First floor has a big living room with a large stone fireplace, open covered porch and deck, re-modeled kitchen with dishwasher, one bedroom with a queen and a bath with shower and separate clawfoot tub. Second floor has a master bedroom with a queen bed, a bedroom with two doubles and a bedroom with a twin, and a split full bath. Float may not be available in May & October. CABLE TV, VCR, MW, DW, W/D, FIREPLACE, GAS HEAT, DECK, CHARCOAL GRILL, DOCK, FLOAT. Check-in after 4:00pm.

Year Purchased: 1978
I grew up on the other side of the island, and was lucky enough to inherit this property. I am a financial planner in Bangor, about 55 miles away, and use the house myself when not rented out. Ultimately, it will our summer retirement home.

The Unique Benefits of this House
It offers one of a kind views of Southwest Harbor. It is oceanfront property which is so rare today on Mount Desert Island. It is very close to Acadia National Park. If you are not familiar with the rocky, rugged coast of Downeast Maine it is very unique. It is very quiet and peaceful. There is some great shopping, restaurants, and museums on the other side of the island in Bar Harbor. And there is not better place to get your fill of fresh Maine seafood. There is something about being there that is so peaceful.
