They have 2 bookshelves with an assortment of summer reading. The BATHROOM provides your basic needs with a sink, a toilet, and a hot shower. In the LIVING ROOM, there is a double sofa bed and 2 rustic cottage chairs. A picture window overlooks the bay and evening sunsets. For those cool days, you can make a fire in the glass-front woodstove, or just turn on the built-in propane heater. If the day is warm, open the doors at each end and the new screened windows, and you'll be comfortable. A countertop with stools separates the kitchen from the living room. The compact KITCHEN is fully furnished with a 4-burner gas stove and oven, sink and refrigerator. There is also a toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker and a complete set of dishes, pots and pans, glasses and utensils.

A small TV/VCR and a drawer full of a variety of videos as well as an AM/FM radio and a well-stocked bookshelf will satisfy your basic relaxation needs when you're indoors. Outdoors, you can lounge in the Sky Chair, in the hammock or on the deck with a good book. If you prefer, either take a walk to Wolf Neck Farm and Wolf Neck State Park for delightful views of Casco Bay or hop in the old canoe or one of our 2 kayaks and explore the natural delights of Harraseeket Bay.

If you're ready for more, you're only 3 miles from L.L. Bean and over 150 upscale outlet stores. Fresh seafood abounds in Freeport from gourmet to New England classics, with even more offerings in neighboring Portland and Brunswick.

Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 1967

We are a retired couple of teachers who enjoy the outdoors and the company of others.

Why the Owner Chose Freeport

We first bought our cottage in the woods of Freeport for a place to escape the winters of dormitory living. Later, our cottage became a place to bring our children and then our grandchildren.

The Unique Benefits of this Cabin

Our cottage is a place to come for quiet rambles and escape from the hectic life in the outside world. There are, however, many opportunities to find a variety of entertainments a very short distance away.

Enjoyed the hospitality (and stories from Bill) upon our arrival. The cabin is very homey and comfortable enough. The wealth of information that Bonnie has there for all her guests was very helpful and appreciated. We had a wonderful time out in the bay with the canoe that is included with the rental of the cabin. Thanks for the use of your special little cabin in the woods, we had a great vacation.

Upon our return to Arizona, we want to thank you for our stay in your cozy cabin. What a location in Freeport, a short drive to stores and Wolf Neck State Park but isolated enough to only hear the birds and your waterfall. The views from your cabin are beautiful - perfectly framed from your hammock. We cherished the kayaking and walks to the farm.
