We spent two nights here in late March and wished for more time to enjoy the place. The interior of the home is nicely appointed and the kitchen has every item you could ever need. It's all on one level, which makes it easy for people of all abilities to navigate and enjoy. We had dinners on the screened porch, where the breeze blows through and the scenery includes views of the water. The place is perfect for people who want to relax and enjoy a bit of privacy. We really enjoyed the kayaks and the area is appropriate for beginner and experienced paddlers. We enjoyed fishing from the pier and watching for dolphins (we heard them but unfortunately did not see them). Last but not least, the owner is very nice and easy to work with. Thanks very much!

We had one of the best vacations ever at this property! Everything was as discribed! The only let down was the fishing. We fished for hours with all kinds of baits and techniques, for 3 days and nights but only caught 5 fish total. The fish just weren't there! If possible, I would suggest chumming the area regularly to get the fish used to feeding regularly around the pier for better results. I only say this because our trip was mainly centered around fishing. The property was so nice, we would book again in a heart beat. Thanks for the opportunity!

Owner response: Yes, the fishing can be unpredictable, especially in the winter months and when the water is still cold in March. Another factor is when the cold fronts arrive and when the trade winds swing back around to the southeast. It is hard to catch it just right for fishing then.

We have spent time at this property several times and love it! It is so comfortable and charming. We love the Rockport area but also love never leaving this property. Beautiful sunrises, sunsets and a private fishing dock make this a hit with my entire family. We can't wait to return to Copano Bay.

We have rented several places in the Rockport/Port Aransas area with 15 family members each summer for the last few years. This place is the most comfortable and fitting for our group. Plenty of action on the pier and everything was in good clean working order. We had zero problems with anything. If we wound up in this area again for a family vacation, we will definately want to book this place. Thank you for making it available for us to enjoy.

The property was cozy, charming and very well maintained. It felt like home away from home. The houe was very clean, kitchen was fully stocked with all the essentials, there were 4 bathrooms and ample space for all of our guests. The pictures and description of the property on the website were very accurate. We arrived on Friday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised to walk out of the back door and head straight for the pier. My favorite spot was the guest house. The Owners answered all of my questions and Juan, the property manager, was very helpful. Downtown Rockport is about a 10 minute drive where you can find HEB, WalMart, Walgreens and a row of specialty stores for a unique shopping experience. Rockport also has a beach and host year-round festivals. We are planning on making this an annual event and will return to this property. We have already started looking at dates for 2013.

The house is just what the other reviews said - it has everything you need and feels like you are house sitting for friends! The dolphins in the bay gave us hours of entertainment and my kids said this was their best fishing experience. We had the most luck at night and caught speckled trout, black drum, catfish, and a few other questionable fish. Around 11 p.m. each night, dolphins would swim all around the pier, coming so close we could almost touch them. They also put on a few shows during the day. So fun to watch! There was no need to go anywhere besides a few trips for groceries and bait and it truly was a restful vacation for the adults while the kids (ages 11 and 13) had a blast. The kayaks are great and the bay is pretty calm so we didn't worry about tipping. The water all around the pier is only about waist deep anyway and safe for the kids. When it got too hot during the day, we watched movies and took naps. Very comfortable beds! We will definitely make plans to come again.

This is the second year my family has spent Christmas at this wonderful place on Copano Bay. There is so much to do in the area, or you can do nothing at all and appreciate the comfortable home with a great view. Fishing from the pier is great and the sunsets are unforgettable. We can't wait to return.

Lovely experience. The owner and his assistant were wonderful to work with and so accommodating. The home is older but nicely decorated, clean and had everything we needed and then some. I liked the way it was set up (the guest suite is completely separate from the main house, so the "sleeper-inners" took that room). I stayed in the bunk room with my hubby and kids. My parents were in the master and had to walk through the bunk room to get to the kitchen and living area (an unusual set up but not an issue for us). There is a door in the master, however, where one could go around the outside of the house, if need be. The master has 2 queen beds and two private, identical, master baths (a nice surprise). It is essentially a 3 bedroom/4 full bathroom house. The sofa makes out into a bed; from what I was told, it is actually quite comfortable (if I remember correctly, it is half regular mattress, half blow up mattress...hard to explain). All of the beds were very comfortable; it's the pits when you go on vacation and you can't sleep worth a darn because the beds are like plywood. Not here! The property was big and private. We loved the pier and fished at night (it has a light)! I brought life vests for my 4 and 7 year old and they were not allowed on the pier w/o having them on. I'm so glad I came prepared because it is a very long pier and has no kid friendly railing. I could just see them going right in. If you have young children, I highly recommend you do the same. The kitchen has everything you will need (dishes, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, spices, knives, cutting boards, paper towels, dish soap, towels, etc.). There is also cable TV and a DVD player (which was nice to play the kids movie). They even had Scrabble and we had a great time playing that. The property is older so if you expect a nice, new development, this isn't for you. We thought it was great for our family reunion. They even have a grill and we made burgers one night. I guess my only issues is that I have allergies and I had a little bit of a problem, sneezing at night. We all had so much fun and my children asked me tonight when we can go back to the bay house (a month and a half later...which prompted me to get around to writing my review). We will be returning.

Owner response: Thanks for taking the time to write such a nice and detailed review! We look forward to having you and your familiy back next year. By the way, we have added a "kid friendly railing" that is at a height midway between the pier level and the standard railing height and both railings extend the full length of the pier now. Thanks for the idea!

About the owner: I have been vacationing in Rockport since I was an infant. Things have changed a lot over the years but it is still the best place on the Texas coast for fishing, bird watching, windsurfing and sailing. The steady breezes and spectacular Copano Bay sunsets are hard to beat. Our property is in great shape with the main house having been recently remodeled including replacement and upgrade of all interiors, apppliances and amenities. Bedding amenities are of the highest quality and very comfortable.

                          Why the Owner Chose Rockport:
Rockport has that south Texas feel but on the coast with generally dry weather and cool Gulf breezes.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
The property is secluded with a private 300 foot lighted fishing pier. The best spot on the property is the pavilion midway down the pier where you can nap in the shade and feel the breezes.
