New Milford cabin description
In winter, come and ski Elk Mt during the day while you retreat to the jacuzzi tub and fireplace night. Quiet is the major attraction. Skiers love it here... down hill and cross country alike. Lake, canoe, hiking, but close by is EMR paintball, antiques, shops, Elk Mountain, Binghamton, white water rafting, Delaware River Valley. Tons of things to do in Susquehanna County. This property is also FOR SALE.
a nice quote...: “Give me a cabin, a good canoe, a grove of pine, a friend or two; a quiet lake that’s hidden back, miles and miles from the beaten path; fishing tackle and decent weather, I can’t think of anything I’d like better…”
a note we found...: 'I just wanted to write to express my sincerest appreciation for the use of the Lake House. We had an extraordinary time! We did leave some beverages, bacon, cereal, coffee, and several other items for the next visitors. I do hope that you approve of the way that we left the house. Again, we had a wonderful time, the people around the community were wonderful and friendly, the fishing was fantastic, and your house is gorgeous!!
Thank you again, so very, very, very much....'

My family and I just returned from one of the most relaxing vacations we've ever had! The lake house is much bigger than it looks in the photos. Yet it's very cozy and comfortable. It is loaded with just about anything you might need...pillows, blankets, board games, yard games, books, many kitchen appliances, gardening tools, and, the kids' favorite place, a spacious game room. Our kids, ages 8, 7 and 5, had a great time! Many hours were spent swimming, canoeing and kayaking in the lake. We had the lake to ourselves most days. The game room kept the kids busy when they were tired from being outside and the game system is a big plus. Nights spent by the fire pit as the sun went down were especially fun. The wi-fi internet connection worked well on all of the devices the kids just couldn't live without. Our cell phones are AT&T and the service was spotty. We often rent vacation properties for our summer vacations. The Lake Roy house is the property we've enjoyed the most. Peter Meerwarth is the most accomodating and responsive owner we've ever experienced. He is quick to answers questions and to give helpful suggestions. We have some wonderful new memories that will last a lifetime. We plan to make even more great memories next summer on Lake Roy!

Great Stay! Cant wait to return!
Great Stay! Cant wait to return!
The house was spacious and cozy. There were only 6 of us but the house could have fit 12. We had a beautiful view of a frozen lake and we can't wait to come back during the summer.

Owner response: K, Thanks for the great review. Glad you had a great time. Let me know when you want to return. Peter
We spent a week at the Lake Roy house in early June 2011. We have 3 children, ages 4, 12 and 13 and they all had a wonderful time!! The kids had lots to do, and when they needed to just chill out, they could watch tv and movies. My boys spent many hours in the game room, on the kayak, fishing and swimming. My daughter loved being able to run out the back door and the water was right there. I put her life jacket on her and I could just relax in the hammock while she was splashing the water just a few feet away. She loved fishing and easily caught 2 big bass. My husband did a lot of fishing, and loved how close we were, so that he wasn't off away from the family the whole time he was fishing. I was pleasantly suprised to find the kitchen had all the comforts of home. I didn't expect all the small appliances, but they had everything I could have wanted!! Blender, microwave, toaster, mixer, coffee maker, even an espresso machine!! It was really easy to just settle in and be very comfortable there. We were only about a 20minute drive from Binghamton, so we took the kids to the zoo and chuck e cheese. Montrose was even closer, only a few miles and we could get groceries, pizza, McDonalds, even a movie theater. You had the beauty of the lake and the quiteness of being away from everything, but then only a few miles away you could get anything you needed. All the rooms in the cabin were cheery and inviting, everyone slept very well. We have Verizon cell phones and had no problem getting service anywhere on the property. Peter Meerwarth was very gracious and accomodating, he was always available to help and quickly replied to all of my emails. Our family has never rented a vacation home before . In the past we would spend a week in a motel when on vacation, we are now sold on renting a home and we will DEFINITELY do it again. I would love to see all that Lake Roy had to offer in the winter! As we left all 3 of my children asked when we could come back.

Owner response: You guys are welcome back anytime!
We fell in love with this place during our first visit a few years back in February. In winter it is the quietest winter wonderland you could imagine. It’s a super cozy romantic getaway for two but it can easily accommodate a large family or group with its large kitchen, dining area, large yard, many bedrooms and game room/lounge. We’ve spent several long weekends at Lake Roy during different seasons and each time has been a delightful new adventure. Our most recent trip was last week and it was amazing. I enjoyed the sunshine on the deck with a good book and my husband lost count of how many nice sized fish he caught from the shore in front of the home. If you’re looking for peace and quiet and want to get away from it all (but stay connected if you choose and be only a short drive for all necessities) this is the place for you. If you’re adventurous this is also the place for you. There are many activities, attractions and things to enjoy in beautiful North East PA with this comfy, well appointed cottage to return to. As an extra bonus, Peter Meerwarth is always a pleasure when booking and very accommodating to his guests and their needs.

Peaceful, serene and relaxing
Peaceful, serene and relaxing
We had a wonderful time watching and walking in the snow at Lake Roy. Outside, it's you and nature in whatever season or sport you choose. Then, inside you can sit by the fireplace in either the living room or bedroom, before or after your relaxing time in the jacuzzi. This spacious yet cozy home on small Lake Roy has all the conveniences of home with some of the finest appliances you could ask for ; quiet Bosch dishwasher, six burner gas stove with large oven, large Maytag clothes washer to name just a few. We've never been here in the summer but can only imagine the fun in the sun on the lake, the deck and screened in porch. A truely year round get away. Highly recommend for a comfortably peaceful, serene, secluded and relaxing time.
