We rented The Orchard for three nights --- made it our base for exploring Zion. The Orchard was everything everyone has been saying ---- extremely nice, quiet and comfortable. Added bonus --- I slept like a rock. Only one downside, really --- it took 25 minutes to get to Springdale (Zion). So we could only really get there once a day...whereas if you stay IN Springdale you can go in and out of Zion all day. A minor gripe and nothing against The Orchard. We still had a great time. Just knocking around the rural neighborhood was fun, too. Restaurants to put on your list: Main Cafe in Hurricaine (b-fast, lunch is great; service is iffy) Oscar's in Springdale (casual dinner) Also...if you're coming from Vegas, stock up on booze. It's pretty dry in Utah, you know, and I don't mean just the desert air.

We have had an amazing time at The Orchard. We went biking almost every day and we hiked to Angel's Landing. It was beautiful and the biking was SUPER FUN!! We will for sure come back because of the amazing memories. I will miss this place a lot and my room! (Which was the one downstairs out to the hot tub with DREAM over the bed, it's the best room in this place!) I LOVE this house & hot tub! (Karl)

We have stayed in many rental properties throughout the US and we will always remember this one fondly. Robert and Jane were so helpful to us and have outfitted their property with great care. If you sneeze, you will find a box of Kleenex nearby. So we slept 7 very comfortably. The bathrooms were lovely. The kitchen was great to cook in.

We had a wonderful time and really appreciate your Christmas decorating. Also the "little things" (cleaning supplies, soap, napkins, nuts, etc.) you furnished were most delightful and appreciated. It was very nice for us to be able to spread out and have together time as well as private space.

My family met at the Orchard for several days in December, and we had a wonderful time. Everything was as described, and it was in immaculate condition and was even decorated for Christmas. We loved actually eating nuts from the orchard, and yes, there really is an orchard! The house is very convenient to grocery stores, and of course, Zion National Park is just down the highway. After a day spent hiking, we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub in the evening! We would certainly like to return and can unreservedly recommend this property to others visiting in southern Utah!

The orchard was beautiful, spacious and quiet. The owners were very helpful and accommodating to our group and made us feel right at home. The location is great for any mountain biking, hiking, dining, etc in the area. Awesome view from the deck in the evening and large hot tub was quite enjoyable. Definitely recommend!

My brother and his wife came from North Carolina and we came from New Mexico to enjoy your home and a great family gathering. (It has been three years since we have seen each other.) Your home is ideal for groups with its great kitchen and lots of bedrooms and baths. Our dogs enjoyed the freedom of a large fenced in yard. The location is ideal for travel to Zion, Bryce, Red Rock Canyon, Cedar City, St. George, Virgin River Gorge, etc. Close to all these beautiful places. We all had a wonderful time.

We found the home to be very well appointed with all the necessary items to make a wonderful vacation home. The kitchen was completely furnished with all the necessary equipment and the bed linens were fresh and new. The property was centrally located for a visit to Zion and Bryce Canyons and was convenient to grocery stores and restaurants. The orchard was a nice shaded yard for our pets and it was much appreciated that we could bring them to our "family reunion". Thank you for your lovely home - you are terrific hosts.

A welcoming home for 4 tired and hot travellers: 2 little dogs and 2 friends. We found the spaciousness and cool quiet lovely, the proximity to Zion National Park fabulous. The beds were firm and comfortable and the house was well stocked. Here's what we both felt deserved attention: couches and chairs in livingroom needed restuffing...we sank and sank into them. Secondly, the gardner watered the ample garden for many, many hours...so the garden was too soaked for us to enjoy....when he came again to water and really clean and sweep around the property it was the day before the owners were returning...too late for us to see and enjoy the property really spruced up. Timing is everything. But we enjoyed our stay and will remember La Verkin fondly.
Owner response:Thank you so much for the useful feedback! And you're right about "timing is everything" because we've been planning to replace the living room furniture and aimed to have it done prior to your stay. We hope you'll accept our sincere apology for not getting it done in time. Regarding the over-watering by the yard maintenance man, again, we extend our sincere apology for that. Please note that in October we are replacing the entire irrigation system with a new timer-based system (versus the existing manual valve system) so that what you experienced won't happen again. Thank you again for your feedback!

WOW! What a great week! Angel's Landing, Emerald Pools & The Narrows at Zion--our favorite hikes. Owen's Garden & Navajo Loop Trails in Bryce, Bright Angel Point & Cliff Spring Trails, Point Imperial & Cape Royal at the North Rim followed by a spectacular dinner & sunset at the Grand Canyon Lodge. A soak in your hot tub was a welcome treat each evening, as well as enjoying the comforts of your home. The Orchard is an oasis in the desert and we had fun walking thru the garden enjoying the solitude & identifying trees. Thanks for the apricot bread, cherry & peach sorbet & jam. They were a nice treat after a long drive.

From the start, it was clear that the owner's descriptions (both verbal & pictorial) of -- and directions to -- "The Orchard" were accurate and complete. The minute we walked in the front door and did a walk-through, it was even more obvious that "The Orchard" would very easily and comfortably accommodate our large group, whose ages ranged from 15 to 76. Every room was fully and attractively furnished, and, frankly, I would kill for a kitchen like The Orchard's! We also found it very helpful to have the owner's suggestions as to local markets/restaurants. As for the latter, based on the very excellent dinner/service we enjoyed at the Switchback Grille in Springdale, I would recommend it very highly. Of course the majority of our time was spent at Zion, which is an easy drive from The Orchard. Here too there were activities for everyone -- ranging from the gentle to the very strenuous which, again, suited all the assorted physical abilities represented in our group. All in all, everyone was absolutely delighted with this experience and would unreservedly recommend it for others.

Thank you so much for the lovely home very far away from home. We were weary from horsing around Arizona (Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, Hopi Lands). We were glad to be in a home. The goodies from your orchard were fabulous and a nice welcome. Zion and Bryce were amazing, Zion with the lovely river which was energizing and an oasis in the heat. Every chair on the porches were enjoyed, every comfy corner utilized. A great lounge for tired teens. Thanks again!

This place was an oasis for our 2 families (with offspring 14, 17 and 20). The house was lovely and comfortable (great mattresses), easy to find and well stocked. It was easy to get to Bryce and Zion and we loved coming back to this home away from home. The owners generously left us jam and nuts from the orchard and were readily available by phone. We would happily return.

We all had an excellent time. Enjoyed the fresh apricots off the tree. Wish the trees had been labeled so we would know what else was there. Very relaxing watching the sun come up and set over the mountains from the upstairs deck. The hot tub was well used after hiking. Would reccommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in the Zion area.
Owner response:Barb: Thank you for your feedback. We very much appreciate it. We are going to put together a "map" of The Orchard so that future guests will be able to know what each tree is. Guests will be able to walk the yard with the map and easily identify what is what. So, again, thank you Barb!

What a wonderful stay! We have thoroughly enjoyed exploring Zion & Bryce Canyon as well as relaxing on your deck watching the sunsets. Thank you so much for the delicious sorbets, fruit & fig bread--it was a lovely welcome. Also, thanks for the vase of flowers. Went most of the way to Kolob Reservoir--what a beautiful time, so quiet and the meadow flowers were just lovely. So glad we went. A happy stay in a very well-equipped house--everything we needed (except corn-on-the-cob holders!). Thank you!

We really enjoyed ourselves and it was a wonderful experience! The weather was quite a change from humid South Florida and the dry weather is amazing! I can walk outside and not sweat! The garden is spectacular, very unique. Horse back riding was great and so was the ATV tour. Angel's Landing was killer, but this vacation was enjoyable and an eye opener to the beauty of the Grand Canyon (and surrounding areas). This was an incredible stay and we made the most of our time here. Thanks for everything!

We were 8 people from Denmark, Europe- all travelling in the US for the first time. After staying in New York an Las Vegas we felt that coming to the southern Utah and The Orchard was like coming to the real USA. We would have loved to stay longer. The house had a great atmosphere. It was spacy, neat and clean and had a great kitchen. The surrounding were surpricingly beautyful with a very various landscape and climate. The owners were very helpfull and gave us several good tips for our travel.

We would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to the Bryce or Zion area. We used this house as our 'base camp' while we were on our Spring Break vacation. The house accomodated all 7 of us (4 adults and 3 kids) perfectly. The house was clean and well supplied with many ammenities. After long days of hiking the kids enjoyed watching 1 of the many movies they had, while the adults enjoyed relaxing on the deck with a mountain range view. I can tell Robert and Jane take great pride in their house. This house was a class-act, 5 star accomodation. I know we will someday come back to the Zion area, but only when we can stay at The Orchard. We have stayed at 6 different VRBO's around the country and this one is by far the best one yet. If it's available, book now.

My family stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday and there was no difficulty in preparing the holiday meal in this well-stocked kitchen. The owners had kindly provided a platter for the turkey as well as a gravy boat for our use! This was our second stay at The Orchard and we will definitely plan to stay here again when we visit the area next. The fenced yard and large property were especially enjoyed by our dog.
