After the movie you can sit and enjoy the Hawthorne nightlife at a sidewalk café or head to a number of excellent restaurants including Castagne Café, Sel Gris and Three Doors Down.
Coffee culture has reached dizzy heights in Portland and the Hawthorne area is probably the epicenter with Stumptown Roaster headquarter in the neighborhood.

The Portland Art Museum, and the larger performing arts venues , as well as, major department stores are a half hour walk or a single ten minute bus ride to downtown Portland.
If you have a car, you will be able to explore some of Portland’s world class scenic beauty. To the East , Mt Hood offers skiing year round. If you are not a skier, Timberline Lodge is worth the trip. Built by the WPA in the 1930’ s,
Timberline is a classic lodge made of hand hued logs with huge fireplaces. For those not afraid of heights and willing to get off the beaten path for the day The Eagle Creek Trail in the Columbia River Gorge is well worth the effort.
Further East is Hood River, regarded by many as the premier windsurfing/kite boarding destination on the West Coast.
