Beautiful Home for our Ladies Weekend

I knew that I wanted to share my love of Montreat with my family, friends, and future in-laws as I was planning a women's weekend leading up to my wedding. This home was such a perfect space for us to visit, dine, and enjoy our time together. The three levels of bedrooms allowed us to spread out without crowding one another, and we liked having the bedroom on the main floor for anyone who needed to avoid stairs. We are a group that seems to always end up in the kitchen, and the spacious layout was great for that - as was the dining and living area for our other times of day. The weather was a bit on the cold side so we didn't spend time in the spacious backyard or porch - but both looked so inviting!! Overall, the home met the photos of the listing and was very well taken care of. The instructions were clear and helpful. The owner was also helpful leading up to our stay in helping us with finding a nearby dinner location in Black Mountain. Anyone looking to house a larger group in the beautiful part of the world that is Montreat should feel confident in choosing this home.

Perfect Home for Girl's Weekend

Growing up, our family visited Montreat often; and as I thought about the location for a girl's/bachelorette weekend before my upcoming wedding, the Asheville area seemed a perfect fit. This was a cross-generational weekend and the house was the perfect setting for this important time of having family & friends stay in this gem of a house. We loved having the space of all three levels, including the bedroom on the first floor for anyone who appreciates not having to climb stairs. The different bedding arrangements were easy for our group to understand and the large living area and kitchen were perfect for our late night talks and meals as a group. The property was clean, well-maintained and we are so happy to have spent the weekend here. The owners were very helpful in providing some suggestions of dinner places leading up to our trip, as well. This house is perfect for anyone looking to retreat to Montreat, but also be nearby Black Mountain and, of course, all that Asheville has to offer.

The house is spacious and it and the property were very clean. However, there were several items in the kitchen cabinets/refrigerator (i.e. salad dressing) that were questionable as to length of shelf time and/or expiration date. The note board in the dining room with take out menus is a good idea although we didn't use it since we prepared most of our meals. The list of do's and don'ts on the refrigerator was extremely helpful. Recycling is important to us and we were happy to recycle the plastic, glass and cans. But we didn't see any mention of paper or cardboard recepticles. It would have been helpful to me to know if the house was serviced by on-site water and septic or public water and sewer, when the water was tested last and the test results. We eventually found the switch for the garbage disposal but a note would be helpful as the note about the spray attachment for the sink was helpful. All in all the accommodations were great.

New Year's Montreat Retreat

We had a magnificent time in this retreat for a cozy New Year's celebration! The comfortable space surrounds a warm fireplace and offers a variety of spaces for gathering. We loved playing games and eating together at the large dining table, preparing meals in the spacious kitchen, watching football games in the den, and telling stories around the fire in the family room. We were a stone's throw from all the amenities of Black Mountain and Montreat - hiking, shopping, and dining - and were able to enjoy all of them throughout the weekend. We were also about 30 minutes from downtown Asheville and had the opportunity to explore its unique downtown area and the beautiful Biltmore. You will surely enjoy this wonderful space!
Owner response:Thanks for the review. We are glad that you had a good time!

We have rented several homes over the years in Montreat and this one ranks as one of our favorites! Spacious living area and wonderful kitchen! It is so rare to have a back yard in Montreat - basketball, frisbee and BBQs are no problem here. Easy access driving and nice walk down to Conference central. Very clean and obviously loved home. Highly recommended!
