This cabin was perfect for us and it is beautiful. There was a couple things when we got there that need attention and I contacted the owner about them. The next day they were taken care of. He was very quick at responding. We had great communication with the owner. We would definitely rent from this owner in the future. You were a bug part of making our honeymoon fantastic.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for taking the time to review our cabin. We are so glad you had a great honeymoon stay. We hope that you will return for an anniversary stay in the future.

We have been coming to this area since 2005. This cabin is by far the dirtiest and most neglected cabin that we have ever rented. There are rules for pets that are spelled out as "a strict policy and will be enforced". We did not want our dog to get hair on the area rug in the living room,so,we decided to roll it up until we left. When we flipped it over the smell was nauseating and the backing was full of urine spots. The oven was dirty, the drip pans were crusted with burned on food, and the top of the clothes washer/dryer was covered with lint because the dryer vent was not connected and vented into the bathroom. The gas grill was at best unsanitary and at worst dangerous. The bedroom cieling fan was missing a blade and the game system in the loft did not have any controllers. These had been mentioned in the guest registry in 2012 but still had not been addressed. There were cobwebs and dead bugs throughout the cabin. The fireplace in the bedroom was unuseable due to the low flame height. The batteries in the remotes were so low that they would not work and we had to get our own so that we could watch TV.The furnace filter was so plugged up that the furnace would'nt move air.Fortunately, there was a stack of filters on the dryer so that we could take care of that. The bugs were so bad on the back deck that we could'nt use it during the day for two days. These are a few of the issues with this cabin. The bottom line is that we will not be back to this cabin and will never rent from this owner again.Owner response: As responsible vacation rental owners we welcome comments and feedback from our guest. I have to admit that I was taken aback by a one star rating and the overall comments left by this guest. To my knowledge this guest did not contact my cleaner or maintenance person to report any of these issues during their 8 day stay. We take these comments seriously and every item mentioned will immediately be addressed and corrected as of 3-28-13 when the current guest departs. I encourage anyone reading this review to please read all of our reviews prior to making your decision. For the most part we score a five star review from other guest including one that has submitted their review after this guest submitted theirs. We truly regret this guest had a negative experience at Honey Bear Cabin but wish them Happy Travels with another VRBO or Homeaway property.

We arrived on a Friday afternoon and our stay was wonderful! This cabin is nicely secluded with just the right amout of privacy! The kitchen was nicely stocked and the games in the loft are an added bonus. The only bad thing I could come up with is that the bed wasnt very comfortable and the TV in the living room could have been a little larger. We loved the cabin and hope to go back soon. The ower was great to work with a very esy process from start to finish!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We were extremely happy with "Honey Bear" cabin! It was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed the hot tub and swing on the back porch and the two fireplaces inside. The owner was bery easy to work with. He had no problems with directions to the cabin or with the payment process. We would definitely recommend this cabin for couples or families.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Had a great time at the cabin and it was just as the photos show! The property was clean and did not have any issues during our stay. Any questions we had about the weather conditions before we arrived was answered and we would have been notified of any changes that would make it unsafe to get to the cabin. Could not have asked for better service and location!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

The cabin itself was great , however getting to the cabin was scary! It is on a one lane road straight up...and at two points in the road you cannot see in front going over hills to see if someone was coming the other way. I would not recommend this cabin in inclement weather. Other than that nice place.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners.
Owner response: We appreciate all guest responses. We would like for all potential guest to know that Honey Bear Cabin is located in the Tennessee mountains and sits at an elevation of 1700 ft. It is situated in the mountains. For low landers the roads can be a little intimidating but I must clarify that this cabin is not located on a one lane road. It is actually on a two lane road. It does get narrow in spots and there are hills to go up and down (Again it is cabin located in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains), any cabin will have hills to climb. As this guest points out it could be dangerous if there were to be significant snowfall. The Property Owners Association plow the roadway. We always make our guest aware of any potential hazardous wintry weather conditions in advance of their arrival. Our guest safety is paramount.

My kids had a wonderful time in this cabin - they enjoyed it so much that they're already talking about saving up their money to buy it together as adults! The floor plan and hot tub were perfect for tweens. We were amazed how the amenities planned for all our needs - laundry, paper goods, dishwashing detergent, exact information for our arrival and departure. Really well planned out! Very clean and comfortable - hoping to come back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: I just purchased this cabin. I fell in love with it as soon as my real estate agent showed it to me. It is easy to find, easy to get to (no extremely steep winding or narrow roads to navigate) and so close to everything the Smoky Mountains has to offer. I have other properties in the area but think this one will be our personal 'get away' when traveling to the mountains.
Why the Owner Chose Sky Harbor:
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! Sky Harbor is located between both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge so it is minutes from either city and the National Park is literally 3 miles from the cabin door. Sky Harbor is not a cookie cutter cabin resort. There are a lot of cabins in the area but they are not all alike and they are not stacked on top of each other plus there is a lot of mature trees to make for privacy barriers. This may be one of the original cabin developments in the area so there are brand new, like new and some older rustic cabins in the area. It is probably one of, if not the most popular rental communities in the area. Staying in Sky Harbor is like staying in the National Park even though it is just a few miles away.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Relaxation,Tranquility,Peacefulness,Togetherness and Fun. This cabin is a perfect family or couples get away.
