Treetops is a private villa located within the boundary of the Virgin Islands National Park, on Bourdeaux Mountain, the highest point on St. John (1100 feet above sea level). Views are of Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands and the Sir Francis Drake Channel between the islands. The elevation affords year round tropical breezes, and air conditioning is unnecessary with the multiple ceiling fans in all areas. The grounds are wooded with several species of palms, bay trees, and fruit trees. The main house has a well-equipped large kitchen with granite counters, a center island, gas cook top, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator with ice maker. The fully furnished guest house has two rooms with baths and complete privacy.
The spacious, private deck contains a 10x20 foot pool and in-deck hot tub, a large outdoor eating area, a hammock for 2, a solar outdoor shower, Ducane gas barbecue with rotisserie, and multiple chaise lounges for outdoor living. Wireless DSL is available throughout the property, and the library consists of multiple games, books, island information, and CD's and DVD's which can be played on the home theater system. Cable TV provides viewing of all major broadcast and cable networks.
Treetops is located in the center of St. John, with easy access to the communities of Cruz Bay and Coral Bay. North shore beaches are only 10 minutes away, and the more distant beaches on the south and east shores of St. John are easily accessible. The Bourdeaux Mountain Road is paved, but the short turnoff to Treetops is unpaved and uphill, requiring 4 wheel drive in wet weather. Shops and a restaurant are less than 1 mile away.

Year Purchased: 2002
We are both native Minnesotans, and enjoy outdoor activities year round. We love to get away in the colder months to warmer climates. We have 3 grown children and 2 gorgeous grandchildren.
Why the Owner Chose Bordeaux Mountain
We have traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, Hawaii and Florida, and have been visiting St. John for 15 years. We always compare our destinations to St. John, and none come close to the climate and raw beauty of the island and the Virgin Islands National Park with its pristine white sand beaches, warm ocean water, lush vegetation, and biologic and geographic diversity. We purchased Treetops because it was the newest (built 1996) and best built property in our price range. The pool was added in 2003. Opportunities abound for snorkeling, diving, kayaking, boating, sailing, hiking or just lounging on the beach and reading a good book. We are always renewed when here on our favorite island.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We love to go to a different beach everyday and swim, snorkel, kayak, sail, read, or picnic. Lounging around the pool and hot tub usually follows, and dining out or barbecuing after a relaxing day completes the experience. We are always on "island time" here, and rarely go to sleep with a tight agenda planned for the following day.
