Bedrooms offer comfortable bedding and deep closets. Master suite features king size bed, private bathroom and egress to large back deck, facing the Gulf. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and bunk bed (2 twins.) Bedroom 3 has a queen bed and single twin bed. Well-equipped kitchen will have you blending, baking or brewing with ease.
Take a short walk (175 yards) to the white-sand private beach. Spend the day sunning, swimming and shelling without the disruption of a crowded beach. You may even catch a glimpse of a sea turtle nest hatching. Walk directly across the road to Mobile Bay to cast your net, fish or launch a small vessel or jet ski.
Dixie Daze is located 3.5 miles from historic Fort Morgan. This nestled attraction offers a public pier for fishing, crabbing or launching your boat. A scenic ferry ride to nearby Dauphin Island can provide an afternoon of marine life discovery at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab.

This home was great! We had 4 adults and 5 kids. There was more than enough room. The place was decorated very nice and it was very clean. The beach chairs, umbrellas, and toys were a plus. I has a very nice 47" TV in the living room plus an LCD TV in every bedroom. All in HD. That's hard to find in rental properties. At least for us it is. Netflix was also available. Sandy was so very nice to our family. She checked in to make sure everything was okay. I can't thank her enough for making us feel at home.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

My five family members shared this home; my parents, my husband & I and our 7 yr old daughter. This home is great!!!!!! This was our fourth trip to the ft Morgan beach area & we love this beach. Less crowded & easy access to all the local Spots. Dixie Daze was our favorite house so far to stay in. Very spacious & all the amnesties you could ever want or need. Down to beach chairs, umbrellas & toys for the kids. Was very helpful so we didn't have to pack & tote our own. The home was very spacious & easy access to the beach within walking distance. Al & Sandy were very easy to work with & very prompt in returning emails with answers to all our questions. Checked in on us 2-3 times thru the week to make sure all was well. We defiantly recommend this home & can't wait to come back in the near future. Such a great open-space design. Easy access to beach. Terrific owner to deal with on my first ever vacation house rental.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Our family stayed at Dixie Daze for one week in mid-July 2011. Our group consisted of myself, my husband and our two children, ages 6 and 2. I had concerns about a beach trip with our youngest and the accomodations meeting our needs and expectations. Once we arrived, all my worries were washed away! The owners, Sandy and Al, take great pride in their property and it is so tastefully updated and decorated. The photos on VRBO do not do the home justice. The owners went out of their way to make our stay extra comfortable and special. All the amenities you could ever want are included. The endless beach toys for the kids were great, not to mention the beach cooler, chairs, umbrellas and every other beach item you need. The home is very spacious and well equipped. The free Netflix movies and WiFi were a plus. We regularly used the two outdoor, private showers to rinse off all the sand and salt water and also found the washer/dryer to be very handy. Each room is thougtfully decorated, fresh and clean and very relaxing. The home is in a great location in Fort Morgan -- far enough from the tourist area, but just close enough to get to the shops and great restaurants. I was worried we'd feel too far from Gulf Shores and the stores, but that was not at all the case. The owners recommended some great restaurants right in Fort Morgan and we never felt too isolated or far away from anything. I would recommend this home to renters of all ages. Just a short walk and you are on the most beautiful beach. Traveling by the condos in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, we were so thankful we rented a private home outside of the hustle and bustle. No traffic or crowds to fight and the kids loved the home and beach. Our stay was restful and memorable. We hope to return someday!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

About the owner: The Bennetts welcome you to Fort Morgan, one of the last, best kept secrets around. We live in Atmore, Alabama (85 miles away) which allows us to enjoy this little piece of paradise frequently as well as monitor and maintain the property. Al is employed by our local community college as the Director of Workforce Development and I am a retired special education administrator who does contract work for the Alabama State Department of Education. We have two daughters; Casey (28) and Megan (26) who have literaly 'grown up' on this beach. Al enjoys deer hunting (actually he's obsessed) and I enjoy working in my yard and traveling across the state with my job. Our best times are the 2 weeks during the Summer when we can 'un-lax' with our family and friends here at Dixie Daze.
Why the Owner Chose Other Fort Morgan Properties:
We began coming to Fort Morgan when the girls were babies. Al's brother, Bill and his family have a house (Against The Wind) diagonally behind us and always welcomed us into their home for many family gatherings. We knew we wanted a place of our own and wanted to be close to them so we purchased the property and began work on the house in July of 1995. It was truly a labor of love, as we did much of the work ourselves. We have been ravaged by quite a few hurricanes over the years, but by the grace of God, and countless hours of labor, we are still here. Once you spend time here, you will see that it is truly unique. The area is still unspoiled, uncrowded and not congested. The views are incredible, our beach is beautiful, and we are convenient to most any activity or sport we want to do. If we want to shop, dine or visit the normal tourist attractions, it is a pleasant, short drive into Gulf Shores. If we want to sun, swim, fish, crab, read a book, take a nap, or do nothing at all, this is the place. We have the best of both worlds. Since we know all of our neighbors and property owners and everyone tends to look out for each other and their properties, there is a sense of safety and security that you won't find in many locations.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our area is quiet and peaceful. We have a nice stretch of undeveloped beach to enjoy without stepping over other vacationers. One of the benefits we enjoy is being able to carry our unbrellas, cabanna, beach chairs,etc. down to the beach and leave them there during our entire stay. For years we have enjoyed the Migratory Bird Banding (April and October) at the Fort, activities at Fort Morgan,as well as fishing and crabbing from the large public pier. Access to the ferry, which crosses Mobile Bay to Dauphin Island, is great for a day trip to Sea Lab or very convenient for anyone wanting to cut travel time from Mobile, Mississippi, Louisiana, or Texas.
