Long Valentine's Weekend

Guest: The Howell, Mi families
Date of Stay: 02/12/12 Review Submitted: 02/20/12

This is our 4th long Feb (Valentine's) weekend we've enjoyed your beautiful home in our favorite "getaway" area! Once we arrive your beautiful "cottage" is always welcoming - and makes us feel right at home! That's not an easy task when there are 3 families with 6 adults and 6 Jr Hi - college offspring and this year a new baby - but this house is ideal! So thank you for sharing - love the improvements - the big table last year - the new wood floors this year. This is lovely.

Family memories

Guest: The K, H-S, and P families
Date of Stay: 09/20/11 Review Submitted: 11/22/11

Thank you for another great weekend of family memories at your lovely home on Lake Michigan! Your cottage (but is more than a cottage - it is a home away from home) is so well equipped for our many siblings and grandchildren and we enjoyed the beautiful view of Lake Michigan. We noticed the new wood floors that are beautiful and were very comfortable in your nice rooms and kitchens and bedrooms. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home for a weekend family reunion! We hope to come back to Glen Arbor again!

Pros - Location (walk to the heart of Glen Arbor), size, stocked with everything a large group needs, kayaks, Lake Michigan, proximity to the dune climb. Cons - No beach chairs and no air conditioning. Would stay here again, so long as the temperature was below 90 degrees. Love Glen Arbor!

Fudgie thoughts

Guest: Blake
Date of Stay: 07/31/11 Review Submitted: 08/18/11

The house was absolutely beautiful. It was wonderful having the opportunity to be close enough to both the lake and the town. I loved my time here and can't wait to return "Up North" as a beloved fudgie.

50th Wedding Anniversary

Guest: Mary Jo & Ron
Date of Stay: 07/17/11 Review Submitted: 08/18/11

We are gathered from MI, FL and CA to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in a special way - a stay at your lovely home in Glen Arbor. It's amazing how short the days are when you have a great place to stay and so many attractions within walking distance or a short drive. The location, amenities, and open space of the house made life easy. Last night as we sat by our fire down at the beach a deer wandered down to the lake for a drink. What a closing treat that was! Thanks from all our family.

Falsely Advertised

Guest: Sheila (USA)
Date of Stay: 07/17/11 Review Submitted: 07/25/11

This house is listed as a 6 bedroom house that sleeps a maximum of 16. In fact, only 5 bedrooms are available to renters. One room that is called a bedroom is not. There is only one way in/out of this room. It does not have a window or a door to the outside of the property as required by Michigan law/fire code. Also, saying that the property sleeps 16 is a stretch. Eight of the sleeping spots are not long enough to accommodate my nephews who are teenagers.

Owner response:Please refer to the pictures and detail to view the beds available which are standard size king (2), queen (1), double (2) and twin (3). The convertible options include a double futon which sleeps 2 located in the reading room, and a loveseat size pull-out couch that sleeps 1 located in the room with the stacked bunk beds. The 6th bedroom has always been referred to as a bedroom as it has two built in bunk beds - each with its own reading light - as well as a shuffle board game table and television. It's a favorite gathering spot for games, story telling, and fun as it is a very large room. We will consider the comment and update the description of this room. Thank you for your interest in HalSeaOn House, we look forward to having you as our guests!

"What the heart has once owned it shall never lose"_Eliot. We shall never lose the beauty of this beautiful place. We all had a grand time at this most inviting abode and are grateful we found it. It added so much to a happy time and made the nuptials of our precious son/grandson/daughter/granddaughter ever so meaningful. We are sad to have to leave and hope to return soon.

Fun time at the lake

Guest: The P. family
Date of Stay: 07/31/10 Review Submitted: 08/18/11

We had such a fun time in your lake house. The lake is so beautiful. This is a great place to have a family vacation. I loved going out on the kayaks. We also loved how close to the town we were. A family of 15 fit very well in here! Thank you so much for letting us use your house. Hopefully we will be back. Thanks again.

We had such a wonderful time in your beautiful home. We are a group of friends that have been friends for 20 years; there were five couples here this weekend and we call ourselves the Happy Hour Gang. So we thank you for your beautiful home that holds in its walls our laughter, our tears, our hopes and dreams, our love for our children, and our cherished memories of being together. We leave having been comfortable and relaxed, full of joy and thankful to this house for holding us all close for a short while.

Presidents' Day weekend

Guest: The R, E, and H. families
Date of Stay: 02/15/10 Review Submitted: 08/18/11

Love your house! We have 12 people and everyone has found their own space - this is the 2nd Presidents' day weekend we have enjoyed your space. I'm amazed that so many people can be under one roof and still you can feel as though no-one else is there - if you want to be alone. Hope we can come again next year.

Date of Stay: 07/04/09 Review Submitted: 08/18/11

We come from "afar and anear" places like N.Y.C., Milwaukee, Grand Rapids, Detroit, San Francisco, Lansing, and Dallas. We had ages 5 months to us senior citizens of young 66. Your home was perfect for our many needs and the Glen Arbor community is perfect for accessibility and variety. This is the first year our group has gathered in the Glen Arbor community since the 1980's. We Shall Return!

Guest: The N. family
Date of Stay: 06/21/09 Review Submitted: 08/18/11

We brought our family from Grand Rapids, Chicago, Holland and Breckenridge to your fantastic home for our 1st ever visit. We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary with the whole family in one home and just had a best ever week. We so enjoyed being able to walk to the beach and into town. And we were spread out enough to have our own spaces! Thank you for making your home available for families like ours to rent. We felt so at home and felt such rest and peace here!
