There was plenty of room and the beach was quite accessible for children, people with disabilities, or older folks (no stairs). Everything was clean and comfortable and we had a great time eating oysters and grilling them at a fire we made on the beach in the fire pit as well as on the gas grill. It was nice that boots were available to wear as well. The kids painting rocks and looking at starfish with flashlights at low tide. They found one with 23 legs! My family had an awesome time at the beach house on Hood Canal. The kids and I painted rocks and shells, watched movies and played on the beach. The men kept the fire going on the beach while eating lots of oysters. They ate crabs and clams too. Endless fun! Eagles flying a lizard said "hi" while sneaking into the house twice, sea lions on the dock, seagulls, ducks, hummingbirds, and star fish. Thank you.Did you find this review helpful? We enjoyed ourselves and loved the beautiful location. Thank you for sharing the wonderful Canal experience and its wildlife…whether we are watching seals sunbathing on the dock, picking oysters of the beach, digging for clams, or picking the perfect rock for painting and leaving a lasting memory. We had a wonderful time, this was the best place for scenery, picking, crab, oysters, and clams and fishing, we loved it all. Saw a coyote, Eagle and Seals sing to us at night & day. Loved how the place was stocked with everything a person needed. We’ll be back for sure (worth the money) & nice housekeeper too! Painting rocks was fun & the dogs loved it here too! We loved this place!! Great view, great times!! Never ending supply of seafood – oysters, clams, fish & even a couple of shrimp. Hope to be back again one day.Did you find this review helpful? Thank you so much for the opportunity to enjoy this picture perfect setting. We loved everything about it…from the “Long House” floor plan, the endless supply of oysters, clams and crab, the firepit at water’s edge, exploring in the kayak and the beautiful surroundings for hiking. Well, we came back…one year later. This is the best beach house on Hood Canal. Fresh crab, clams, oysters!! Great seal watching (including baby seals!) kayaking, swimming and naps on the beach. Our family had a wonderful time (again). Thank you so much for sharing your beach house with us. We will certainly be back. I loved the place! Wonderful memories. I happened to capture my son on camera when he discovered the starfish while snorkeling. We saw 4 woodpeckers at the same time. Red-necked Grebes, seals, baby fawn with Mother off he road. Fresh live crab to eat! Smores! Thanks! We saw 5 seals on the platform in the afternoon. I though the baby seal was really cute. The baby seal wasn’t very shy. It was really fun! Thanks! (Age 8) It was a fantastic, beautiful place. The water was so nice to swim in it was nice to relax by the canal! I loved all the little crabs. Our dog loved it too. It was a wonderful time of my live. (Age 9) I like that I got time to snorkel and I saw a flounder. He was about thirteen inches long. I hope we come back next year. (Age 10) I liked the house a lot it had a nice bedroom & living room. I also loved the stream, it was filled with crabs. On the beach the clam digging was so cool. The location was cool because of all the wonderful trails to hike on! (Age 11) We really enjoyed the week – thanks for offering your fantastic cabin and setting for us. Coming to the canal is always revisiting our roots as our family (extended) bough property here in 1942 on Pulali Point in Jackson Cove. One uncle still has a beach house & sponsors a family reunion the last Sunday in July which we will be attending tomorrow, July 25th. This is our third VRBO on Hood Canal and we will be back! You have an amazing beach with great access & an abundance of sights, wildlife and seafood. It is a return to happy times for all of us. A little history – my grandfather was the very first custodian of Seal Rock Park & we spent much time there when I was a child. I always love coming to the canal. This place is so unreal! There is so much to do, and not once do the daily electronic that are so often used even cross your mind. There are oysters right outside and clams and beautiful fire! Everything is so gorgeous out here and am so blessed that I have been given the chance to come here and experience everything. The canal is so mind blowing at sunset, not to mention the adorably baby seal that visits! Thank You (Age 14) First off the beach house is FANTASTIC! I love everything here. The fire pit is perfect for oysters, hot dogs and smores. My favorite thing to do was swim out to the dock and lie in the sun for awhile. The wildlife here is indescribable! From seals, birds and fish. The woods are beautiful and I love the privacy. It’s so nice to get away and get the experience my grandparents had when they were kids. We had such a wonderful time here. It is very kid-friendly. We had 15 month old and a 4 month old with us and I was never worried that they would get into trouble (inside of course). In total there were 4 adults, 2 kids and 1 dog with plenty of room for more. The view is beautiful and the cabin is right on the water. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit very much. If the weather's not the best you can sit in the living room and look out the glass doors and large windows and still feel like you're right on the beach. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your home. It was such a relaxing time and we look forward to visiting again soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a wonderful location! Having the beach right out the door was so fun! The dogs loved the stream, we loved the fresh oysters (true! Even me!). We stayed here and thought a haiku would be appropriate… Our family came, We will never be the same, We laughed and played games. Thank you! We loved the view and the painted rocks! Thanks for such a lovely setting! This is one of the most beautiful & peaceful beaches that I have ever been on for a week. The family enjoyed the oysters, clams & gorgeous Dungeness Crabs. We explored the Mt. Walker scenic view & Waterfall. The Brinnon General Store is out of my era & fun to see. The sea & sky plus verity seals were an adventure everyday. I hope we can come here again next year. Thank you so much for letting us stay here! I love everything here the water, animals and house! I loved the house it was very pretty the beach was to. The seals came every day. I had a great time here. I found 20 big clams and 2 sea snails.
