Our family of 5 + 2 small dogs had a fantastic vacation. We couldn't have asked for friendlier or more gracious hosts! From the moment we first started the booking process to the moment we left to come home after our 8 day stay, not a moment of worry or hassle. Cindy was extremely helpful in plans and didn't hesitate to answer all of our questions prior to our arrival. The horses were friendly and a welcome sight in the morning and a calming experience in the evening. Just to stand at the fence and talk to them and listen to their horse noises...and they came to the fence to greet our small dogs. A peaceful campfire at night by the full moon and relaxing fishing in the little pond. Relaxing on the deck and looking out and watching the horses. We were far enough away from the hectic ways of the tourist area to relax but close enough to enjoy it all. Thank you Cindy for a wonderful and relaxing vacation for the 3 generations of our family. We won't hesitate to visit again!

Our family of four found this small and comfortable home the perfect place to unwind from our hectic lives. The spacious yard with horseshoe pits, small pond and fire ring provided opportunities for us to reconnect with our two teenage children in the eveinings after coming off the lake. The home is comfortably furnished with all the necessities provided and the back deck is a great place to have a cup of coffee or bloody mary in the morning. We will be back again next year.

We loved it and we will return for our future vacations. The ranch house is like a home away from home. It was wonderful to be able to take our dogs with us. We highly recommed the ranch house to anyone who wants an awesome place to take there vacation.

This rental home and location is highly recommended based on our most recent stay to the Raystown Lake area. The home is on a beautiful piece of property with magnificent constellations of stars above the deck and large back yard with pond. The rooms are much larger than the pictures depict with great comfort for a stay of 7. It is a minute or two from stores that satisfy your every need. It is a place were a week's vacation seems like a month away from your day to day routine = a truly peaceful vacation. It really is at the most perfect location for Lake activities, the cave tours, all the sightseeing of the area and serenity when you return to the home to nestle into comfortable beds after a magnificent shower and spaciously current high-end kitchen appliances & cabinetries supplies for a fine meal. There is no break or down time with wifi computer lap tops & cell phone connections. The homeowner is most gracious and accommodating. We had a 'we will visit again' great time at this rental.

I have stayed at the house a couple of times with my family. The home is located on about 7 acres, it has everything you need to just walk in a stay. The lake is just a few minutes down the road, Raystown Lake is a great place to fish, swim, bike, and hike. If you are looking for a quite place that is nice and affordable the Ranch House will be perfect.

My family loved our recent visit to The Ranch House. Our host was very nice. The beds are comfy and the home is charming. The backyard and deck are great. For the price, this property is a great deal!

We had a great stay at the Ranch House last fall. We enjoyed the PA autumn leaves and our time at this great property. I would not hesitate to recommend this very clean property to anyone who likes a cozy country home which is fully stocked with anything you would need. My party loved to cook in the cute kitchen and found everything we needed right there. We enjoyed making campfires by the pond and playing horseshoes in the yard. The Ranch House is very close to the lake and the bike and hiking trails that we were interested in. This property is also pet friendly which was important to us.

I found this home to be extremely clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the close access to the lake and how friendly the owners were. Raystown Lake, which is nearby is a great family vacation spot and I would highly recommend this home to my family or friends. Boxers restaurant in Huntingdon, is where we ate lunch one day... a cute little spot to eat!

Nice home. Exceptionally clean. Fully equipped kitchen and amenities. Quiet and peaceful spot to relax with nearby attractions like Raystown Lake. Town of Huntingdon is very quaint - much to offer. Owners were very helpful and accomodating. Out dog enjoyed the space to run.

I was looking for a place that my group (of 5 persons) could stay at on a weekend in early May. Our trip was finalized about 10 days before the actual date. I sent out a check to the home owner a week before we were to arrive. The check did not reach her in time. I received a very curt email from her implying that I had not sent the check at all and asking that I should pay in cash on arrival. In my opinion, it would best for her not to rent out the place at all in a circumstance where it is obvious that she was cutting it too close to the date. The heat did not work while we were there. Unfortunately, the long list of don'ts in the guestbook did not cover how we could turn on the heat. A mediocre house combined with a not-so-friendly host does not make for a happy weekend getaway!
Owner response: It was clear that this guest was unfamiliar with vacation home rental procedures. This was a graduation weekend for which we had numerous request for reservations. This guest chose not to follow our reservation procedures and return her payment with her signed Reservation Agreement. Instead, we discovered 2 days prior to her check-in, she had arranged for her personal check to arrive from her bank via US mail on the same day as her check-in. It actually arrived one day past her check-in. We had clearly explained at the time the reservation was made that the payment was needed in advance to hold her reservation and to give the check time to clear - in her case was about 10 days prior to her check-in. Had she followed the instructions, no follow-up would have occured. Since no payment had been received as late as 2 days prior to her check-in, the guest was advised to be prepared to pay cash at check-in. At that point, the reservation should have been cancelled, but we tried to accomodate the party anyway. While it is true that we had an unexpected problem with the heat, we remedied the situation within 1/2 hour of a telephone call from our guest. Unfortunately the guest did not make us aware of a problem until a few hours before her check-out. This guest requested a late check-in and check-out which we happily accomodated. This guest's negative reference to a long list of don'ts in the guest book is unjust. All housekeeping guidelines listed in the guest book are previewed in the reservation agreement by the guest in advance. The are no unreasonable or surprise guidelines. The bottom line is that we were completely unaware that this guest was unhappy with their stay and would have done everything possible to make certain that the party enjoyed their weekend our lovely vacation home - which is far above mediocre as the guest indicated.

My husband and I have stayed twice at the ranch house and would go back. A clean, comfortable home that has a great location near the Raystown Dam and the town. The quiet setting has a spectacular deck that overlooks the property. The deck can be used for barbecuing or just relaxing. An all inclusive vacation rental that provides all the amenities one would need. The owner provides a book of various activities in the area. She is also available to assist in any matters that may arise.
