We regularly host CEO's, media personalities, families & major tour book editors. This is an elegant HOME... not a showcase and not a "rental property". When you stay here, you feel you're in one of the finest homes in the world looking at one of the best views on Earth. We love it, we hope you do, too.
Why the Owner Chose Romantic Zone
We were sailing down the Mexican coast after 9 months at sea and pulled into Puerto Vallarta for the hurricane season. As a curiosity we started looking at the charming old homes downtown. Walking through the hills of Vallarta we saw this amazing stone villa looking out over the city, bay & ocean. We literally said, wouldn't that be a cool place to live. The next day, we found it was for sale. The minute we walked up the stairs and into the main living quarters, we were sold. Literally. Coincidentally, nearly every person who walks into this home has the same reaction.

The layout of the home is designed to give each bedroom it's own private rest space, for the times when a guest wants to get away from even his friends. read a book; take a nap; swing in the hammock. This review is long in coming. Our party consisted of 10 people including artists, engineers, techies, gay, straight, singles, couples, world travelers and people who have never been out of the USA. None of us had been to Puerto Vallarta before. I would not hesitate to return and stay at Casa Ileana again! The house itself exceeded all of my expectations. The photos do not do justice to the feelings of serenity and warmth that the house exudes. No matter where your eye falls - you will be greeted with a fabulous view, an interesting objet d'art, or lush foliage. The property is in a neighborhood and sits perched on a hill - but the beach and shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance. The owners were wonderful to work with and were extremely accommodating with arranging (and rearranging) transportation from PVR due to airline delays. The staff was superb. Attending but not overbearing, friendly, and eager to help with anything we may have needed. Christina prepared the best meals we had during our stay. Overall, we were thrilled with the property, the owners and the staff, and are already thinking of returning.

This is our second time staying here at Casa Ileana over the last few years and it is the most incredible experience. Our first visit was so incredible, my fiancé and I ended up getting engaged right on the pool terrace of Casa Ileana. We are on the long term engagement plan, but that is fine with us, so we ended up renewing our engagement vows again here at Casa Ileana this year. We have been coming here with great friends of ours and have the best time of the year here with many great memories. The view, the hospitality, the accommodations, the service, everything is spectacular and at the highest quality. Short walk too many great restaurants, shops, clubs, beach and activities. We for sure will be back many times in the years to come! Thank you Jon and Sylvia, we love your place!

We have been visiting Puerto Vallarta for over 15 years and consistently name it as one of our top vacation spots. In the past, we stayed at various hotels with various experiences - but as of 4 years ago we discovered Casa Ileana and found our paradise! The photos online are spectacular which is partly what brought us to this villa, but the first-hand experience goes way beyond!! Not only would we recommend this property to friends and relatives, but over the years we have brought them with us to see what we have raved about. The shops and restaurants we love are all within walking distance of the villa - so I can easily go out and spend the day shopping (with a couple margarita stops along the way) and my husband can stay back at the pool reading his book (with a couple margaritas). There are some new spots that have popped up over the years, yet our favorite date-night is always at Cafe de Artistes and lazy day at the beach is at LaPalapa. I love buying things for my home while traveling and on this trip I found Elements - I would bubble-wrap and ship the entire store home if I could!! We always take little excursions when we visit - last year we went 4-wheeling through the jungle, which was awesome. This year we went took a water taxi to a small beach spot just before Yelapa - had an amazing day of kayaking, snorkeling and wonderful margaritas. Back at the villa, the staff is very warm and pleasant, making sure everything is as we request - yet our only request if for fresh guacamole and cold cerveza (do you notice a theme :). We are already planning our return visit to our private villa in our favorite city!!!

My wife and I have been coming back to this same villa for several years now. The villa itself is quite large with spacios rooms and an open air feel. The pool is a great place to relax after a day exploring and before heading out for the evening. The location could not be better. Short walking distance to a number of restaurants, the beach, the Malecon along the ocean and the shops. The staff does an excellent job keeping the house clean and tidy and the breakfast that is prepared daily is always a treat. We will definately be back!

I recently spent 5 days at Casa Ileana and can honestly say that it was the most magical, relaxing vacation I've had in years. If you want peace and quiet, the house has enough private spaces to satisfy even the most solitude-seeking among us. If you crave the company of those lucky enough to have accompanied you on your visit, you can be poolside, or stretched out in the beautiful living room, or gathered by the bar where you can enjoy delicious food, drink and conversation. Every room has something special about it, be it an amazing view, a hammock hideaway surrounded by jungle, or the most amazing shower you're likely to encounter this side of heaven. Casa Ileana is in the perfect location, being above the beautiful town of Puerto Vallarta with amazing views, but close enough to easily walk down the hill and take part in restaurants, bars and the beach. I will definitely be back for more. My only problem is deciding who gets to share this amazing, magical spot with me.
