We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful apartment. The living room doors opening on the canal, and the private courtyard table (where we ate supper every evening) with the canal view made our stay here really special. Instant Venice! once you walk into the apartment. It is clean, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is quite basic, but adequate, we cooked supper there every night. Filippo is easy to deal with, and Christina is a wonderful host. Friendly, welcoming, perfectly bilingual, she met us at the station and walked us to the apartment, pointing out all the useful/necessary/interesting spots along the way. The location is great, close enough to Strada Nuova for convenience, and far enough away for peace and quiet. The boat stop is a 2 minute walk. My only complaint, no wifi :( . At first I thought it would be welcome, but with unanticipated phone and credit card issues and the *incredibly* slow 'venice connected' service, that didn't reach the apartment, it was an issue.

We just stayed here with our 2 kids and 1 infant. Filippo was great to deal with, as was his helper Christina. We had a problem with the bathroom that they quickly helped us with. We walked the whole city from this place. It was comfortable and the beds were great. The master is roomy - the kids room smaller but hey we're hardly in there. They really liked the courtyard for playing. Venice is magical - we strolled every evening along the canals. We highly recommend this apartment!.

Spacious, pristine accommodation. Great bed and bathroom. Fabulous location just a few steps away from one of the main arteries into centre but quietly tucked away on side canal. Very close to vaporetto and all shopping needs. Couldn't have asked for more. The icing on the cake was being met at Piazzale Roma by Christina, who quick sorted out our transport needs and escorted us to the apartment and gave us great tips for seeing Venice. First class treatment meant that we quickly and easily settled in. Thanks to Fillipo for great organisation and lovely accommodation. We will definitely recommend you apartment to our friends and look forward to another stay in the future.

Overall, this was a great place for my family! I loved the neighborhood, how close it was to Strada Nova and and the S. Marcuola stop. The private entrance, large courtyard, and canal view were amazing! Opening up the living room doors to the "Rio" each day was wonderful. My girls yelled "Ciao" to every boat who passed. Relaxing & watching the boats & gondolas go by made this apartment! Also, we felt very safe and comfortable here--me, my mom, & 2 young daughters. Although the decor is not the fanciest, it was nice & clean and perfect for vacation and my children. We didn't have to worry about them breaking anything. Cristina was great--she met us at the train station, helped us buy our vaporetto passes, brought MY luggage (while I pushed the stroller) and walked us to the apartment. She grew up in the US so we were able to understand her English perfectly--which is helpful! My only complaints are: there was no-wifi (I really missed being out of touch and the Venice connection is expensive), no satellite TV (my kids really missed Dora, etc.), no dishwasher (we cooked a lot), the microwave didn't work well (or I couldn't operate it right), and there was only 1 a/c unit in the main room so we had to sleep with the bedrooms doors open to get good airflow. Mosquitos were biting us so we did not leave the windows open. Either way, we would stay here again and recommend it to everyone.

Words cannot describe.. but i'll try! Nothing like waking up in the a.m., opening the double door, coffee in hand, and listening to Venezia as it awakes. This apartment is very comfortable and is centrally located to everything you will need. The vaporetto stop is steps away, the grocery store (2) within steps. Oh.. and a cafe' for your morning espresso fix. And then on top of all that.. a great wine store around the corner. This apartment is equipped with all of the essentials. We are renting this place next year. you should too. Ciao!

When booking an aprtment I was really scared. I am sending money to people I don't know for a place I have never seen. When we arrived at the train station a very nice woman was waiting. She walked us to the apartment and we stopped along the way for a map. She made sure that we not only knew were the tourist spots were but also local wine stores, markets, and a whole lot of things we would have not expierenced. When we entered the aparment I was floored. You have private courtyard, the apartment was very clean and fresh, and the waterway was right out side. Everything was in walking distance, the grocery store, shopping, tourist attractions etc. I have three small children and their was enough room to spread out. The most important thing is I felt safe!! This is a wonderful place to stay and I would reccomend it to romantic couples and families. To the owner and caretaker. Thank you so much for making wonderful and beyond my expectaions

Wonderful, very comfortable apartment in a great Venetian neighborhood. You feel like you have your own home away from home. The hidden gem is Felippo's contact person. A resident of Venice for something over a decade, 15 years I think, she is a transplanted American, so you have no language issues as your getting instructions about the apartment; and she is very personable, professional and thorough. This place is a find! Doug Chickering; Kirkland, WA USA

We stayed for 3 nights and what a wonderful location and apartment. Christine met us at the Train Station in Venice (we arrived via train) and took us to the apartment. We purchased a 72 hour Water Taxi ticket which worked well for us to get around. Christine gave us a tour of the apartment and also provided us with information on Venice, where to shop etc. All her information was great. The apartment was well described. It is very large and nicely furnished and maintained. Having a washer was great. The apartment is located on a side canal very near the Grand Canal and has a large patio for enjoying the outdoors. We have stayed in some very nice apartments in Italy but this was the best without a doubt and convenient to all locations. Although there is to be city wide WiFI access we were never able to connect ... certainly no fault of the apartment owner...but if you need WiFI you might want to invest in one of the Internet USB sticks that the different cell phone companies offer. If and when we return to Venice this will be our choice of places to stay.

We loved our 4 night stay in this apartment. The location is great - it's easy to get to everything, and yet it is out of the noise and bustle of the main thoroughfares. Very convenient to a vaporetto stop, restaurants, cafes and convenience stores. Easy walk to the train station. The unit is clean, neat and tidy and has comfortable, modern furnishings. The private entrance and courtyard are a nice touch. The highlights of our trip were: doing Venetian rowing on the lagoon, a day trip by vaporetto to the lagoon islands (don't do an organised tour or you'll spend most of your time in a glass shop), and trying lots of lovely wines in the backstreet bars of Canareggio. Wifi, or some instructions on how to find it, would be most helpful.

The apartment was wonderful, beautifully decorated, clean and well appointed. It was accurately describe in the property description and photographs. The position was fantastic. We stayed for 3 nights with our 3 children. We had plenty of room and everything we could want for. Close to a supermarket, great restaurants and shopping. We walked over to St Mark's square and would get the water bus back to our stop(close by) if the children were too tired. We were close to the stop where you get the water bus to Murano and Burano. It was wonderful to see boats passing by the window and via the lovely little courtyard. The owner was very helpful before we arrived answering all our queries.Christina met us at the train station and helped us get tickets for the water bus and took us to the apartment. She was very helpful and gave us some quick pointers about the area. We had a relaxing stay and only regret we didn't have more time. When we return to Venice we would definitely stay at this accommodation again and would recommend it to all.

Our family of four, including two fully-grown teenagers loved this great apartment, right on a small canal that is picturesquely busy during the day but very quiet at night. The pictures don't do the apartment justice - it's spacious, clean, simply but newly refurbished and complete with its own courtyard. Really you couldn't ask for much better. Christina who met us and showed us round was a charming and informative host. She gave use some good insights about how to get around, directed us to good nearby shops and the market and advised of traps to avoid. We bought such fabulous fresh fish, fruit and vegetables that we didn't eat out much, though surprisingly the sandwiches (tramessini?) at the local Indian-run Italian restaurant were brilliant. This apartment is not in the tourist heart of Venice, thankfully, but pretty well everything is within 20 minutes walk. Just about ideal if you ask me. In conclusion, I'd return to this apartment without hesitation. Many thanks Filippo.

We stayed for 4 nights. There are 4 of us, 3 ladies and 1 guy. We are friends, so we need an apartment that are able to give private space for everyone. The description and photos are accurate. In Venice, it doesnt matter which of part of Venice you stay because all places are very well connected. But it's very important for your stay to be located nearby the vaporetto stop because trust me, you will not be able to drag your luggages for more than 10 minutes and to cross multiple crooked small/big bridges. This apartment is located less than 10 minutes walking with luggages(5 mins without luggages) from San Marcuola vaporetto stop, with one very small bridge. And San Marcuola is in line 1, the most frequent trips compared to other lines. Check actv.com for more info. Shopping lane (route to Piazzale Roma - 10 mins to train station and p.roma)) is very nearby. You can find small market selling perishable items, supermarkets(Coop and Billa), McDonalds and more souvenir shops. Since its very hard to find halal food, we cooked a lot. So, it's really an advantage staying nearby supermarkets. Though it's nearby all the convenient points, the area is quiet. So you can have a peaceful sleep at night. The canal is just a step outside. Quite busy during the day. But, you will not hear anything after 7pm. All in all, i highly recommended this apartment to all.

An excellent choice to experience Venice! Situated a few steps from the S Marcuola traghetto stop (north central), this flat is very comfortable for a family of four including a private courtyard and canal access if you choose to use a water taxi. The flat had all we needed to prepare the meals that we chose and a super market within 5 minute walk. Whether walking or using the water buses (vaporettos), you are centrally located but not in the heart of the tourist area. I highly recommend this property! The listing is accurate and the photos do a good job of giving an feel for the flat. The courtyard is fully PRIVATE within a gated area so you can relax outside, take in an evening meal or simply enlarge your living space in the cool evenings. The beds are new and very comfortable. The second and third single beds are bunk beds plus there is a very nice full bed in the couch (this is more or less a futon type bed, not a pull out couch). It is very comfortable for sleeping or watching a DVD movie! I would definitely recommend the flat to family or friends. A great way to enjoy an awesome city!!!

Traveling with two young grandsons meant finding a comfortable, well-equipped central location and this apartment had it all. Easy to find, very attractive, well-organized and stylish, we were thrilled with the property. It had comfortable beds, wonderful linens and towels, a small but excellent kitchen and a view of boats passing by. The cobbled courtyard was great for the boys to play and there were several excellent shops and restaurants within 10 minutes walk. Close to the Mercuola station for access to the Grande Canal and within easy walking to many other places in Venice, we would stay again and highly recommend this property. Thank you!

My family of four stayed in this apartment in Venice for three nights. We loved the apartment. It's clean, large and well maintained. Also, it is very close to the train station and only a 15 minute walk or so to St. Marks. In addition to that, near by you can find a grocery store, a great bakery, a smaller food store and several open air fruit and vegatble stands. The washing machine is a big plus too.

I am originally from Venice (Italy ...) and I resides, with my wife and son in San Francisco. We rented Filippo's apartment to go visit my parents for 2 weeks. The apartment is charming, very clean and has all the amenities that you need. Filippo is always available if you need anything and the overall settings very professional indeed. It is situated in one of the most authentic areas of Venice where one can experience the "Venetian" life. Originally, I choose that location because my grandmother used to live there. I absolutely recommend this place, you will enjoy it! If you want to ask me anything more please fill free to email me at: nicolocaldera@sbcglobal.net

This is a bit late (well, a LOT late) but I discovered that I neglected to leave any feedback for our stay at this lovely apartment (in October 2010) on our first visit to Italy and Venice, so I am rectifying that oversight. Everything about the apartment was perfect-the neighborhood was pleasant and quiet, the local shops and osteria were excellent, and the apartment interior was stunning and spacious and of very high quality. The canal-side location was icing on the cake-it was great for just watching the Venetian world go by. We actually slept in one of our days on purpose just to be able to enjoy the apartment a bit more! Our greeter met us at the Alilaguna stop and personally escorted us to the apartment, pointing out the best shops and restaurants along the way-it was a very nice introduction to this magical city. She also gave us a lot of useful information and tips about Venice, which were invaluable for our stay. The apartment does not have Wifi, but my 3G capable iPad worked flawlessly inside the apartment (there is a TIM store within a 5 minute walk of the apartment, complete with an iPhone-friendly staff). We have rented short stay apartments in several European cities, and this one is close to, if not at, the top of our list-I heartily recommend this apartment without reservation.

We (3) stayed four nights in Filippo's apartment in Venice. It has a very central location, within walking distance of the train station and the major sites. It was exactly as described. The apartment is well maintained, very stylish, and scrupulously clean. The shower was lovely. Gondolas passed by on the canal outside our window. Filippo arranged for someone to meet us at the train station. This was a real plus. We walked to the apartment and there's a vaporetto stop very close by. We were installed and out visiting Venice within an hour of our arrival. I would recommend the apartment to family and friends. I hope it's availale the next time I visit Venice.

I just returned from a month in Italy with a friend. Our first lodging was Filippo's lovely apartment located right near the Casino and just a few blocks from the San Marcuola vaporetto stop and shopping. The apartment was very close to everything yet very private. It was also very clean with windows that really cut out the outside noise (all our other rentals had very old windows that did not close well and let all the outside noise in and well as the bugs and drafts). The shower was great. The apartment has it's own private lovely courtyard. Christina, who was very kind, met me at the bus stop, helped me get my vaporetto pass and then escorted me to the apartment where she showed me how to work everything. She was very helpful and welcoming. I can't wait to come back. If possible, I would try to stay here again.

We are a family of 5 that statyed in Venice from July 28th-31st. Christina met us at water bus stop and took us only a short walk to get to the apartment. She was very friendly and helpful. The apartment was quite nice and suited all our needs. Living room doors looked directly over a canal and we could enjoy the boats going by. Apartment was large and great with three adult children. Right down the street from main shopping, restaurants and grocery store just a short walk away. Kitchen has what needed to enjoy dining in if wish. Not very long walk to get to the Rialto Bridge. Very easy to get around Venice with the water busses, walking, etc... We visited both islands of Murano & Lido while there. We would definitely stay at this apartment again and would recommend it to others.

This is a wonderful apartment for a family with comfortable rooms for everyone. The apartment is fully equipped with bedding/kitchen essentials and is very clean and wonderfully maintained. We met Christina (the apartment manager) at the newspaper stand by the train/bus station and she escorted us to our location. The private courtyard is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine and watch the occasional boat going through the canal. Filippo has created a binder with information about the apartment and the surrounding area for shopping etc. While there isn't internet access in the apartment, you can sometimes get service near the courtyard entrance. We walked most of the city as well as bought a 72 hour vaporetto pass to get around the town and to go to Murano (go in the morning before the glass museum closes) and Lido (pack a bathing suit). We all throughly loved Venice. It is truly a magical place and would not hesitate to stay in this apartment again. Thank you Filippo.

We stayed at Fillipo's apartment for 4 days in May. It is in a great spot, in a quiet street, but just a few meters from the Strada Nova where you can find green grocers, food shops, fresh espresso, bakeries (try the pistaccio torte!), gelato, and restaurants (can you tell we like to eat?). There is a great wine shop on Calle dei Preti, just 2 minutes walk away, where they sell wine on tap to take home for great prices. The apartment is canalside, with a great french door that opens to the canal. Boats pass by every few minutes (frequently enough that my 5 year old daughter would get excited, run to the window and shout Ciao! to the passing boat driver; but not so often that it felt noisy or intrusive). The apartment is very clean, new, and safe. There is a wonderful courtyard that is peaceful and perfect for sipping wine and eating cheese and salami from the market around the corner before you go out for the evening. The courtyard is completely fenced in (and the french door opening to the canal has a high, secure railing) so we felt safe letting our daughter run around the place. The kitchen is small, but very serviceable and a great way to save money in an expensive town. There is a vaporetti/tragheto stop very close to the apartment, though you can walk to most parts of venice in 20-30 minutes (and save the 6$ each way per person fare on the vaporetti - ouch!) It's not immediately close to St Marco or Rialto, but quickly, you will appreciate being away from the crowds and in a more peaceful part of town. Fillipo was very responsive and sent someone to meet us at the vaporetto. Everything was as promised. It is hard to think of anything wrong with the place - it is on the ground floor, so no sweeping views or sunlight flooding the apartment all day long, but really you can't go wrong with this place.

We are 2 retired adults, and stayed at this property from May 5-7, 2010. Filippo promptly replied to my email requests regarding information, directions, etc. The apartment is an easy 15 minute casual walk, pulling our suitcases, from the Venice train station.Google maps certainly helped to find the proper way. Christina met us at the apartment, and gave us plenty of suggestions of the area. Her friendliness immediately made us feel welcome and at ease in a new city. The apartment is simply amazing! A private courtyard entrance led to the ground floor apartment (no stairs). A huge living room-kitchen featured a very comfortable pull out couch, chairs, large LCD TV, dvd player, dining room table with chairs, stove, microwave and all the kitchen utensils you would need. The large living doors looked directly over a canal, with boats constantly going by during the daytime. The bathroom was gigantic compared to the usual European ones, with the best shower ever. One large bedroom had a queen size bed, the other had bunk-beds, both rooms with lots of cupboards. The apartment was very quiet - never were we disturbed by neighbours. The apartment is a 3 minute walk from the Vepareto stop (water bus), and a one minute walk from a main street, with a grocery store and all kinds of restaurants and shops close by - very handy to walk to the Rialto Bridge. Venice is just great - a walking city. Vaparetos are expensive for individual trips, so we got a 24 hour pass, and travelled all over the city, including to the Island of Lido - a must visit. My thanks to Filippo and Christina for their help. We would deffinitely stay at this apartment again, and plan to reccomend it to all our friends.

Filippo was fantastic, met us at the vaporetto stop (you can walk, but we have to small kids (3 and 5). The apartment was great. Lots of space for the kids to run around. They loved waving to the passing boats from the window. In the courtyard, there is also a nice table to enjoy lunch outside and from there you can also view the canal and boats. The kitchen was fine for our needs, we did cook quite a bit. The stovetop was a bit tight, but we worked it out. It was easy to walk to the markets, there's a big one on the way to Rialto. Also shopped Rialto for fresh seafood and produce. The bedrooms were also comfortable. Though the bunk bed isn't really for small kids, so we had to stuff a lot of blankets and pillows in between the rails and the mattress to keep them from getting stuck. Worked out fine! We loved the apartment and would love to stay there again. I would recommend the apartment to my friends. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Fantastic location and great accommodation. We are a family of 2 adults and 1 toddler (18 months) and this apartment worked great for us. The open floor plan was perfect for our toddler and the room set up was great. We brought our own travel bed for our toddler (Filippo had one for us to use, but our son is used to his own) and set it up in the smaller bedroom that has the bunk beds in it. We slept in the larger bed. The bedrooms have great shut out curtains that helped us and especially our little one overcome jetlag. The rooms also let in a lot of light when you need it so that helped with the jetlag as well. The living room and larger bedroom have views of the canal, but the smaller room has a view of the courtyard. This was great so that the passing boats didn't disturb our toddler's sleep or naps. The courtyard was great to let our toddler roam around outside safely and have picnics on the bench while watching boats go by. The apartment came with everything that we could have needed for our stay and it was so close to everything that it made sightseeing, grocery shopping, and getting back for naptimes/bedtime for our son very convenient. Filippo was also a fantastic host who went above and beyond to accommodate us on our stay. In addition we had some trouble with our connection and delays with our flights and went out of his way to help us get settled and checked in even though we got in around midnight! We are definitely going to try to stay here again on our next visit back to Venice and we recommend this apartment to all of our friends when they ask about places to stay in Venice.

Filippo's apartment was spotless, brand new, tastefully decorated, extremely comfortable and very conveniently located. Our family of four had a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend it as the perfect apartment for Venice. Canareggio the neighbourhood is beautiful-the apartment is quiet and peaceful but is steps away from the San Marcuola vaporetta stop and from a bustling street of cake shops, bars, market and stores in the other direction. When you are tired from the walking, you can sit and relax and watch the many boats go by in the canal from the living room. You experience the real Venice! Thank you Filippo and your sister for showing us to the apartment. We will be back!

The Apartment was better than advertised! Watching the boats pass by on the small canal was mesmerizing. It seems the place was recently renovated with high-end windows and doors providing very adequate security - we felt very safe about leaving our valuables there while out exploring. What a wonderful apartment! My husband and I stayed here during the first week of September 2009. It is bright and comfortable and easily accommodated our needs. The apartment is also very quiet. While it is part of a larger building it has a private entrance and we never saw or heard any of the neighbors. It was fun to watch the different types of boats go past the living room windows. It is centrally located, with all the sights of Venice just a short walk away. We loved wandering the neighborhoods with no particular destination in mind. The train station is about 7 minutes away by foot and the parking area about 10 minutes by foot, making trips to the surrounding countryside very convenient. The rental process was easy and Filippo was very helpful in providing information prior to our trip. He even met us at the vaporetto stop and walked us to the apartment. The apartment was delivered as advertised with one exception - there is no washer. Having been to Venice before, we wanted to travel light, so a place with a washer was key. We found a coin operated laundry across from the train station, so it all worked out in the end.

Words cannot adequately describe the wonderful accommodations we had at Filippo’s apartment. It was everything and more. Location, Location, Location. Located just 2 vaporetto stops from the Santa Lucia Train Station in the quite neighborhood of Cannaregio. We were met by Filippo’s sister who took the time to go over everything we needed to know about the apartment and the surrounding area. When we arrived we felt very safe and secure as the entrance to the apartment was behind a locked wrought iron gate which led us through an open courtyard with vines and flowers. It was so nice and relaxing to sit on the couch and watch the various boats and gondola’s go by. Thank you Filippo, for the wonderful accommodations and the ease of doing business with you on this rental.
