Within two blocks of Main Street of Shell Lake, which will include grocery stores, restaurants, stores, post office, and the library. Within a block from the city beach and park. Within a mile of the Museum of Woodcarving.

The large lake that is three-by-four miles has sandy beaches, crystal-clear water, and has excellent fishing for walleyes, large and small mouth bass, pike, muskies, and pan fish. The beach nearby provides an excellent swimming area. There is also a private beach that includes a dock, a small boat, and a fire ring. There are many trout streams nearby.

The cabin is also wheelchair accessible.
