Why the Owner Chose Rockport
Rockport has that south Texas feel but on the coast with generally dry weather and cool Gulf breezes.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The property is secluded with a private 300 foot lighted fishing pier. The best spot on the property is the pavilion midway down the pier where you can nap in the shade and feel the breezes.
The beach is groomed daily and is excellent for picnics, jogging, and for kids to play in safe smaller waves in Aransas Bay.
Take the ferry to Port Aransas and head to the Horace Caldwell fishing pier. Can be awesome surf at end of T head of pier.
At the base of the causeway leading into to Corpus Christi is the Texas Aquarium and an aircraft carrier. My kids and their friends enjoyed this outing many times.
The Aquarium has odd hours but is in Rockport, next to the harbor and behind the art museum. Also on the other side of the harbor is the Maritime museum which is worth the visit.
Pools and skate park; located behind the high school, 25 yard eight lane heated pool with diving area, a walk in leisure pool with slides and fountains. 6,000 square foot skate park with pyramids, gri
Owner's Map of Rockport
I have been vacationing in Rockport since I was an infant. Things have changed a lot over the years but it is still the best place on the Texas coast for fishing, bird watching, windsurfing and sailing. The steady breezes and spectacular Copano Bay sunsets are hard to beat. Our property is in great shape with the main house having been recently remodeled including replacement and upgrade of all interiors, apppliances and amenities. Bedding amenities are of the highest quality and very comfortable.

This is the second year my family has spent Christmas at this wonderful place on Copano Bay. There is so much to do in the area, or you can do nothing at all and appreciate the comfortable home with a great view. Fishing from the pier is great and the sunsets are unforgettable. We can't wait to return.

Lovely experience. The owner and his assistant were wonderful to work with and so accommodating. The home is older but nicely decorated, clean and had everything we needed and then some. I liked the way it was set up (the guest suite is completely separate from the main house, so the "sleeper-inners" took that room). I stayed in the bunk room with my hubby and kids. My parents were in the master and had to walk through the bunk room to get to the kitchen and living area (an unusual set up but not an issue for us). There is a door in the master, however, where one could go around the outside of the house, if need be. The master has 2 queen beds and two private, identical, master baths (a nice surprise). It is essentially a 3 bedroom/4 full bathroom house. The sofa makes out into a bed; from what I was told, it is actually quite comfortable (if I remember correctly, it is half regular mattress, half blow up mattress...hard to explain). All of the beds were very comfortable; it's the pits when you go on vacation and you can't sleep worth a darn because the beds are like plywood. Not here! The property was big and private. We loved the pier and fished at night (it has a light)! I brought life vests for my 4 and 7 year old and they were not allowed on the pier w/o having them on. I'm so glad I came prepared because it is a very long pier and has no kid friendly railing. I could just see them going right in. If you have young children, I highly recommend you do the same. The kitchen has everything you will need (dishes, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, spices, knives, cutting boards, paper towels, dish soap, towels, etc.). There is also cable TV and a DVD player (which was nice to play the kids movie). They even had Scrabble and we had a great time playing that. The property is older so if you expect a nice, new development, this isn't for you. We thought it was great for our family reunion. They even have a grill and we made burgers one night. I guess my only issues is that I have allergies and I had a little bit of a problem, sneezing at night. We all had so much fun and my children asked me tonight when we can go back to the bay house (a month and a half later...which prompted me to get around to writing my review). We will be returning.
Owner response:Thanks for taking the time to write such a nice and detailed review! We look forward to having you and your familiy back next year. By the way, we have added a "kid friendly railing" that is at a height midway between the pier level and the standard railing height and both railings extend the full length of the pier now. Thanks for the idea!

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation on Copano Bay in Rockport! It was just simply perfect for our four generations present, ages 3 to 85....plenty of room, plenty to do there and in the area and great accommodations. There were 9 of us and we had room for more. The fishing was good and Juan was most helpful throughout our week's stay. We will definitely choose this place again in the future.

The rental property was exactly as described and shown in the pictures on your web site. There was plenty of room for everyone - lots of places to sleep and lawn chairs outside to relax in with that great view of the bay. All the rooms were clean and ready when we arrived. The property was very well cared for with beautiful flowers planted all around. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and pots and pans and just about anything we needed. Prior to our arrival, I emailed your property manager with questions and requests and always received a prompt friendly reply . I would recommend this vacation home to my friends and relatives. We enjoyed being there so much that the only time anyone left was to get live bait for fishing. I would recommend that everyone bring swimming shoes and enjoy getting in the water. My neices and nephews enjoyed paddling around in the kayaks and everyone enjoyed fishing and watching the dolphin who hung around the pier. A great place to relax and unwind! It was so peaceful there in the evening. Can't wait to do it again!

My wife and I rented the property for some quiet time away from our hectic schedules and that is exactly what we got. The property is beautiful, the accommodations clean and comfortable. We saw nary a soul during our stay except for Juan who was very helpful in getting us oriented. The pier produced a lot of specs late at night and in the early morning before sunrise. We look forward to our next visit.

We very much enjoyed the surroundings and not being in a neighborhood were you feel boxed in. The wildlife veiwing from the deck and out over the bay was wonderful. Ray and Juan were very helpful with any questions that we had. The house was well kept and clean. I asked Ray about fishing in the area and he was good enough to repond with a whole page of ideas and information.

My family had a fantastic Christmas Holiday at this location. We fell in love with Rockport and this house. The house is comfortable and convenient and offers many amenities. We also discovered Rockport is a wonderful town and easy to get to from Houston. We would definitely return to this Bay Home and to the Rockport Area.

The location was beautiful, well-maintained and convenient to Rockport (with a nice Wal-Mart, HEB grocery store and several good restaurants to choose from). We loved the furnishings, enjoyed the fishing and sunsets and slept great! Our family hopes to stay here again soon and I have already referred the property to friends!

Being 3 ½ hours comfortable drive from Houston, the very well cared for original house and unusually large wooded property, made for an excellent and very quiet getaway. Watching dolphins in the morning, and the spectacular sunset while fishing from the private peer in the evening was a perfect way to relax for the weekend. I am looking forward to going back and visiting again. The owner and property management was also very helpful with questions and taking care of details. Thanks -
