Welcome to our Lake House
Lake Cowichan is the second largest body of fresh water on Vancouver Island, BC at over 30 km in length. The lake is located 20 minutes (31 kilometers) west of Duncan along Highway 18. The pristine blue waters and sun drenched beaches of Cowichan Lake offer water skiing, wake boarding, tubing, swimming, wind surfing and canoeing.
Our Lake House is located just 1 km outside of Youbou and offers you incredible lakefront living in this 3500 sq/ft five bedroom walkout.
Cowichan (Quw'utsun') means 'land warmed by the sun'.
In the Cowichan Valley rolling mountains, undulating rivers and pristine lakes come together to form the backdrop of the Cowichan; a place of incredible beauty, timeless traditions and tidal rhythms. Nestled between the bustling cities of Victoria to the South and Nanaimo to the North, the Cowichan Valley offers a wide choice of things to see and do throughout the year, from exploring the wine country trails, to unforgettable fishing, kayaking, hiking and golfing adventures.
Bedrooms
All of our beds have top quality plush mattresses to ensure a good nights sleep (new 2009).
Master bedroom has a king bed, walk in closet, iPod ready clock radio and master bathroom with double sinks. The master bedroom windows overlook the lake.
Two other bedrooms upstairs have queen beds and a shared full bathroom. There is also a sofabed in the office on the main floor.
There are two bedrooms in the basement, one with a queen bed and a fabulous view of the lake and one with two double/single bunk beds.

Why the Owner Chose Lake Cowichan
After vacationing in the area we realized we had found a hidden gem. The water is so clean and clear and compared to most lakes in the summer there is lots of room for water sports. We have the feeling of being secluded but are only an hour from Victoria.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We love spending time on the dock and the beach while the kids play in the water.
Owner's Map of Lake Cowichan
My wife Brenda and I love being near water. We fell in love with this beautiful area the first time we came here.

We spent our 50th wedding anniversary with all our family in this beautiful lake house. All the amenities were top notch, beds luxurious, lovely deck with large bbq, kitchen great to work in even with too many helping hands! The kids spent most daylight hours in and out of the water and flying off the diving board. We brought our kayaks with us and also used the pedal boat and row boat. The lake is pristine and peaceful and we enjoyed using our own kayaks as well as the pedal and row boat that belong to the house. All in all, a perfect week with cooperating weather, happy family and wonderful memories to treasure. The owner was very helpful and informative and had decorated the house in a tasteful and simple manner that was relaxing both to mind and body.....many books were read in that short week! Thank you, thank you.

We just got back from a week at Cowichan, tanned, relaxed, and already thinking about going back next year. The "cottage" is immaculate, impeccably decorated, and spacious enough that twelve of us (6 adults, 6 kids) had more than enough room. The place is furnished with everything you could possibly need, including a pool table. The location is one of the best on the lake, with a beautiful view across the bay and all day sun on the dock. The 3lb rainbow I landed (off the dock no less!!) was just an added bonus. Our reunion is an annual event, and we all agreed that we would book this place again in a heartbeat.

This property is beautiful in all details inside and out. The rooms are large and bright and very well furnished. The lower level is bright and very pleasant. Our grandchilden did not feel banished, but felt they had a space of their own, and we were able to live lego free upstairs. They loved the pool table, and we used all 3 boats supplied. The weather was unseasonably cool so only the children jumped in the lake. The site itself is very peaceful right above the lake. It is a bit of a drive to other areas, but we did several side trips as the whole island is quite spectacular. The children especially enjoyed the Nanaimo aquatic center. We all used the wave pool and hot tubs too. We did not tube on the river due to the temperature, but would have loved to have done so. We all saw some bears on our drives. A thrill for us. The owner was helpful on the phone. We would recommend this home to anyone desiring a peaceful vacation. From the welcoming bouquet to the end our our week we had a superior vacation.

We have just returned from a fabulous time staying at Tim & Brendas lovely house on Lake Cowichan. We were staying there with our friends so 9 of us lived very comfortably. The children enjoyed the canoe & rowing boatthat belonged to the house. They tried to catch fish off the deck while the adults enjoyed the sun. We had some great BBQs sitting around the firepit. We would like to thank Tim for allowing us to stay an extra 9 days while we were stuck due to the volcanic ash cloud. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this house & can't wait to return to see it in the summer. Bedfordshire, England

This home is amazing. Our family has been renting on Cowichan Lake/Youbou for about 8 years now and have rented various homes on the lake. This one by far has been the best. The home is tastefully decorated with very comfortable beds, furniture, tv's and pool table. Everything was high quality down to the bunk beds in the kids room. Thank you Tim and Brenda for the hospitality. We will be back!

We would like to thank Tim and Brenda for allowing us to stay 10 wonderful days in their beautiful vacation home. We were able to go fishing every morning in the boat Tim provided. We spent alot of time just enjoying the sun on the dock. We also enjoyed playing board games in the evening, also provided by Tim and Brenda. One of my favourite things to do was playing pool in the entertainment room. I have no problem recomending this wonderful vacation home to anyone. Thanks again Tim and Brenda.

One of the best vacation rentals we have ever had the pleasure of renting. The house was even more spacious and well appointed than in the photos, the grounds were gorgeous and very well cared for, and the house is perfectly situated on a quiet street with southern exposure and all day sun. Tim and Brenda were so easy to deal with and have truly thought of everything. Highlights of our time include waking up to the amazing views each morning, going for swims throughout the day (the water was crystal clear), cooking meals in the spacious kitchen (which had everything we could think of), eating on the deck, shade seeking on the 2nd patio, taking the canoe out for paddles, walking through nearby Price Park, many a laugh in the pool room, enjoying the great fire pit, and watching the beautiful sun sets from the fabulous dock. We also visited Youbou (great pub), the town of Lake Cowichan (very sweet), some local wineries (Averill Creek was very close and had a gorgeous area in which you could bring your own picnic and sit overlooking the vineyards)... and planned to do a few more things but the time just went too quickly. I really can't say enough about this property. We had such a great stay and can't wait to be able to tell others about it - and hopefully be back soon ourselves!
