touring on foot or public transportation...bus was a short walk away. Angela and Elisa were very accomodating and gracious and helpful. We had forgotten a power adapter and they were quick to help us remedy the situation. There also was a nice selection of area maps and guide books on the bookcase for our use, and a bottle of wine and milk and cookies to enjoy. A number of grocery shops were nearby. The home was so comfortable to return to after long days out exploring. Very nice to have Internet and a washing machine, as well. We were travelling with our three teenaged children and did not feel crowded here. A very spacious apartment. I would recommend staying here without hesitation!

Love, love, love this location! Angela and Elisa are so helpful and the apartment has everything you need- a home away from home. We walked to Vatican City and rode #115 back. We had a Roma Pass and used the bus system everyday- stops are so convenient. Evening meals were spent in Piazza St. Maria and Piazza S. Cosimato were we also stopped at the market in the morning for fruit. Thank you for making our stay in Rome memorable!

The apartment is very comfortable and incredibly convenient to all the major attractions in Rome. Public transportation just a short distance from the door but more important: Trastevere, a wonderful neighborhood that gives one the feeling of being a true Roman. We would recommend the apartment to friends and relatives.
