The view from the balcony is absolutely unbelievable and unequaled. It overlooks the coral reef and looks straight down the shoreline. You can literally whale watch from the balcony. Sleeping next to the eight foot screens opening up to the balcony with the waves crashing below and the night breezes blowing through the condo is heavenly, peaceful and relaxing. The two bedrooms are large. The only upgrades that need to be made are the kitchen and bathroom cabinets. They show some wear but, I would definitely rent this unit again. It is also right off the elevators and the laundry and trash chute is just across the hall from the condo. Everything you need is within a five minute drive including restaurants, clothing stores, grocery stores, and pharmacies. The rental contract and payment program was very easy and straight forward. Easy to deal with.

This was our third stay at the Mana Kai - first time with kids. LOVE this property. Perfect location - awesome beach & snorkeling - great pool and grounds. Rental shop & general store on property. Owner is fantastic to deal with - great customer service. Unit is comfortable and clean. Will be even better, I'm sure, once the kitchen remodel is done this fall. Excellent value for the money. Thanks for the opportunity to rent from you!!! Will recommend your unit to friends and family.

This was a perfect vacation spot for our group of four. Using the pull out bed does make things a bit crowded but would be fine for a family with kids. We absolutely loved the lanai view and the Mana Kai location and property. My only suggestion for the owners and I'm sure they will probably do this soon--is to invest in some new sheets for the back bedroom, and it might be time to recover the front couch (cute rattan furniture ; ). Everything overall was clean and simple and wonderful! Thank you!
Owner response:New couch and recovered chairs as of this morning!

We had a wonderful stay in Maui. It was like flying into paradise after leaving cold snowy Alberta. The weather was superb and I enjoyed laying in the sun getting a very nice tan. Mana Kai is a wonderful spot with the fabulous 5 palm restaurant , deli and and board rental place. The facility is lovely with the grounds, pool and building kept in very fine shape. The unit was just as advertised and the balcony and windows gave us a wonderful view of the grounds and the ocean. It was a bit distracting to have work going on in front of the restaurant with a front end loader/backhoe being used to clear the way for new sod, irrigation and gas lanterns but I know it is being done to beautify the place even more. After some winds one day several palm tree limbs came down to the ground with one falling in the area around the pool. Luckily I gather no one was hurt. But maybe the trees need more grooming. The unit was clean and tidy on our arrival . The only complaints I have is regarding the fact that only one extra toilet roll was supplied in each bathroom which is not enough for a 10 day stay with 4 people. The other problem was the door to the vanity fell off in the bathroom attached to the convertible bed room. The only other problem was on our arrival and the door code I was given was not working and we had to contact the unit property manager to get another code. Overall we had a great stay and I certainly would recommend the unit and Mana Kai in general to friends and relatives (which I have done already). Thank you to the unit owner and Mana Kai management for a very memorable vacation. Brian Thomas

We recently stayed at this condo and we're extremely happy with the experience. The condo is on the 7th floor of an eight story building and provides wonderful views. We really enjoyed the complex which has a salt-water pool, the Five Palms Restuarant, a convience store and a rental place for snorkeling equipment and other beach related activities. Perhaps the best part about our stay is that the complex is right on the beach, perfect for relaxing either by the pool or on the beach. We also got married on the beach, in front of the Five Palms Restuarant/Mani Kai Resort, and it was a great experience. Everything goes smoothly when you're staying in the same location as the wedding itself and our reception was held at the Five Palms. We would definitely love to get back to Maui and if we do we'll stay at the condo again, it's close to everything in Kihei. We wish we didn't have to leave!

Stayed here with my wife for 4 nights, just to say firstly that the only thing we could fault the condo with is that it feels (and looks) like the hotel room turned into a rental apartment that it is. HOWEVER, that aside (and its really not a big deal, but some may not be happy with the modest furnishings etc), the ability to cook, spread out, and be in such a beautiful location far outweighs any misgivings related to the age of the unit/furnishings (although there are two new TV's and free wifi to bring it into the 21st century.. ;P) The apartment is centrally located, easy 5 min drive (or slightly longer walk) from multiple shops and airport is only 1/2hr away. It does get a little windy at times, but is much less so than the west coast when we visited. The value for this condo is very high considering the location and the condo block itsself (entrance, etc) is VERY clean and well looked after, there is a little shop with everything in it in the same building. All in all, a very enjoyable stay, and we hope (no,we WILL) be back one day soon..!

This unit at the Mana Kai has distinct advantages/disadvantages over others in the building, in our opinion: ++ LOCATION: The 7th floor views. - NOISE: Occasional disturbances related to the near-the-elevator location. -- CONDITION: If it is important to sit on "Tommy Bahama" furniture and store your juice in a SubZero fridge, then this unit is not for you. This unit's condition was no issue for my family though - we spent much of our time outside and appreciated the clean, functional (if very dated) condition. + CLEANLINESS: The cleaning crew left this in great shape. +++ BEDS: Excellent mattresses. Great sleep is more important than granite countertops. ++ LANAI: The unit has nicer lanai furniture than shown in the photos. Full-size table + 6 comfy chairs + small table. + EXTRAS: While not advertised, we found leftover items from previous tenants (beach chairs, umbrellas, mats, and boogie boards) in the closet. Igor tells me they are not his property - but we found them useful. + OWNER: We found the owner very responsive and easy to work with. +++ VALUE: I think the owner is nuts to charge as little as he does. Homeowners fees in this building are almost $1000/month! The almost top-floor views are worth way more...

My husband, I and our 3 teenage boys stayed here for a week in June 2011. The complex is right on the beach and has a small store, Surf Shack and restaurant on site. The unit itself is perfect for up to about 5-6 folks if one or two want to sleep on the pull out sofa. Nicely decorated although the kitchen cabinets appear somewhat dated but who cares, its right on the beach! We were able to fix every meal we wanted in the unit kitchen that had a dishwasher/frig/stove/oven/fully stocked with dinnerware. Beach towels were in the unit along with two beach chairs and a bogey board that perhaps a prior renter had left? Parking was easy as the rental includes a reserved parking space. The pool, lobby, laundry etc were very clean and the grounds perfect. There is a large lawn area adjacent to the beach with patio style loungers for renters use. The beach is perfect for young and old alike with enough wave action to keep the kids busy and decent snorkeling just outside the break. If you've been to the beaches at the larger resorts, you know you have to elbow your way in to beach at times, not at this place as the beach varied from very few to somewhat busy but never crowed even on the weekend. Sure, you can spend 650.00 a night for a queen bed at the Grand Walaia and get the pools and water slides and live like a king but you're in Maui, get out of the room and enjoy the beach! This is on our "rent again" list and we told the boys that when they get married we'd book this unit for their honeymoons! We rented a car and shopped at Costo prior to driving across the narrow part of the island to our rental. During our stay, we did the zip lines, a kayak/snorkeling trip and surfing lessons. The zip lines ( 5 zips) was great but the kayak trip was not worth the money even though we saw lots of turtles. My husband saw a turtle just off the beach at the rental and we heard others talk about seeing turtles in the same area. The small store at the rental, the Surf Shack offered paddle boards, surf boards, snorkeling equipment etc. We booked two surf lessons and they gave us 3 set of snorkeling gear for the week for the price of one set, what a bargain! The actual lessons were about 2 miles away and our oldest two boys wore themselves out paddling wave after wave. We drove up the coast to the north and saw the normal tourist types of locations. Get the book "Maui Revealed" to get great info on the restaurants etc throughout the island. Sure, we'll be back!

We were very pleased with the condo. Location, location, location! Right on the beach was a huge advantage for us with 2 small children. The view from the lanai was wonderful, the pictures didn't do it justice. Great beach with plenty of room for everyone. It even had some pretty good snorkeling. The condo was clean and well stocked with household and beach items. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to our family and friends. Igor was very easy to deal with and always very quick to answer questions. He also recommended a great local baby equipment company (Akamai Mothers). Thank you, Barb and Darren

We loved the condo and the location was excellent. Everything was clean. My family enjoyed the good snorkling right at the beach. The pool was enjoyed by all, as was the restaurant. Our only complaint would be that the condo we stayed in could use some updating. We also could have used additional bath towels. All in all it was a great experience!

We found this condo to be as advertised. It was very comfortable, clean, nice appliances, with a beautiful view of the ocean. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony. The beach below was also lovely, great walking beach and fun to swim in. It wasn't fancy but was what we were looking for.

Whale watching from our lanai! • separate bedroom suite • clean, internet access, free phone in NA. • great pool, lawn area for guest only...and the security does check if you stay there! • air condition in bedroom Thank you Igor and Claudia for letting us into your home. We stayed in this unit for the second time last month and it felt like coming home! The minute we walked in and saw that view from the lanai again, the stress of hours of travel disappeared. The condo is well outfitted with everything you need for a perfect stay. This time I found a big beach umbrella in the closet and spent hours reading, snorkeling and watching for whales on Keawakapu Beach. We have stayed on many different parts of the island, but the Mana Kai is by far our favorite because of the location and the view. What a pleasure to be right on the beach and be able to walk for miles on beaches and boardwalks without seeing a single car! In fact our rental car saw little use because we were quite content right where we were. The owners are extremely helpful and quick to respond to emails. I can't recommend this property highly enough and can not wait to go back.

Pictures online can and often do lie--this condo surpassed our expectations based on the fotos on the web page. The view from the balcony (and from the bed!) is fantastic--we enjoyed one great sunset after another without having to move to another location. Tastefully decorated in a non-fussy style, this condo is the perfect place for a family with children or older folk who do not want to spend a lot of time cleaning while on vacation. Everything we needed to prepare our meals was available. Igor was great to deal with. We would recommend this property to all of our friends and family, in fact, we hope to be back some day! Mahalo. My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in Maui at the Mana Kai. This was our third trip to the Mana Kai. We absolutely love it with the stunning view and great beach. This trip proved to be all of the same. We snorkled with the turtles right off the condo beach and watched beautiful sunsets everynight. The condo is very nice and we were spoiled having all the room just for the two of us this time around!

the description of the beach at the Mana Kai does not even come close... this is absolutely the best location on Maui! The sand is soft, the waves are gentle. The reef is gorgeous, much better than Molokini. Better variety of coral, color and fish and much larger area to snorkel. Condo was large enough for 2 couples. Only thing to remember is you'll need to purchase your own toilet paper, garbage bags, etc. But, Costco is right on the way from the airport! This is an outstanding value, you won't be disappointed! Mahalo and aloha! Cheryl

We are a family of six and spent 12 wonderful days in these accommodations. We fell in love with the location the first day we were there, and are already planning to return as soon as able. The unit was clean, and the Property Manager was very accommodating and friendly. It really is an amazing place...we snorkeled right in front of the hotel and saw a turtle swim by us....he was so close we could have touched him. We will be back. This hotel is extremely well maintained...you will be very impressed. Thank you for everything.

The Mana Kai is a great place to stay and a great deal also. This condo was great--I like being on a higher floor a little farther up from any pool/lawn noise. The view down the beach is incredible. It is truly one of the best beaches in Maui (we've been to the island several times). It is uncrowded and very long. You can walk down it to the Wailea shops/hotels. When you do that and see how crowded the beach is in front of the Grand Wailea, you will appreciate your uncrowded beach. The condo was very clean and well stocked, and the owner was very responsive and pleasant in answering questions. The condo had a beach umbrella and some boogie boards (maybe left over from a prior tenant?). The kids loved them. You can rent other equipment (like kayaks, etc.) from the shop downstairs--very convenient. The deli/grocery store downstairs was also convenient if a little expensive. But I appreciated that they sold individual tablets of dishwashing detergent so I didn't have to buy a whole box. Having the restaurant downstairs is great too; we had half price drinks and appetizers during happy hour. You cannot go wrong staying at the Mana Kai, and this condo in particular is a great deal.

We had a great time at this condominium. Very accurate in description. Great views and easy access to everything else on the island. Clean. Owner was very helpful and timely to make our stay comfortable. We used the kitchen daily for meal preparation. Highly recommend. We snorkeled at several beaches and great snorkeling right at condo. We drove to Ma'alena Harbor, Wailea, Makena, and Lahaina. Also loved Maui Tropical Plantation, IAO Needle State Park, Trilogy snorkel/sail trip to Molokini Crater and Makena kayak. Favorite restaurant was Lahaina Fish Co in Lahaina, and Mama's Fish House near Paia.

Wonderful Condo and property, we would stay again without hesitation! The grounds and view are beautiful. Staff are very friendly and are constantly cleaning and taking care of the grounds. The beach was our favorite beach, no need to go elsewhere, and the snorkeling was wonderful and right there at our doorstep! The Condo was very clean and the beds are very comfortable. The view is incredible and we opened the doors and had just the screen doors at night and listened to the waves as we slept. Location was great as well, we toured all the area's and prefered this location. Hope to have the opportunity to stay here again!

Amazing location, great view, fantastic value. This is by far the best opportunity in the Kihei/Wailea area. My wife and I have been to the resorts down south and condos up north, but this is our favorite. Huge beach where you can always find your own spot in the sand, fantastic restaurant on site, great pool that is rarely crowded. If you are looking for the site and sounds of Maui look no further! Once you stay you will be back.

The Awesome: * The Mana Kai has a phenomenal location right on the beach. None of the expensive hotels down the road in Wailea can give you a room that is nearly this close to the water and the view is hard to match. * The Five Palms restaurant downstairs is excellent. We've had friends staying at the big hotels down the beach get referred to the Five Palms by their concierge. * The General Store downstairs has everything you could possibly need from laundry soap, to milk, to tequila. No need to get in the car to go on a quick grocery run. The Good Enough: * The Mana Kai is an old building and most of the units are a bit dated, and this one is no exception. It's clean with a fare amount of wear and tear. The Bottom Line: * If you are looking for an affordable family vacation right on one of the best beaches on Maui this is THE place to stay. * If you are looking for luxury the Four Seasons is right up the street. Tips: * For major grocery shopping when you arrive it's good to stop at Costco which is right next to the airport, and then Safeway on Pilani Highway (close to the Mana Kai). Be sure to sign up for the free Safeway Card it really does save you 20+% on your groceries.

Our family of 6 had a wonderful time at the Mana Kai #708. The grounds were immaculate, the staff very friendly and we met a lot of great families. Couldn't ask for a better beachfront location with a fantastic view. Our kids could not get enough of the great pool, and the best sandy beach for castle building, boogie boarding, snorkeling, and investigating tidepools just steps from the condo. The condo unit was clean and comfortable and the owner very personable and easy to deal with. Only downside would be that the complex doesn't have a communal BBQ but this was defintely the best place we've stayed and would not hesitate to come back.

We just LOVED staying in #708. We could throw a ball from the lanai and have it land on the sand - it was that close! The surf was calm enough for our 8 year old, and had AMAZING snorkeling. Saw turtles and a manaray!! Pool was fabulous and directly below the lanai. Restaurant is VERY good. We'll be back as soon as possible.
