This was our first trip to San Francisco. As regular users of HomeAway, we looked for a nice area and neighborhood to stay in. This house did not disappoint. First, the place itself is very homey and comfortable (my husband loved the recliner). The kitchen is very nice and had all that we needed. We really didn't cook much, but it was great for morning coffee and cereal. The bedroom was large and there was plenty of space. There is a beautiful patio area with nice flowers. One little perk that we liked was the plush robes. The marina area was a good choice. We could walk one block and look at the water and the bridge. We could walk about 3 blocks to the Palace of Fine Arts. This is a stop for most, if not all, hop on hop off tours, which we did as an initial overview. Also, we found several great restaurants on nearby Chestnut street. Cedar was very easy to work with when making our plans. We noticed that the people in SF were really friendly. We had a few people even stop and ask if they could help us, when we were apparently looking lost. The locals seem to know how to relax and enjoy.Did you find this review helpful? A week flew by ... Even in the short time, this place became HOME! Every amenity hoped for and more. Ideal location, quiet neighborhood, comfy place to return to after a day in the city. We felt like we were staying in a friend's home. No complaints from these two Phoenicians ... And THAT is a pretty high compliment! We WILL return!Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I have stayed at three different places in the Marina District. This is a great neighborhood and this was the best house yet. Owner was accommodating and responsive. She is not intrusive into your trip. The house was as advertised. Clean, comfortable and quiet. We really appreciated the bicycles. I could ride and my wife ran on the green everyday. This house is one block off of Muni route, close to grocery stores. Very, very nice place to stay. Cedar, we will be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

My husband and I spent tens days in Cedar's condo in November. We had a perfect time--the location was great. The condo is in a quiet area with a lovely little backyard patio. The waterfront is one street away and the shops and restaurants on Chestnut street are within walking distance too. The condo was clean and well equipped and totally lived up to it's description. We hope to go back next year!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We just spent a delightful week in San Francisco. Cedar's apartment is very comfortable and the location is convenient to many places of interest. We like to explore cities on foot, and this place is perfectly situated. You can walk east along the bay and through Fort Mason to get to Fisherman's Wharf, about a mile and half away. Heading west past the Palace of Fine Arts, it's only a couple of miles walk to the southern end of the Golden Gate Bridge. We also explored Pacific Heights and got as far as the Painted Ladies in Alamo Square. On other trips to San Francisco, we'd gotten familiar with the Muni lines, but this trip, we only took buses a couple of times...we just didn't need them, there was so much to explore within walking distance. The kitchen was the best equipped of any place we've ever rented. It's nice to have Safeway just a ten minute walk away. And of course, lots of good restaurants over near Chestnut. We particularly liked Isa on Steiner St...and we stopped for Kara's cupcakes on Scott a few times, yum! The apartment was very clean and well stocked with linens and towels...and jackets and coats and an umbrella, which we used on our one rainy day. There is a nice selection of books and VHS tapes for quiet evenings. We certainly hope to stay here again!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This was my second visit to this wonderful Marina apartment. Cedar the owner is always very helpful and thoughtful making your stay comfortable, informative with many little extras that make it a home from home. Always Spotlessly clean plenty of towels, bedding and can easily sleep 4. The kitchen is fully equipped if you prefer to do your own cooking, and the patio garden is lovely and peaceful anytime of the day for relaxing .. It's also within walking distance to Safeway supermarket or alternatively to my favourite area Chestnut street where there are many restaurants to dine out, as well as wine bars, coffee houses and quirky shops to browse around . If you prefer to go downtown or fishermans wharf to ride the cable cars the bus stop is just around the corner. There are so many things to see and do in San Francisco It would take forever to list them all. I am already planning my next visit in 2013 .Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful visit to San Francisco and loved staying in this home in the marina neighborhood. The owner has done a great job and the home is well-furnished and well-equipped. Having bicycles available made shopping for a few essentials very convenient. It is very close to a bus line with access to the entire city. The view of the Golden Gate Bridge just two blocks away is incredible.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed in Cedar's property for three months. Here's all the things we liked: 1) the location (right across the street from the Bay, and five blocks from Chestnut Street which has all the stores and restaurants you could need plus the #30 bus which takes you to China Town, North Beach, the Wharf, and downtown); 2) The apartment was well stocked with towels, bedding, kitchen supplies, paper products and even laundry detergent with a washer and dryer right outside the door 3) The bed was very comfortable; 4)The unit was very quiet. We could sleep with the bedroom window open at night and we weren't disturbed by noise. 5) The upstairs permanent tenants were a very nice professional couple. 6) Cedar was very nice to deal with and promptly answered any questions we had. 7) There was a nice supply of books to read and movies for kids to watch. We mostly watched movies on her free movie channel. 8) The unit has a very nice private back patio which is all your own to use. It was very pretty with mature trees and plantings. We highly recommend Cedar's apartment for your San Francisco stay and would recommend this to any of our friends and family.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I had such a great stay here! There was always convenient parking near by for a friend who came to visit from the East Bay area. It was very cozy and very clean. The small garden was much appreciated, just as the little thoughtful touches the owner provided, which made my stay that extra bit special, a home from home. The location was Ideal and Just a short walk to the Marina, restaurants, shopping, Golden Gate Bridge and the Palace of fine arts. The Sunday morning farmers Market at Fort Mason was a nice find, fresh Seafood, fruit and Vegetables were reasonably priced, especially as I made use of the fully equipped Kitchen during my stay. Travelling on my own I would highly recommend this property, I felt very safe at all times and hopefully I can look forward to staying here again next year.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Stayed here last May for a triathlon event, which could not have worked out any better. The apartment is less then 200 yard from the event area which makes for no driving and lots less stress. Plus, being is my favorite neighborhood in SFO allows for some relaxation, eating at some of the best restaurants, just hanging out and taking a break. Amazingly easy to get around the whole city by bus, made it fun to get in a Giants game at AT&T Park. The apartment is clean, quiet, and comfortable. Everything to make a trip so much more enjoyable then staying at a hotel. I will certainly be back 2012! Thanks Cedar for everything! Owner response: HI Joe, Thanks for visiting again this year and I am thrilled you enjoy my home. I also use the bus it is a real savings over paying to park downtown. I love being so close to the Golden Gate Bridge and all the events that are held in the large park across the street. I do keep extra clothes in the closet as people often do not realize how cold the fog can be and the clothes are all sizes to help a guest stay warm. I look forward to hearing about your race next year Joe. Thanks Cedar
