Welcome to 60 Ocean Course, a premier residence located in beautiful Vanderhorst Plantation on Kiawah Island, SC. It is a 6,100 square foot home with a private heated pool. This home is located 5 houses or just a 2- minute walk to the beach access. The beach access is just a 5- minute walk through the golf course to the beach. With convenient bicycle paths your trip to the beach will be even shorter. Or enjoy available beach parking just a short drive away. This home has 4 spacious bedrooms and 4½ baths in the main house and an additional 2 bedrooms and 1 bath in the adjoining guest suite plus a separate ½ bath near the pool for ample room to enjoy your vacation stay.
This lovely home was previously owned and decorated by Peggy Norris, one of Kiawah Island’s most famous decorators. As you you come up the front steps of this Mediterranean style home, a guest suite entrance is on the left and a spacious pool with hot tub and waterfalls on the right. In the guest suite, is a den with a small refrigerator, sink and a gas fireplace with TV/DVD combo. There are 2 bedrooms, with Queen beds and an adjoining full bathroom.
Continue through French doors to enter the main house first floor and be immediately charmed by an open floor plan with picture windows featuring breathtaking views of the marsh, tidal creeks and rear deck. The large living area, with a TV, fireplace and double sofas is ideal for gracious entertaining. Across the spacious living room, is a full service wet bar with wine cooler plus bar seating. Adjacent to the living room you will find the office and library, perfect for relaxing in front of the gas fireplace, reading or maybe a game of chess. This is also a great area for children to enjoy TV or for time away from adults. Across from the bar, is the main dining room, which has a sensational view of the heated pool and lighted waterfalls. The dining room will comfortably seat 8 – 10.
A warm terra cotta tiled gourmet kitchen features granite countertops, zero sub-temperature refrigerator/freezer, four-burner gas cook stove located in the center island. The island provides plenty of counter space and bar seating. Next to the double ovens, antique French doors open to a walk in pantry with sink, extra dishwasher and tons of storage space. Have your coffee in the adjoining breakfast room with fireplace and enjoy the views overlooking the marsh or take the rear winding deck to a quite outdoors escape. Immediately off of the kitchen, is a casual dining area and stainless steel grill, a great place to have lunch while listening to the waterfalls from the pool. When it is time to truly relax, take a soak in the very private 8-person hot tub, with its’ unique design that cascades down into the pool and is surrounded by lush Tropical foliage.
On the 2nd floor, you’ll find a laundry room and two bedrooms. Each bedroom has a Queen bed with its’ own private bathroom and TV. Down the hall, open the original, antique French doors leading to the master bedroom suite. The master bedroom commands views all around from its canopy bed to its seating area to its chaise lounge. Upon entering the master bathroom, be irresistibly tempted to take a bubble bath in the claw foot tub or take a shower while relaxing on the bench seat with dual showerheads.
Up the stairs to the 3rd floor is the entrance to the front deck, which overlooks the pool and surrounding area, plus the ocean and golf course. The 3rd floor bedroom, complete with a private bath and private deck has a Queen bed and features a double-sided fireplace. From the deck there are spectacular views of the marsh and surrounding area. Also on this floor relax in front of the fireplace and enjoy even more picturesque views from the loft office/sitting room, another great area for children to enjoy TV or time away from adults.

60 Ocean Course is a great property and my family had a great time. This is our 5th trip to Kiawah and it gets better each time. The house is beautifully decorated and the lay out was ideal for us. We never touched the coach house thus my guess is that a party of 10 could easily stay there and have the trip of a lifetime. We will be back the only question is when. I have found paradise!

My children and I had a great Labor Day vacation at this rental. There is plenty of room, the kitchen has easy access to the grill and pool area. It is only a short walk to the beach. The steam shower in the Master bedroom was a dream. You will love the way the home is decorated and appointed with loving antiques built in the home. The two dishwashers in the kitchen area are a plus with a large family. I would recommend the rental for large family gatherings. We had a very memorable vacation. Thanks so much.
